DESCRIPTION

TLDR: I’m making steady progress. Elf Butler sim Demo should be up at the end of March

As many of you may have noticed, the updates have been slow the past two months. I wanted to update Patreon to keep people in the loop and clear up some details about the production of my current project.

I'm making a game where you play as a gnome butler to several attractive elven women while trying to survive random “street” events involving cruel elvish pedestrians. It'll be a resource management game where you spend time and effort to earn money, which you can use to improve your etiquette and skills, which can then be used to earn more money to put towards an end goal amount.

It is still very much a visual novel-style game with all of the events and rewards being traditional scenes you've come to expect from magical mishaps, but the added elements should make it feel more interactive than the mainline magical mishaps games. My hope is for this to be a fun standalone game that could introduce new people to my work without the daunting process of “catch-up” on the mainline series.

January: I made a prototype of the game with all placeholder images and completed much of the writing and character designs. The script for just the main girls is about 50% longer than a magical mishaps chapter, without any of the random street event scenes finished.

February: I have been mostly focused on drawing scenes for the main girls and doing some minor editing. I’ll need to spend some time on writing the random events at some point, but I thought it was important to get images out to keep people interested.

Plans for next month: I’m aiming to finish the project this month, but realistically, it will likely take an extra month beyond my usual 3-month development time. I plan on finishing the majority of the drawings at least. This is a hard decision to make, as release months are extremely important to my income, and even one extra month is going to hit me hard. I’m considering preparing a demo instead of a full release at the end of this month and pushing the completed game in the following month.
