I gave Son of Heaven a long look before I idly twisted a finger through my ear to clean it, and then I said bluntly. "Nah. I'm good. I got a sweet honey whose waitin for me to get home. And I don't want to fuck that up."
Seeing his face go dark, I did add with a helpless smile. "But I will admit... You did test me there. Qin Xuan's Steel Legion indeed hasn't given anything truly valuable besides information and taking me on a single hunt."
I shrugged and was about to leave before I added with finality. "It's not you or your offer not being good either. In but a week I will have maxed out my Sacred Blood geno points and I will be out of the first sanctuary. In that time, where will you and your people be at that point?"
My unspoken words were all to blunt as well. If I was in the Second Sanctuary and I joined his own personal forces and got extremely important resources like an S rank Geno Martial Art.
What value could I provide him when I was literally in another dimension inside of the Sanctuary?

I paused at that before I said flatly. "What the hell? No, he asked me if I would become one of his subordinates. He even offered an S- Rank Geno Martial art and I refuse him. I told him I coudn't really even join even if I wanted to because I was heading to the Second Sanctuary soon as well."
Yang Manli's voice was cross as she said sharply. "That's not what other members of the Steel Legion are saying. They are saying you did refuse at first, but then you agreed when he offered two Geno Martial Arts for you to choose from!"
I was quiet for a long moment before I palmed my face and I said in an utterly flat tone. "I have... Zero fucking interest in getting caught up in drama with people who are too busy playing games instead of getting strong instead. I did not agree, end of story."
The line went dead silent as Yang Manli considered my words. Before she said softly. "Jake. I want to trust you. But genius commoners jumping ship to such offers is just... Not just common but expected. After all, Qin Xuan's family hasn't offered any real incentive for you to remain in their family's forces in the Second Sanctuary either."
I exhaled heavily before I finally said. "Yang Manli... In the day's I was doing another hunt in the Sanctuary, I received dozens of military college admittance letters. Not invitations, but straight up admittance, several of the best colleges in the Human Federation has already saved me a spot."
I cleared my throat and continued. "At one of those colleges I will be able to easily trade beast souls for Geno Martial Arts. I will get the teaching and actual support of teachers who can help me organize hunting groups. I have literally zero reason to just jump over and one of his families subordinates."
"Qin Xuan isn't happy about these rumours going everywhere Jake." Yang Manli said helplessly.
I looked at my phone as I wanted to say. 'That's not my fucking problem now is it?' But that woudn't help anything. In the end Qin Xuan had helped me get like half of my Sacred Blood geno points as well as give me a place I could trade and sell beast souls.
"I am sorry to hear that, Yang Manli. I am also sorry you are having to deal with this as well." I said to console her especially.
So that I, a commoner, could actually get the money I needed to get into that expensive as hell gym that allowed me to train in my Haki and pick up the Marine Six Styles.
Without that hyper-expensive gym that was rated for literal super humans. I would be far worse off right now. At the very least, I woudn't have made a quarter of the progress I had made with Observation Haki for sure.
Then I added rather bluntly. "Besides, with how I am going to be choosing a military college soon. I won't even be on this planet anyway. I will be headed off, and I may not even remotely land somewhere near Qin Xuan might come out at, in the Second Sanctuary."
I cleared my throat and said. "Anyway, I am currently in the bath right now. I need to go. Just, I don't even know. Tell Qin Xuan to just chill. I am not going to publicly disgrace or humilate her."
With that, I didn't give Yang Manli anytime to set up any 'traps'. Like getting me to agree to meet her again. This time with Qin Xuan or something.
Nah, the last time I went anywhere with Yang Manli she led to Han Sen's family to tell them about his passing. The last time I actually hunted with her, we almost all died due to a massive surge of countless attacking giant ants.
