Hey folks,
So, I'll jump right into what's going on, I mentioned it quickly over on the Discord but put it off posting here for reasons that will become apparent.
Shortly after New Years, I had a family emergency come up. An immediate family member went into the hospital, with words like 'heart attack' being thrown around along with other issues. I've spent the last several days in and out of the hospital/ICU, along with managing the ongoing mental health stuff with my sister that I've talked about before. Suffice it to say, other than a few moments when compartmentalizing was a good thing and I got some work done in a hospital cafeteria, I haven't super been in the mood to write fun, sexy stories.
The good news is that my family member is bouncing back from this weird medical episode in a slow fashion, and should be returning home sometime on the weekend once they are well into their recovery. Also, we're all Canadian, so we aren't going to get slapped with a big ol' bill or anything.
I've just posted the last 5k I owed from December on the Red Flags alpha story, along with an additional 5k to cover January sponsorship of it since it was easier for me to just keep writing and not try and wrap my mind around something else.

As you can see, the Sponsors didn't really spread around their picks this month very well. Apparently I'm writing too many cliffhangers or something?
I'm also planning a proper January 2026 update with a bit more meat on it.
Other Stuff
My brain is a little fried, and chasing some cheap endorphins at the end of the night with shitty reality TV is about all I can manage for a bit, so no fun asides here at the moment.
I hope y'all are having a better start to this year than I am. And, just to head it off because I often have very sweet people offering advice/help when I mention something in my update - we're good on parsing medical info/doc talk, thank you. There are specialists helping manage the situation and start processing recovery, and they are doing a great job making themselves understood by us plebs.
