Hey peeps!First of all: I wish you all a happy and the best possible new year 2026!! May the dice roll in your favor in game and in life!
a small glimpse back into 2025
Last year for sure came with it's fair bit of challenges, especially in my personal life and health wise and I really, really hope that 2026 will bring a bit of "normalness" with it! Thank you all for your kind words and patience during this time! It really means the world to me to have found such a great and understanding community in you all!
But I also think that 2025 brought many great themes that all came from these awesome suggestions from the community and with it lots of new assets (over 12500 in total this last year alone) , and some very complex and large maps with lots of different floors and levels XD And I really hope many of you were able to use and enjoy them in your sessions! Ending the year with "The Tower" was also a little test to see if a new approach of publishing the content packs could work out...
And while it came with it's own set of new challenges (and didn't quite worked as smoothly as I hoped it would be) - I learned a lot during the process and I hope that this newfound knowledge will help me finetune this new concept over the course of the upcoming content packs:
Moving forward with the new concept:
For now, I want to keep exploring and refining this new approach. Realistically, it will take a few more content packs before I can properly see what works well - and what might need some adjusting. Overall my main goal stays to share new content with you more frequently while keeping the core of a day at alive with themed content packs including big maps and content to bring your own visions come to life!
And even though there will be shorter intervalls with sharing new content I feel that it would be great to keep you all a bit more in the loop in general. Thats why starting this year I want to introduce:
Monday updates
To give you a clearer picture of where I’m currently at, what I’m working on, and what’s coming up next, I am starting a small “Monday Updates” series that I am going to share through the QUIPS feature here on Patreon and on Discord - with the hope that it will give you a few more insights on what's happening behind the scenes and keep you posted about the current state of things. It won't be overly polished but is meant to be a little peak behind the curtains and to show a bit more transparently what's happening... On the a day at Discord Server I will add a new channel and create a new role ("monday update") that you can activate so you get a notification when I create a new monday update...Going to start with that one next monday though XD
Further things happening in the background:
Foundry - Levels module integrationAs some of you might know I got a bit of outside help to integrate the LEVELS module into Foundry. Unfortunately, progress here slowed down due to some real-life hurdles on Shadow’s side, which of course absolutely take priority! But we are hoping to be able to properly pick this up again soon!
DungeonFog - Asset integrationThere hasn’t been an official announcement about this yet - mainly because two of my asset packs caused some technical issues (I may have slightly “broken” things…), but me and the DungeonFog team are working on it...(Until we figured out what the problem exactly is this will be paused for the moment so it won't happen with other packs too...)That said: some packs are already live, and if you’re using DungeonFog, Creative & Thorough GMs can link their Patreon account to access those already!A proper announcement will follow once everything is sorted! But for now the following packs are already online (links added to the images):
NEXT UP: a day at the university
The poll for the next content pack theme showed that most of you would like to spend a day at the university, so that will be our next destination!
I went back and forth quite a bit about what general direction this one could take. I briefly considered recreating my own campus, but in terms of interesting assets and broader usability, I’m currently leaning towards something inspired by Oxford or a small private university with subtle gothic elements - maybe something loosely inspired by Les Rivières Pourpres.
The goal is to make it flexible enough to work across different time periods and settings and to add new assets that broaden the general approach of things for you to map out.
As always: If you have ideas or wishes for specific assets or locations, please feel free to share them here in the comments or in the Asset Ideas Channel on the a day at Discord Server! I hope I will be able to show you some more insights with a small sneak peek sometime next week!
Some additional & general thoughts at the start of this new year:
As you might know, I’m constantly looking for ways to regularly share lots of new content with you - without burning out in the process. And while I’m actively trying to find the best long-term solutions, it’s sometimes hard not to compare myself to other creators and feel like I should be doing even more. But when I take a step back, I also need to remind myself that many larger Patreons and creators work with teams, employees, and / or freelancers. While that’s something I hope will be a reality for a day at too someday, for now - aside from Shadow helping with the Levels modules integration - I’m handling everything myself: creating assets from scratch, building complex maps, tech, organization, social media, taxes… the whole package. So why am I writing this: My goal is to grow and improve in a sustainable way. While I’m always looking for ways to expand what I’m doing, I also want to be mindful about how new things are integrated -especially since there are quite a few ideas I’d absolutely love to explore, but haven’t really been able to fit in so far. This could include things like:
More polished FoundryVTT modules
Tutorials
Regional city maps (similar to the Tokyo regional map I made way back)
city scale map assets
Assets for landing pages
Smaller standalone maps
More community activities and events
Smaller themed asset packs (like 20s, 80s, 70s, overgrown things, ...)
I’d really love to hear from you if any of these ideas excite you - or if you have thoughts on how something like this could fit into the current concept in a healthy way.
My thoughts tend to loop endlessly around this topic, so your input might help push things in a great new direction!Thank you all so much for your continued support, patience, and trust. I’m really excited to see where this year will take us!I wish you all a great week and start into this new year!Greetings from Ana
