Before we start, we need to keep this in mind (taken from GFL2 Discord Modding server with slight adjustment):
Is it safe to use mods in GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM?
3DMigoto works by replacing the data in a way that guarantees no modifications of game files, and is thus a non-invasive way of modding. In conclusion, it's fine to mod. Just don't post screenshots with UID visible online. Mod responsibly and don't be dumb.Like with the Hoyoverse games, and WuWa, use 3DMigoto. It's the only way to mod the game and there is no auto-ban for it.Just never place 3DMigoto in the game's folder, since you don't need to anyway and that's a stupid thing to do
With that out of the way, let's get started!
This is the guide from official page:https://starbobis.github.io/SSMT4-Documents/newbie/ssmt/DownloadAndInstall/DownloadAndInstall.htmlBut if you having trouble following it, I'll show you step by step as well!
First thing first, you need to download SSMT from the Githubhttps://github.com/StarBobis
in this case, we download the SSMT4-Alpha (might be differ in the future if it's updated)
head over to Releases and download any version you want, for this guide, we go with V4.1.36
Install and run it, then you'll see probably something like this
In case the SSMT language in Chinese, you can change it to English
After clicking the settings icon, scroll down and you'll see language selection, change it to English like shown above
If there's no GF2 in the selection, we need to create new config for it by right clicking on the window -> create new config
Use any icon and name you want for the config, and choose GF2 as game preset
Be careful not to choose large image, as it'll cover up whole entire screen and you'll have to use the scroll bar to find the buttons to change the icon & others againYou can right click on the icon and add it to favorite too if you want, but it's not necessarily neededWhen it's done, head to Home and hover to the collapse menu icon, and pick Game Settings
Since this is a fresh install, you need to update your 3Dmigoto package, install the latest version of it
Now we head over to 3DMigoto Settings, and we fill up the directoriesFor 3DMigoto Directory, you can use the refresh button if you just want it to be defaultAs for Target Process path, we aim it to GF2_Exilium.exe inside your installed GF2Exilium/GF2 Game folderLauncher path is optional, so I'll leave it empty for now
For Steam user, the path a bit different, but the target still roughly the same:[Your Steam Directory]/steamapps/common/GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2 EXILIUM/GF2_Exilium.exe
Now that everything is prepared, close the Settings window, and hit Start Game, and a Command Prompt will popup
Start your GFL2, and if done correctly you should see a popup at the start the game about the mod controls
And now, it's time to install our mods!Head over to Mods tab, and create new categoriesyou can name it however you want, but this time I'll go with Default
Add the mod with Import Archive button, and select the .zip, .7z, or .rar file of the mod, and confirm install
In case you already unpacked the archive, you can use Import Folder button as well and it'll do the sameThat should be it!If the game still running, you just need to hit F10 button to reload the mods and it'll automatically load the mods without needing to restart the game
Happy modding!

Troubleshooting/Issues
Q: The game restarts by itself and then the mod is not loadedA: In case you used the latest version of the SSMT instead of what's shown in this guide, there might be slight differencesThe solution is pretty simple:
Head to game settings, and go to 3DMigoto Settings
Scroll a bit down, and you'll see Launch Arguments, under there you'll see Auto Exit Seconds, adjust it from 5 to any seconds you want it to automatically close (for example 30s or 60s depending how quick your device can reload the game)
Reason is the game decided to respawn itself within the 5s timeframe, and since the mod loader closes within that said timeframe, the game ends up not having the mod loader active
