Hello Traxians! Happy new RiffTrax Friday and boy do we have a doozy of a flick for you today. When you see the title The Killer Likes Candy, you would probably expect "candy" to be somewhat of a factor in the movie. Well, you would be mistaken! This is more about vengeance, assassination, and even other types of killing!
It’s a spy thriller set in Europe in the swingin’ 60s, a time when anything seemed possible. The counterculture was taking over the mainstream, love was free, men could have long hair, and a killer could like candy!
The killer isn’t all sugar and fun, however. In fact he’s a former Nazi out to assassinate the King of Kafiristan (probably for his aggressively anti-Skittles regime). The killer’s pursued by an unforgettably bland American security type guy named Mark. Mark and his horny photographer sidekick - we’re talking, full Austin Powers mode here - try to keep the king safe while he’s in Rome. That’s right, it’s an American agent in a French / Italian / German movie about the royalty of a country called Kafiristan that no longer exists, what’s not to understand?
Girls will dance! Men in suits will be oily and shiny! Candy will be eaten, but that won’t be as important to the plot as the title might suggest!
Grab a box of Runts (but not the banana ones, the killer specifically hates those) and join Mike, Kevin and Bill for the European confection The Killer Likes Candy!
You can score the riff now on the site, and watch the guys talk more about it in this week's Talkin' RiffTrax!
