DESCRIPTION

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another mid-video update! Or I guess... late video update? Honestly not sure, this one is way off the usual schedule since I was away for most of May on vacation. As I've mentioned a handful of times, I was in Canada for a couple of days to hang out with friends, go shopping and get great food, and also quite importantly, attend Anime North! Which, I have to say, a huge thank you goes out to all the fans I met there! It was amazing to get to say hi to folks who love these videos, and particularly the artists. Not sure if person with the SayoOshi print or the Saya no Uta small print are here on this Patreon, but if you are: thank you! Both of you rock and I look forward to displaying your art in my background when I can! <3

The (much needed) vacation did put some brakes on production though, which I should apologize for. I intended for the Mugen Kairou video to be done WAY sooner than it was, but scope creep and then scope de-creep resulted in production being somewhat of a disaster. I think things will start smoothing out again from here at least, but it might taken a moment to get back to my usual once-per-month schedule. Which, I do have something important I want to discuss in this update related to that, and I promise there is actually a poll attached to this post this time, I am so sorry I forgot it in the last one, I was tired.

To cut a long story short, I am considering (ONLY CONSIDERING RIGHT NOW!) shifting my video production to an 'as it's done' schedule rather than monthly, likely starting next year IF I do so. The reason for this is simple: I intend to go to university for biochemistry next year if I can pass the entrance exams, and I'm already feeling a lot of pressure trying to create these videos monthly while doing self-study to pass the national Portuguese exam later this year; going into school full time, I'm not sure I'd be able to create these videos monthly.

There are also other considerations with this. Shifting to an as-done model earlier than that would allow me consistent weekends and holidays off, as well as allow me to produce videos on any game without consideration for how long the video would take to produce (within reason). This would open the door for more easily covering large titles like Muramasa and Fate/stay night, or games that require immense amounts of research and context like SubaHibi. as I presently have the ability to dedicated 7~10 hours a day, often 6 days a week to this job, There could be some big ass videos on huge games with that amount of time.

As it stands right now, I'm a little bit limited in what I can cover, having to follow a monthly schedule. This does benefit me in some ways I think, as it gives me incentive to plan ahead and wing it with games based on how they'll fit into schedules, but it is also restrictive. This would only become more so in university if I kept going monthly, where I'd likely have to resort to mostly covering small games to have time for studies, with bigger videos sprinkled in here or there.

So, I've added a poll to this post where you all can vote your opinion so I can gauge interest/disinterest in this. But regardless, I again have to reiterate this change is not happening immediately or guaranteed. I am only posing it so I can get an idea of what to expect in the future if I do go through with it. I think I'd be alright if the vast majority of Patrons are fine with videos only coming out as they're completed (with more updates to guarantee I'm alive and working), so my income isn't hit more than 20% at the absolute most. Video production will continue as is for the far foreseeable future, unless there is incredible demand otherwise. And please, leave your thoughts on this in the comments, as I want to hear what you all feel about this in greater depth than points on a poll. Poll closes on July 1st!

Anywho. Viddy games.

June: Okay, so I was initially thinking I'd cover Sadistic Blood this month, but that sort of fell through as there really... isn't enough in it for a whole video. I'll probably talk about it when I do a Mindead Blood video as they're related. So instead, WE'RE GOING TO THE MOON! IN MOON! People have been asking for the very first game by KEY staff for ages, and good god in heaven is it an amusing mess. Game is completed, script is in production.

July & August: In hopes of getting back on track time-wise, I'm going to try and cover more <15 hour games for these months. Some strong contenders are Swan Song (Setoguchi classic), Tousui Kitan (a forgotten game by the SubaHibi writer), and Tsui no Stella (KEY game written by Tanaka Romeo).

THE LIST: It continues to grow! I have games for years! Oh god! But still, do give suggestions since it's nice to have a lot to pull from. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WF_2ADCa5UY63yygiElEyGr35UPCf-jfGivuHAeaiqs/edit?gid=0#gid=0

And with that, I conclude this (very long) update. As always, please leave your comments for the Patreon Q&A segment below, and I look forward to hearing you responses to the proposition about changing up how videos are planned and released. See y'all soon! o/
