So three months late on starting this series but here's the first of the Naruto sequences for the year.
This is actually a bit older compared to others, it was one of the first sequence series we ever planned along with Year of the Bunny but it had some issues with the like, file sizes and things and it's sat on the back burner for a while just because it was sort of a pain.
The images are still on the smaller end but hopefully they're enjoyable.
Another way you can tell they're older is how many damn panels there are in the middle compared to our modern approach! Flash is ultimately the one who volunteered to rescue this series from the 'pile' and so he did a majority of the writing on them so I'll let him talk about it.
Flash's thoughts:So this series because it was created before Rabbit began following Fenek's example, the middle panels don't have any specific cause or focus to them. Rather they just show naruto's transformation in a sort of montage layout. So I opted for a mostly shared set up at the start and then the middle is a mix of Naruto's thoughts as the disguise takes over, and then text from other characters explaining what he's actually signed up for.
In this case it's pretty straightforward, diplomacy is a pretty prevalent element in Naruto and the lords and executives are depicted as fairly shallow so i thought this would be a decent in-universe 'reason' for this to happen. I debated a french accent but decided not to.
