I was asked by Johnathan Singer to make something that emulated the "Echo" effect in After Effects. After a cold snowy weekend stuck in the lab, I came up with my closest approximation that isn't too heavy on the GPU.With the ability to set the number of echos as well as the time between them (in frames), this plug-in creates some really amazing trail like effects that stand out from a traditional feedback effect. Using either the alpha channel from your input, or a built-in auto mask, this can add depth to all sorts of content.
NOTE: This plug-in has to cache frames for (number of echos * echo distance), so with multiple instances or high values for each, this plug-in can get pretty heavy pretty quick. Use wisely!
