SUBSCRIPTION BILLING

When you subscribe, you will now be billed on that date going forward, instead of on the 1st of the next month.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you were already subbed and billed on the 1st before this, NOTHING CHANGES!!!

But for those of you who come and go with your sub, you can now do so knowing that you can still sub at the end of the month and it will not charge you days/a week later on the 1st, but on whatever date you subbed on.

Why Didn't I Do This Before?

Originally It used to be much much more financially critical for me to be getting paid out on the 1st of the month consistently so I could pay rent. That's not as critical anymore.

The other reason I held off is because of Apple's bullshit, which I already posted in as big a letters as possible above. I don't want people paying more by accident just to hand Apple an extra 30%, but there's nothing I can do, and now Patreon has basically just rolled over and is forcing ALL creators to switch to this by November 1st. I'm just biting the bullet early.

Is Anything Else Changing?

As far as my content goes, I'll now be less pressed to be delivering the biggest projects at the start of the month. I used to do that because it felt right to try and sell the biggest stuff at the start of the month so that the most people would sub and they'd have their subs for a full month. Now that doesn't matter so I'm going to try and shift my mindset to deliver whichever projects whenever I feel like it, rather than the weird sort of trickle down.

Might take some getting used to, but hopefully this takes a bit of pressure off that often happens at the end/start of the month. I expect that this will take some time to even out though. We'll see.
