Chapter 6: Illyana Rasputin
Xavier Institute
The midday sun was hitting the gravel path behind the stables, baking the wooden fences until the smell of old pine and dry horse manure hung heavy in the air. Naruto sat on the low stone wall, his bare feet dangling an inch above the weeds. He had his hands jammed into the pockets of his gray sweatpants, his elbows propped on his knees as he watched the far field.
A hundred yards away, Logan was running three of the younger kids through a basic evasion drill. The sound of Logan’s rough voice carried across the grass every time the wind shifted, barking out corrections about footwork and center of gravity. The kids looked exhausted, their shirts soaked through with sweat, their faces bright red under the June heat.
Naruto didn't move. He felt the skin across his shoulders tightening from the sun, but the heat outside was nothing compared to the constant, heavy warmth circulating through his own limbs. Ever since the night in the sub-basement lounge with Kitty, that inner heat had felt different. It was thicker now. It wasn't just a restless energy waiting for a fight; it felt like a physical weight settled deep under his ribs, humming a steady, low note that didn't stop even when he slept.
He knew the girls noticed it. When he passed Jean in the hallway after breakfast, she had stopped dead in her tracks, her fingers gripping her coffee mug so tight her knuckles turned white while her eyes locked onto his chest. Rogue hadn't even come down to the kitchen until she was sure he was outside, though he could see her watching him right now from the corner window of the library on the second floor.
"You are sitting out here like an old dog," a voice said from the shadow of the stable wall.
Naruto didn't blink. He had felt the drop in temperature thirty seconds before she spoke. It wasn't the clean, breezy chill that Kitty left behind when she phased through a wall. This was a dead, heavy cold that smelled like old iron and damp earth, the kind of cold that made the skin on the back of his neck prickle.
Illyana Rasputina stepped out from the shade of the roofline. She was wearing her usual gear despite the heat: heavy black combat boots with the laces wrapped twice around her ankles, dark denim shorts that were frayed at the edges, and an oversized black leather jacket that looked like it had belonged to a mechanic. Her platinum blonde hair was cut straight across her forehead in those sharp, blunt bangs, framing a face that rarely showed anything other than complete boredom or a flat, dangerous challenge.
"Logan's going to make that kid throw up if he keeps making him sprint in the boots," Naruto said, nodding toward the field without looking at her.
"The boy is weak," Illyana said, walking over to the stone wall. She didn't sit down. She stood right in front of him, her shadow falling across his knees. Her dark blue eyes were fixed on the three faint, horizontal lines on his left cheek. "They are all weak. The whole house is stupid."
"Stupid how?"
"Kitty spent the entire morning in the kitchen trying to pour orange juice and kept missing the glass because her fingers wouldn't go soft," Illyana said, her thick Russian accent flattening the words until they sounded like gravel sliding down a chute. "She looks at the floor like she expects it to swallow her. And Jean is hiding in her room with a cold towel over her eyes because her head is too full of everyone else's noise."
Naruto grinned, his lips pulling back to show the slightly pointed edges of his canine teeth. "Maybe they're just having a rough Thursday."
"They are having a rough you," she said bluntly. She reached out, her small, pale hand coming out of the wide sleeve of her leather jacket. Her fingers hovered two inches above his bare knee. "I am not blind, Uzumaki. I see the way the air moves around you. You are leaking something."
"I'm not leaking anything," Naruto said, though he didn't move his leg away from her hand.
"You are," she insisted. She lowered her fingers until the tips of her nails touched the skin right above his kneecap.
The moment the skin-to-skin contact happened, a low, metallic snap echoed between them. It wasn't loud, but it sounded like a car battery shorting out. A circle of black, liquid light the size of a dinner plate flickered on the grass between Naruto’s feet, the edge of a stepping disc trying to force its way through the dirt. The grass inside the circle instantly turned yellow and withered into black ash, but before the portal could open more than an inch, Naruto’s internal heat surged. The orange light beneath his skin flared bright enough to be visible through his tan, and the black disc snapped shut with a sound like tearing paper.
Illyana didn't pull her hand back. Her eyes widened, the dark blue in her pupils suddenly bleeding into a bright, sulfurous yellow that glowed in the shadow of her bangs. Two small, dark ridges of bone began to swell against the skin at her temples, right where her hair parted.
"You powers are confusing," she whispered, her fingers clamping down on his knee with surprising force. Her nails dug into his skin, but the small cuts closed up with a faint hiss of steam before any blood could drop. "The creatures in Limbo usually scream when I open a door. Just now, they went quiet. They hid under the rocks because they are scared."
"Maybe they don't like the sun," Naruto said, his voice dropping into that rough, heavy register he used when his energy started to take over his head. He reached up, his massive, callused hand wrapping completely around her small wrist. His palm was burning hot, the skin dry and rough against her pale skin. "You want to see what I can do?"
Illyana looked down at his grip on her wrist. The black leather of her sleeve was already starting to smell like hot vinyl where his arm was resting against it. "The boys are in the field. Scott is in the office with the professor."
"There's an old maintenance vault under the garage," Naruto said, swinging his legs over the wall and standing up. He didn't let go of her wrist. "The one behind the old oil drums. Nobody goes down there because the floor leaks."
"I know the place," she said, her yellow eyes fixing on his mouth. "It smells like dead rats."
"Then let's go clean it out."
They didn't use the stairs inside the house. Naruto led her through the side door of the tool shed, down a flight of rusted iron steps that led into the old foundation walls from the nineteen-twenties. The air down here was thick with the smell of damp concrete, old grease, and the sour tang of stagnant water that collected in the low spots of the floorboards. There was no ventilation down here, just rows of heavy, dormant iron boilers that looked like giant black bugs sleeping in the dark.
Illyana walked behind him, her heavy boots clunking against the concrete with a slow, steady rhythm. Every few steps, her skin would give off a faint, blue-white spark that died out the moment it hit the heavy air.
At the very back of the cellar, behind three leaking fifty-gallon drums of old tractor fluid, was a heavy wire storage cage. The door was hanging off its hinges, the padlock long since rusted into a solid lump of red metal. Inside, the room was about ten feet square, filled with broken wooden crates, coils of old copper wire, and a single amber light bulb that hung from a frayed black cord near the ceiling.
Naruto pushed the wire door open, the metal screeching against the grit on the floor. He stepped inside, turning around to face her as she followed him.
The moment she crossed the threshold, Illyana kicked the door shut behind her with the heel of her boot. The latch didn't hold, so she jammed an old iron pipe through the mesh to lock it in place. The amber light from the bulb hit her face from above, throwing deep shadows under her eyes and making her pale skin look like old marble.
"No more games, Uzumaki," she said.
She didn't reach for him. Instead, she took a step back, her boots sliding into a wide stance on the grease-stained floor. She took a deep breath, and her chest expanded under the leather jacket. She plunged her right hand into the empty space next to her hip.
The air didn't just open; it cracked. A jagged tear of blue-white fire appeared in the middle of the room, throwing off a spray of white sparks that sizzled against the damp concrete. She gripped something inside the tear, her knuckles tightening, and pulled.
The Soulsword came out of the void with a high, ringing hum that sounded like a saw blade hitting a stone. The blade was four feet of solid, glowing spirit-iron, the edges so sharp they seemed to blur the dark air around them. The light from the sword was a cold, piercing blue that turned the amber room into a slaughterhouse of sharp shadows.
As she held the weapon, the change took her over completely. The dark, black obsidian plates of her Eldritch armor began to grow out of her right arm, the metal scales cracking through the leather sleeve of her jacket like a winter coat of iron. The ridges at her temples lengthened into two curved, black horns that swept back into her blonde hair. Her eyes were pure, liquid gold now, with no white left in them at all.
"The other girls take what you give them because they want to feel your warmth," she growled, her voice dropping into a double-toned snarl that sounded like two people speaking at once, one human, one something very old and very hungry. She raised the sword, the point hovering three inches from his throat. "They want to forget what they are. I do not want to forget. I want to see if your little fire can burn through the dark of Limbo, or if I am going to have to take your head back with me."
Naruto didn't flinch from the cold light of the blade. The orange rings around his pupils expanded until his eyes were completely gold, the slit-vertical pupils locking onto her face. The heat inside him didn't just rise; it boiled over. The air within the wire cage became so hot that the moisture on the iron pipes overhead began to turn into white steam, rising toward the ceiling in long, twisting columns.
"You talk too much when you're scared, Illyana," he said.
He didn't try to dodge. He lunged straight at her, his bare chest moving right past the point of the sword. He didn't care about the magic; he used his speed to close the gap before she could bring the heavy blade around. His large hand slammed down onto her right wrist, his fingers sinking into the gaps between the black armor scales.
The moment his skin made full contact with the armor, the room seemed to lose its weight.
The Soulsword didn't cut him. Instead, the cold blue light in the blade violently turned a deep, bloody shade of sunset orange. The metallic hum of the sword changed to a low, heavy roar, like a forest fire moving through dry timber. The black plates on her arm didn't hold against his grip; they began to blister and flake away, turning into gray ash that smelled like burnt hair before disappearing into the air.
Illyana let out a sharp, gasping choke. Her fingers lost their grip on the hilt. The Soulsword didn't fall to the floor; it simply dissolved back into the orange-tinted void, the tear in the air snapping shut with a dull thud.
She stumbled backward, her heels catching on an old wooden crate. She hit the rusted metal shelving unit behind her, her weight bringing down a rain of old iron bolts, washers, and dry cotter pins that rattled against her leather jacket and scattered across the concrete.
The Eldritch armor on her arm was completely gone, leaving her pale skin bare and covered in a fine layer of sweat that was already steaming from the heat of his hand. Her horns shrunk back into her hairline, and the yellow in her eyes faded back to that dark, stormy blue.
She looked up at him, her chest heaving against her shirt, her mouth open as she tried to get air into her lungs. For the first time since Naruto had arrived at the mansion, she looked completely human, and completely terrified.
"The demons of Limbo," she whispered, her voice shaking so hard her teeth clicked together. "The voices aren't there. I can't hear the portal. The dimension floor... it's just quiet."
"I told you," Naruto said, stepping over the broken crate until his knees were pressing against hers. He leaned forward, placing his hands on the metal shelf on either side of her head, locking her into the small space between his arms. The heat off his chest was hitting her face like an open oven door. "Your monsters don't like the sun. They're too soft for it."
"I am not soft," she snapped, but there was no force behind the words. She reached up, her small hands catching the front of his sweatpants, her fingers digging into the cotton waistband as if she were trying to keep from sliding off the edge of the world. "I am the queen of that place."
"Not down here you aren't," Naruto said.
He dropped his head and caught her mouth with his.
Lemon Scene Ahead
The kiss wasn't a slow or soft. Illyana bit his lip instantly, her teeth sharp enough to draw a thin line of red across his chin, but his blood was so hot it felt like liquid lead when it touched her tongue. Naruto groaned into her throat, his hands leaving the shelves to grip her waist. He lifted her bodily off the floor, slamming her back against the metal unit until the iron frame groaned against the wall.
Illyana wrapped her legs around his hips, her heavy combat boots thumping against the small of his back. She didn't care about the noise. She was clawing at his shoulders, her short nails leaving red tracks down his back that healed over before she could even pull her hands away. Her mouth was wet and frantic, sucking at his tongue, trying to swallow the heat he was pumping into her body through every point of contact.
"Get them off," she muttered against his jaw, her fingers tearing at the waistband of his sweatpants. "Get these clothes of me, Naruto."
Naruto didn't waste time with the buckles or the laces. He hooked his large fingers into the waistband of her denim shorts and pulled down. The old denim gave way with a loud, dry rip, the metal button snapping off and hitting the concrete wall with a sharp ping. He dragged the torn fabric down her legs, along with her black underwear, kicking them away until her bare heels were resting against his shins.
He reached down and hauled his own sweatpants down to his knees. His length freed itself, thick and fully erect, the skin dark red and pulsing with a heavy, rhythmic heat that made the hair on her thighs twitch. He was already leaking a thick, clear fluid from the tip, the moisture smelling like clean sweat and heavy iron.
He didn't check to see if she was ready. He didn't have to. Illyana’s body was already responding to the rush of his life force; she was slick and dripping, her inner thighs wet with a heavy, thick cream.
He guided the blunt head of his length against her opening, the skin there pale and trembling against his heat. He held her hips with both hands, his fingers sinking deep into the flesh of her backside, and drove himself straight in.
Illyana’s mouth flew open, but no sound came out except a dry, rattling hiss. Her back arched completely off the shelving unit, her small breasts flattening against his bare chest as she took the entire length of him in one heavy, unyielding plunge. Her inner walls were tight, almost tight enough to hurt, her flesh clamping down on his shaft with a frantic, rhythmic suction that felt like a fist closing around him.
A small, blue stepping disc tried to open right between their stomachs, a defensive reflex from her magic, but the moment the blue light touched Naruto’s skin, his kinetic energy crushed it. The portal shattered into a handful of dead sparks that fell into the sweat between their bellies.
"Look at me," Naruto growled, his face inches from hers. His breath was hot and smelled like copper.
Illyana opened her eyes. The stormy blue was back, but it was wide and completely focused on his pupils. She looked small under him, her platinum bangs stuck to her forehead with sweat, her lips wet and swollen from his teeth.
"Forget except here and now," he ordered, his hands tightening on her thighs as he pulled her forward and drove into her again. "Look at me."
"I am looking," she gasped, her hands locking behind his neck as he began to find a hard, steady rhythm.
The sound of their bodies hitting was loud in the small wire cage, a wet, heavy slapping that matched the slow thumping of the main water heaters outside the wall. Naruto didn't use any finesse. He used his weight and his strength, driving his hips forward until her backside hit the metal shelf with every stroke. Every time he went deep into her, his kinetic energy would give a low, dull thrum under his skin, sending waves of pure, physical heat directly into her lower stomach.
For Illyana, the sensation was terrifying. It didn't feel like the soft, hazy pleasure she had read about in the old books in the mansion library. It felt like someone had poured liquid iron into her veins. Every time he moved inside her, the heat stripped away another layer of the cold grease that usually coated her thoughts. The grubs, the demons, the lakes of black water from her realm, they were all being pushed back, driven into the corners of her mind by the sheer, heavy presence of his flesh.
"Harder," she whispered, her teeth grazing his earlobe as she shifted her weight, trying to take him even deeper. "Do not let it stop, Naruto. If you stop, they come back."
"They aren't coming back," he said.
He shifted his grip, hooking his arms under her knees and lifting her legs higher until her thighs were pressed against his ribs. The new angle let him drive even deeper, the head of his length bottoming out against her cervix with a dull, heavy thud that made her entire lower belly ripple.
Illyana let out a long, high whimper, her fingers digging into the meat of his upper arms. Her inner walls were pulsing around him in short, frantic spasms, the wetness between them turning into a thick, white froth that coated his groin and dripped down onto her discarded leather jacket on the floor. She was grinding her pelvis against his with every stroke now, her movements clumsy but desperate, her whole body shaking with a tension that had nothing to do with magic.
The heat in the room was getting thicker. The amber light bulb overhead was covered in condensation, the water dripping off the glass and landing on Naruto’s back with a small sizzle.
Naruto increased the pace, his thrusts becoming short, brutal plunges that didn't let her rest. He could feel the ring of her muscle locking down around his shaft, the friction so intense it felt like he was driving into hot sand. His own breath was coming in short, ragged grunts now, his vision blurring around the edges as the gold in his eyes began to burn brighter.
"Naruto..." she choked out, her head rolling back against the rusted iron shelf. Her eyes were rolling back, her eyelids fluttering as the pleasure began to twist into something too large for her body to hold. "I am... I am going to break."
"You're not going to break," he muttered, his teeth catching the skin of her throat, leaving a dark bruise that stayed red. "Hold on."
The climax took her with a sudden, violent force that made her entire body go rigid. Her legs locked around his chest, her toes curling until the leather of her boots creaked. Her inner muscles clamped down on him with a crushing suction, pulsing in a fast, desperate rhythm that felt like she was trying to pull his entire spine out through his groin. She didn't scream; she just held her breath, her chest locked tight, her fingers scratching uselessly against the rusted iron behind him as her body shook with wave after wave of thick, heavy heat.
Naruto felt his own limit give way a second later. He drove himself into her one last time, his hips locking tight against her pelvis, and let go.
The release was massive. He filled her completely with a thick, scalding rush of his seed, the fluid pumping into her deep inside with a force that made her lower belly swell against his hip bones. At the same instant, his bio-kinetic energy flared in one final, blinding circle of orange light that filled the entire wire cage, turning the shadows white for a single beat before dying down into a low, quiet hum that settled into the concrete.
Illyana slid down the metal shelf, her boots hitting the concrete with a dull thud. She didn't stand up; her knees gave way instantly, and she sat down hard on her discarded leather jacket, her back resting against the rusted iron frame. Her legs were spread wide, her pale thighs streaked with sweat and the white cream that was slowly leaking out of her opening, pooling on the dark concrete between her heels.
Lemon Scene End
Naruto stood over her for a second, his breath still heavy, his sweatpants down around his shins. He pulled them back up to his waist, his skin still giving off a faint, pleasant warmth that felt like a dying campfire.
Illyana didn't move her hair out of her eyes. She sat in the dirt, her head tilted back against the metal, her small chest rising and falling in slow, deep cycles. The stormy blue of her eyes was completely clear, the pupils large and steady as she stared up at the amber bulb.
"The voices are very quiet," she said after five minutes had passed. Her voice was thin, the double-tone completely gone, leaving only the flat, dry Russian accent.
"I told you," Naruto said, sitting down on an old wooden crate opposite her. He leaned his elbows on his knees, watching her. "They don't like the light."
"It is not just the light," she said, turning her head to look at him through her bangs. Her face looked pale, but there was a faint, healthy pink along her cheekbones that hadn't been there before. "It is your very essence. Everything usually feels like it is made of paper, Naruto. The walls, the people, the sky. Like I could put my hand through it and find nothing but grease. But you... you are different."
"I'm pretty solid," he agreed, reaching out and tapping the toe of her boot with his bare foot.
"Do not do that," she said, though she didn't move her leg away. She reached down, picked up the sleeve of her leather jacket, and used it to wipe the sweat from her throat. "Logan will smell you on me. He has the nose of a dog."
"Let him smell it," Naruto said, his gold eyes narrowing slightly as he looked toward the door. "He knows where the basement is if he wants to come down."
Illyana let out a small, short sound that might have been a laugh if she had let it finish. She leaned forward, pulling her knees up to her chest and wrapping her arms around them, her chin resting on her kneecaps. She looked small like that, like the little girl the professor had found in the snow all those years ago, before the swords and the armor.
"The other girls are going to be angry," she said, her eyes fixing on the white fluid that was still slow-dripping onto her jacket.
"They'll get over it," Naruto said. He stood up, offering her his hand. "Come on. The sun's going down. If we stay down here any longer, Scott's going to think we stole his car again."
Illyana looked at his large, hot hand for a long moment before she reached out and took it. He hauled her up with one easy motion, her small frame bumping against his chest before she found her balance on her boots. She didn't pull her hand back right away; she let her fingers stay locked in his for a three-count, testing the warmth, making sure the dark wasn't coming back just yet.
"You are a very stupid boy, Naruto," she whispered, her bangs brushing his chin as she turned toward the wire door.
"Yeah," he said, pushing the iron pipe out of the mesh and letting the cage door swing open with a long, rusty scream. "But you like that about me."
