Introducing Community Milestones, Updates on the FoundryVTT LEVELS integration (+ poll what systems on FoundryVTT you are on)
Heya everyone!
I hope you all had a good week so far and a great upcoming weekend!
Today I’m reaching out with something I’m genuinely excited about. Fair warning though: this one’s a bit longer. So for those of you short on time, here’s the quick version first:
TL;DR
Introducing Community Milestones:
The first Milestone will be 400 paid members.
With every Milestone (in 25er steps) I am releasing one complete content pack for free (Starting with Content Pack #2 to #5 at 400 paid members, #6 at 425, #7 at 450 and so on)
With every Milestone there will also be additional content published for all paid Patrons as a thank you for the support (like additional maps, regional maps, Asset Packs or other supplements that I think you might enjoy)
Updates on the FoundryVTT Levels integration (Thorough GMs)
Updated three Map modules with LEVELS integration: the mall, the military base & the space station
Tackling the Backlog of modules and new content packs from now on with (approx.) weekly updates
There is much more to it, so if you DO have the time I am very happy if you continue reading :)Either way don't forget to vote in the poll at the end of this post before you leave! :)
But now for the full story:
This idea has actually been sitting in the back of my mind for quite a while:I’ve always loved the thought of opening up my older “legacy” content packs to the broader community at some point. I just never quite knew how to do it in a way that feels right - both for the sustainability of the project and for you.
But recently, I had the idea of connecting that thought to something we could grow into together: slowly unlocking older content over time, with the help of the community itself.
You may know that I am always trying to give back to this amazing community by sharing a good bunch of content for free - but at the same time, that public content is still only a fraction of what’s being created behind the scenes - and keeping that balance is what allows this project to remain sustainable (and, well… allows me to pay the rent XD).
But now that we’re closing in on 30 content packs, it finally feels like there’s enough backlog to start opening things up in a meaningful way by celebrating these milestones together.
So how does it work?
Once the a day at Patreon reaches 400 paid members the Community Milestones will be "toggled", meaning that from that point on, and then every additional +25 paid members, we are going to celebrate that milestone by:
Sharing one complete content pack for free (for personal use) with the community
I am going to celebrate that first milestone with starting big: Sharing content pack #2: a day at Paradise Housing, #3 - a day at AVA industries content pack, #4 - a day at the subway station & #5 - a day at the desert outpost all at once and going onwards with one new pack from there
So reaching 425 paid members for the first time I am sharing the complete #6 - a day at the purification plant, going onwards with #7 for 450, #8 for 475, #9 for 500 and so on.
For now until we may one day reach 1000 members and see from there how that whole concept works out (one is allowed to dream, right?).
+ Bonus Content for active paid members
This is meant as a special thank you for subscribed Patrons for your support to me and the community
These might be additional maps, regional maps, Asset Packs or other supplements that I think you might enjoy
Basically: Ideas I’ve been wanting to bring to life but never had the perfect slot for. This feels like a great way to finally get them out of my head and into your hands. (For example smaller maps suggested from the community that wouldn't really fit a complete content pack)
So instead of older packs slowly fading into the background, they’ll be opened up over time as a shared thank you whenever the Patreon and it's community grows naturally, adding more and new content to the a day at portfolio while doing so...
I really like the thought of growing into this together - and am curious to see how far we’ll take it, one small milestone at a time and hope you’re just as excited about this idea as I am.
Of course if you have questions or anything about this let me know!

Some updates on the FoundryVTT LEVELS integration for Thorough GMs:
First of all: I am so sorry for this delay and thank you all for your patience regarding the LEVELS integration of my FoundryVTT modules!
As you may have read in my outlook for this year, there were some setbacks regarding this - but I am very happy to announce that we can now tackle this again - and also that I can introduce Kris to you today!
Kris is also a creator on Patreon and is working on a library for all kinds of goods and interesting supplements with his project "Kris's Compendium of Trade Goods".But he also creates FoundryVTT content, like Token Rings and supports creatives like me with FoundryVTT integrations and started supporting me with integrating multiple Levels canvases on Foundry! So I am very happy to announce today that, with the help of Shadow and Kris, the following FoundryVTT modules have now been updated and are now available with The Rippers LEVELS module aswell:
a day at the Mall (#17)
a day at the Military Base (#19) &
a day at the Space Station (#24)
The Links haven't changed - that means former Thorough GMs or people that bought the COMPLETE standalone pack can also access the Update. And if you already have downloaded one of these modules you can just update them inside Foundry. As always: Please let me know if you run into troubles or have questions!
What are the next steps in this matter?
We are continuing working on the backlog of modules but will prioritize new content packs when they are released. In between the new releases we aim to update one module from the backlog every week. The next Pack will be a day at the Tower and you can already see a little glimpse of the WIP in the Screenshot above. I am going to keep you updated about new releases through the Monday Updates and Cloud Changelogs and will make an announcement once the backlog (Until #10) is tackled.
However: Although we will work on the Backlog with the The Rippers LEVELS Module for now we will have to see how the upcoming release of FoundryVTT V14 will impact this, since it will introduce the option of a multiple Level Canvas in the Vanilla FoundryVTT version. But I will keep you in the loop regarding this!
Now to the Poll:
This Poll is mainly meant to see what Systems you are using on FoundryVTT when using a day at content, since it will help us to see how quickly we may be able to update content to newer Versions or if we maybe should wait a moment with updating. I also would love to hear how quickly (or not) you update your Foundry instance when a new update drops! Would love if you could tell us about it in the comments!
Sadly the number of options for voting is capped at 25, so I had to leave some systems out of it. If you don't find the System you are using in the List feel free to comment below!
