It seems a lot of you appreciated my last artwork featuring Tracer and her new little shoe bug - thank you so much for the support on this piece :)

While I've recently talked about how 3D artists tend to cheat to make their artworks look their best while saving precious rendering resources, it's funny to see that this new comics is pretty much the same outside of the camera's view. Sometimes, a scenario just  is simple enough that you can allow yourself to pose everything right, add as much content in there as you need and still render in a decent amount of time.

In this case, you can see that Tracer is really holding the shoe and the tiny is actually in there, absolutely minuscule compared to her looming face. I mean, he could probably run a few laps in there!

For the second time, I've tried playing with volumetric lighting and particles to make the inside of Tracer's shoe more gritty and believable. You can see it on the inshoe render with the grey particles of dust floating around, often out of focus, and the ray of light beaming into the shoe. While it may not seem like it, this little maneuver cost me 10h of additional rendering time as it heavily altered how light was bouncing around the place. What's more, it created a stronger strain on my CPU as it needed to manage the 1000 little particles floating around, each also reflecting the light in their own way! I'd love to hear what you think of it - as putting it in the scene definitely takes efforts and time.

Overall, it was an amazing project to work on that I had been wanting to make since I started playing around with Blender. Inshoe scenarios are some of my all time favorites and adding Tracer to the mix is just awesome in my mind.

Would you like to see more of these two? Do you have questions regarding this was made? Make sure to let me know! :)
