Hello everyone!
As I've mentioned, for the next update I wanted to add a couple of little minigames - one for working in the library, and the other for working in the cafe. I wanted these to be simple, brief, and optional.
I also wanted to do this to stretch my coding skills a little, and it's been a lot of fun! I've learned some more niche aspects of Ren'Py, as well as feeling a little more confident with python.
Let me show you what I've done so far! Remember everything's WIP, and some details may change.
Library minigame
In the library, you'll need to return books to their rightful place.
The books are floating around, and you'll have a short time to click and drag as many as you can into their correct coloured containers!
This game taught me about Ren'Py's Sprite Manager, as well as some more advanced python and pygame functions.
I think the UI for this game could still do with a little cleaning up, we'll see.
Cafe
In the cafe, you'll need to take increasingly complex orders from customers (including some familiar faces!), and get their food in a timely manner.
A total of three customers will each order one, two, and then three items, and you'll need to quickly click and drag the correct items onto their tray.

This game taught me about Ren'Py's drag and drop system, which is a lot of fun and must have endless applications! (Though surprisingly is not what I used for the library game).
Both these games will be added in the next update. As I mentioned, they are optional - you can still do the same "work" option in each location as in the current version. However, the minigame will earn you more money!
That's it for today. I'm just starting Madelline's scene, and some time next week I'll put up a poll for you all to choose what else will be in the update.
Thanks all! <3
