Well, this week...month...hasn't gone at all according to plan. Amidst writing and design deadlines, I was chasing this feral guy around my neighborhood after he showed up with a broken leg. I was finally able to trap him and just when I was about to rush him to a vet, my car wouldn't start. Hah.
Anyway, a few Lyft rides later, he's back at my house to recover. He had compound fractures in basically all of his leg bones - likely hit by a car - so the vet recommended amputation. He is now a freshly neutered tripod, much like his predecessor Dwight (CW: you can see Dwight's surgery scar in one of the photos in the link). Some of you might remember him!Thankfully, Dwight gradually came around to being an indoor cat living with people - and a very lovey companion at that. He found a wonderful home with Newt, the Lackadaisy community manager. It remains to be seen how this guy will adjust and if I'll be able to find an adopter. He's so scared right now, but here's hoping some time and some treats will coax him out. Wish me luck.
My neighbor has dubbed him Waldo. We'll see if that sticks.
