Hi everyone! A lot of patrons said they'd love to hear updates about the channel and our plans here on Patreon, since they may not be on Instagram or Twitter. That sounds like a good idea to me, so I'll try to make monthly posts letting you know what there is to look forward to. These posts will be available to all patrons, paid AND free, as a thank you for engaging with us here even if you're not currently at a paid tier. I also suggest tuning into the Monday Morning Livestreams if you're able to (or watching the VODs if you can't be there live), and signing up for the Dead Meat Newsletter that Ben puts out every week.
For KILL COUNTS we've got the Heart Eyes episode being released publicly on Friday Feb 13th, the day before Valentine's Day. We should be on track for an early Patreon release on Monday the 9th, as well. Yet to be seen if we'll have any content or copyright issues with this one since we don't have an upload just yet. We've also got Misery scheduled for a public release of Friday Feb 27th. We're still in the writing stage of that episode but it's on track to come out on time, again, assuming there's no content or copyright issues.
I've been taking this break from Kill Count releases to... write a bunch of random Kill Counts. Usually older and simpler movies, where it only takes me a few hours to crank out a first draft script. Our plan is to get a bunch of these ready quietly in the background so we can release them as needed later in the year. So, we don't have release dates scheduled for them, but I have written episodes for Puppet Master III, Creep 2, and, if you can believe it, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. So expect those all some time in 2026.
The DEAD MEAT PODCAST will have an episode out tomorrow where we talk about The Hitcher. It was supposed to be out yesterday but Chelsea got sick and we had to push it a little. On February 18th we've got a fun episode lined up, as well - we haven't announced this anywhere but looks like we'll be talking about It's Alive from 1974 with a VERY special and probably unexpected line-up of guests. To promote their upcoming horror film MIMICS, we'll be joined by Kristoffer Polaha, Stephen Tobolowksy, and Chris Parnell! And they're gonna be IN PERSON, like, coming to our house to film! It's crazy that this is happening and we're so excited.
For other public videos, I recorded an interview with Darren Lynn Bousman and Lauren LaVera for their film TWISTED which comes out tomorrow (Friday Feb 6th). Hopefully we'll have that interview video out for you on Saturday.
EDIT: Can't believe I forgot to mention them here but just to keep boosting the signal: yes, the DEAD MEAT HORROR AWARDS and the HORROR ROYAL RUMBLE are still happening this year, they're both just delayed a few months and will probably come out some time during the summer. We've almost got our whole roster selected for the Rumble but Chels still has to fine tune them, then we've gotta pick entrances and move sets, record a bunch of match options, record our commentary, and edit it all. Plus this year I'm planning on doing some extra fun stuff to add to the production of the video (and to really make the delay worth it). On the Awards side we've just gotta watch a few more movies to finalize our nominee picks for all the categories; then the writing, filming, and editing processes can get underway.
For PATREON REWARDS, looks like the commentary track this month will be for The Taking of Deborah Logan, which is available on Amazon Prime Video. We'll try to get a guest for it since it's always fun to be joined by a friend. Next month the poll will include way more options since it looks like most people are cool with us selecting whatever movies we want as opposed to being confined to specific streaming services.
For a Patreon Podcast I haven't decided what to do - I kinda want to watch MERCY when it comes out on streaming (supposedly 2/18) and then talk about that since it looks so dumb haha. Next month's Patreon Podcast will definitely be talking about Oscar movies with Graessle. I'll also do a post scheduling the livestream hangout for this month, which will likely be 2/15 or 2/22, and I believe the team should be scheduling a team stream soon as well. As for other projects, we've got a LOT going on here. Tons of meetings. We're really trying to get production of a short film off the ground written and directed by an amazing upcoming filmmaker. We were hoping to start production next month but it might have to be pushed to the summer for scheduling purposes. We've also had meetings about producing horror content in the Verticals space, but we're only going to do it if we're able to make stuff we'd be proud of - and a lot of Verticals content right now is... not that.
Finally, DnDnD fans should rejoice as we've already filmed one new session and we're doing another this Saturday. We're all determined to return from this hiatus super strong and to finally finish the story Graessle has put so much time and love into.
