Hey, friends! Given that we have some new patrons (welcome!!!), we wanted to update ya’ll on a few things:
- I hope everyone is enjoying Side 6 Soundwaves! Everyone is putting in their all to produce consistently high-quality commentary each week, and we couldn’t be happier. We’re currently in the process of hashing out a guest list for the back-half of Gquuuuuux, which we’ll reveal via BlueSky and Discord in two-three weeks.
- Good news: I’ve contacted Graeme Campbell, the director of G-Saviour! I’ve been asking him questions about the film’s production to fact check my history, ensuring that it’s as accurate as possible. Make sure to read the endnotes for at least one juicy bit of trivia!
- Bad news: As a result of this correspondence, we had to delay the zine. I plan to finish the writing by 5/5, with the goal of having a 1st draft done by mid-May. Assuming we stick to deadlines, that means Giant Robot Fan Magazine No. 4 will probably arrive in your mailbox in early July.
- Despite the delay, work on the next zine will start next month. I hope to have the 1st draft done by mid-July. The turnaround on this one should be shorter.
- Due to the workload of S6S, we decided to space out our two remaining Megazone 23 records (covering Part III) to give us some breathing room. We’re scheduled to record the first of this set next Tuesday.
- We’re still on track to kick off our Tomino book club in early June.
- Our next State Machine probably won’t be until the summer.
