Late last night, while playing Helldivers 2 and simultaneously programming the Dirtywave M8, I had an idea about the Techno Template for the Octatrack. What if I swapped the master track for a Static/Flex track (aka sample playback) with various noise samples for different riser effects? We'd still retain the 8-bar looper but would lose the Master EQ (which I suspect isn't widely used) and the master beat repeat, though the individual beat repeat effects would remain. This seems like a smart trade-off. Imagine having real noise risers that can be time-stretched to any tempo. It's an exciting concept I previously explored in one of my earliest templates but abandoned in favor of additional loopers.
In other news, I'm almost finished editing a tutorial video on the EZ Drummer effect for the Octatrack. Also, soundcheck last week was a blast, thank you to all who attended.
