Y'all are in for another long one! This time with lots of build up and lots of sapphic fun when the build up is finally paid off! I hope you guys enjoy!
Also here's the picture this was inspired by/based on!
“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.” Sofia whispered, the stillness of world fast asleep surrounding her endlessly repeated nightly prayer, “Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.”
A sound beyond the half opened window of her modest, unfurnished room pulled her attention away from the cross upon the wall. And nearly pulled her to her feet as she instinctively looked to the starry sky beyond the Abbey that was her... home. Though she knew it was nothing Sofia wanted dearly to rise to her feet and gaze out the window at whatever was rustling about in the bushes. Especially as the sounds came to a stop and she was left alone with herself once more. Alone in the only moments of privacy afforded to her and with naught but a flickering candle to keep her company.
As well as the Lord, of course, “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” She continued, ignoring the ache in her knees as she knelt upon the cold stone, “For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever... Amen.”
Finally pushing herself up from the edge of her bed Sofia couldn't help but let out an exhausted groan as she did. Nor could she stop her eyes from straying listlessly to the window once more. The little stone wall surrounding the abbey and the scattered trees beyond it. The urge to simply walk the length of that all encompassing barrier was so great she felt it's pull like she'd once felt her calling to the Church. To God. But dressed as she was in her modest nightgown she couldn't leave her room without risking another reprimand from Mother Gianna, no doubt after Sister Abigail reported the transgression. Sofia would simply have to find contentment in the dreams that were her escape. She certainly couldn't spend another moment reading her Bible by candlelight. Even glancing at it as it lay open on the table beside her bed filled Sofia with the most profound exhaustion. So much so she dropped onto her bed before she could even think twice.
A moment later she was stretched out across the uncomfortable yet functional bedding, an arm draped across her face in some vain attempt to shield herself from the moonlight spilling into her room. Of course she swiftly pulled it away to blow out the candle she'd forgotten about, easily finding one final excuse to look out the window as best she could. But in the time it took the wisping curls of smoke rising from her candle to fade she'd turned away from the window entirely. Pulling the covers over her body then over her face Sofia let out a quiet sigh. Not quite loud enough to be heard by the Sisters undoubtedly still awake on either side of her but more than loud enough to feel like a peal of thunder in the quiet. Especially in the absence of anything else she might've expected from so pleasant a night.
The absence of any crickets or owls or wolves howling at the rising moon should've held more sway in Sofia's thoughts but she was too distracted with her own malaise to consider anything. And far too preoccupied trying to fall asleep to worry about the cause of such a long and unflinching silence. She simply closed her eyes, slowed her breathing as best she could, and tried to think as little as possible while she lay there in the dark. Hidden away from the rest of the world and even the pale comfort of the moon slowly drifting across the heavens. Though she could scarcely keep her thoughts entirely empty no matter what she tried.
Instead she simply focused on pushing away anything that might distract or tempt. Everything that could lead her away from her room and out onto the grounds of the abbey where she had no business treading. At least according to Mother Gianna and the other Sisters. And were it not for the utter exhaustion of another trying day she might've struggled. Instead her eyes fluttered shut of their own accord and her thoughts grew ever more scattered.
With only a final, sleepy little notion to pierce the haze before she drifted off entirely, “Perhaps tomorrow... tomorrow I can... ask Mother Gianna... to let me... to let me... journey into town... for a time...”
The deafening sound of wings beating at the air as some great, unknowable beast soared through her room pulled Sofia from her sleep in a frantic burst of movement. She lurched upright with a gaps before her eyes had even opened and wildly flailed her arms about her head. All the world around her was an indistinct void of shadow as her bleary gaze darted about the room. Though the thunder of those wings had stopped her heart continued to pound and adrenaline continued to lance through her body like bolts of lighting. Kicking away the blanket covering her and all but tumbling out of her bed without so much as a flicker of moonlight to guide her Sofia gasped and panted in an ever growing panic as she tried to make sense of what she'd heard.
Tried to make sense of anything when her mind was a tangle mess and her heart threatened to erupt in her chest. She couldn't even question what she'd heard or know for certain it hadn't simply been another part of her dream. There was no time to think of such things as she scrambled to her feet and blinked away the haze still clouding her eyes. Even rubbing them with both hands while she looked around her room as if expecting some great beast to be waiting for her. Or maybe an Angel sent by God to speak with her on His behalf.
Sadly she found nothing but darkness pierced by only the faintest glimmer of light spilling in from the stars above. Certainly no terrifying monster waiting to devour her or indeed anything worthy of such an uncontrollable reaction. Not unless a single raven perched on the window sill warranted her abject, mindless panic.
“You're just... why would I... but it sounded so much louder...” Sofia panted, her voice barely audible amidst her gasping and her tone growing ever more exasperated as she started to calm down at long last, “You're just a regular bird...”
Watching her with an inquisitive air the raven, or perhaps it was a crow, didn't seem to react to anything Sofia had done. Neither her panicked state nor the quiet words that followed elicited anything as the bird stared at her with one shimmering black eye. It certainly wasn't frightened of her presence! Even as she approached it with every intention of shooing the creature away. Like some strangle little sentinel it just watched.
“You've had your fun!” She murmured, waving one hand at the bird, “You can leave now.” When it didn't respond after a few seconds Sofia waved her hand again and added, a bit more forcefully, “Go on! Leave! Leave!” But still the bird didn't react. Not even when she was standing over it and practically battering the animal with her wild gestures. It simply looked up at her with those inscrutable eyes and remained almost perfect still. Were it not for the shifting of it's head it would've passed for a statue, “Go! Get out of here you strange little thing!”
Slowly tilting it's head to one side as it seemed to stare right through her the crow didn't react to a thing Sofia was doing. Nor did it make so much as a sound. In the most inexplicable way she'd ever seen it just... watched her... just watched and watched without end. And when she put her hands on the window sill beside it, trying to find the courage to simply grab the odd little bird and physically remove it from her presence, it betrayed no reaction whatsoever. It merely stared so fixedly and so curiously Sofia almost felt embarrassed to be standing before it in her nightgown. Despite it covering every inch of her body save her hands and head she felt almost... vulnerable before the thing. To call it a bird felt more and more inaccurate as the seconds passed and it remained unnatural stoic in her presence. Unnaturally interested in her as it stared for what must've been a minute straight. Perhaps even a little while longer, it was impassible to say.
A strange sense of apprehension slowly filled Sofia's heart and before she could stop herself she was pulling away from the animal. Nervously clasping her hands before her stomach she let out a noise caught between a sigh and a gasp. An instant later she took a step back and idly glanced out at the world beyond her room.
“Oh my God...”
Though the stars still twinkled across the heavens and the trees were still bent and twisted in their aged forms a dull, pulsing red glow was shining in the horizon. Almost like light of dawn but somehow... wrong. Far deeper red than any sunlight she'd ever seen and far weaker than so brilliant a creation of God it didn't belong. Sofia knew it as soon as she laid eyes upon the light illuminating the horizon and yet she couldn't look away. Something about it called out to her like the sirens of old Greek stories. But so much more worrisome in a manner she struggled to understand.
Pulsating with a strange rhythm akin to a heartbeat, akin to her own heartbeat, it seemed to glow ever brighter as she watched. Yet never bright enough to banish the darkness of the starry sky. Never so bright as to replace the absent moon. Instead it seemed to... join the gloom. To reach into the night in ways no light ever should. Sofia could see it casting new shadows among the trees, every one stretching out towards the abbey like some vast searching hand, but still the stars shimmered unaffected and the darkness remained. And always the light seemed to grow in strength. Seemed to bloom like it truly was the rising sun yet without any of the warmth not joy the sun was meant to bring. Only a deep, pervading sense of unease and uncertainty.
Reflexively making the sign of the cross as she took a step back Sofia reached for the plain wooden crucifix hanging about her neck. But she only found the slightly damp fabric of her nightgown beneath her fingers. And when she looked down at her chest in surprise the sound of flapping wings filled the air once more. Deafened her all over again.
She recoiled with hands over her ears and watched as the crow leapt from the window sill and into her room. Sofia stumbled backwards as fast as her legs could carry her, slamming into the wall so hard it stole away her breath as the bird flew towards her. Yet before it collided with her chest as it surely meant to the animal turned. The wind cast by it's wings was like a maelstrom tearing through her room, though nothing but her already tousled locks were disturbed. She didn't even feel the cloth about her trembling body shift despite how thunderous every beat of those small wings seemed. Even as the creature circled above her for several moments. Sofia couldn't form a single thought within the gale yet not even the pages of her bible fluttered or shifted at the raven's passing. Even when it suddenly turned away from Sofia entirely and glided out of her room without so much as chirp. The howling winds it left in it's wake faded almost immediately and yet there no sign of them ever existing. Save the unbearable stillness left in it's wake.
“What on earth was that?” Sofia whimpered, her voice barely audible as she slumped against the wall and slid all the way down to the floor. Her hands fell away from her ears as she gasped and panted like she'd sprinted through the forest, “What sort of unholy trickery is this?!”
Clumsily rising to her feet as she spoke Sofia watched the light on the horizon grow. She could feel it on her skin as it shone through the window and bathed her room in a shadowy radiance unlike anything she'd ever seen. Unlike anything that should've been possible. There was no heat to be found and yet she felt the light against her body as if it were born of the sun, entirely unlike the stars or moon or any other. And the longer she bathed in it the greater her fear. But the greater her fascination too. She didn't have the faintest notion of how to react but somehow knew in her soul she couldn't merely stand there forever. Sofia didn't know what might befall her if she did, only that she had to something, anything, else.
So in a fit of mindless fear and abject worry she stumbled towards the window as fast as her legs would carry her. And without any concern to the Sisters sleeping blissfully unaware all around her she pulled the shutters closed with an echoing clatter. As hard as she could and with all the desperation of a woman saving her life she slammed them shut as hard as her trembling arms could manage while a terrified whimper punctuated her frantic actions.
But it wasn't enough. The light continued to shine through the cracks with all the same strength as before. Still pulsing endlessly like beat of an great, unseen heart. It may have even shone brighter after she tried to shut it away but Sofia didn't remain long enough to say for certain. She was far too busy turning away in a frantic and altogether mindless bid to find the crucifix she normally wore. And as soon as she retrieved it from the floor next to her bedside table she snatched up her Bible and held it out before her without any conviction at all. Certainly nowhere near enough to overwhelm the red glow oh so inexorably creeping into her room. Spreading like a wildfire and shrouding everything like some virulent disease. And bearing down upon her like some great, unceasing pressure forcing her back step by step no matter what she did. No matter how quickly she prayed or how desperately she gripped her cross and Bible. It simply kept growing and growing and growing until it felt like she would be crushed beneath it's might. Until her back was flat against the wall and she couldn't breathe.
Then it was gone. Without a sound or a reaction of any sort the light disappeared. Vanished entirely and left Sofia standing in the darkness of her room without the slightest understand of what'd just happened to her. Only a flood of terrifying questions she didn't truly want the answers to. And yet couldn't help but seek out all the same.
Too stunned to think or breathe or do much of anything beyond stare Sofia was entirely lost to the whims of her instincts. A bystander in her own body left following it's wake as she stumbled across her room without any sense nor restraint. And though her hands shook almost uncontrollably as she reached for the shutters there was no stopping herself. Much as she told herself she didn't want to see what lurked on the other side of those thin wooden slats there was no resisting the allure of well and truly knowing. Seeing for herself what'd happened. Even the fear of it stole away her breath and ravished her body with nervous tremors. But still she pushed the shutters open all the same, flinching away from the window as they swung outwards and letting out a tiny whimper.
Yet for all her fear and all the certainty that she was approaching some sort of doom Sofia found nothing waiting for her. Nothing at all. Only a quiet forest lit by the stars twinkling in the heavens and nary so much as a flicker of that unnatural light. As if it'd never existed at all. Or something had merely snuffed it out like a candle. It was impossible to say which she might've preferred but both left Sofia awash in a profound sense of unease.
And it refused to depart even as she stared out at the once comforting sight of the forest, breathing in the cool air and watching the stars shining so high above. No matter how long she lingered at the window with her hands clenching the sill and her body tightened like a drawn bow Sofia found neither relief or understanding. Only an endless flood of questions while her heart continued to pound within her chest almost as feverishly as it had when that unholy glow was inescapably bright. At times she was almost convinced her heart was somehow beating even faster. As if it spoke of something she couldn't yet see or understand.
“It was a dream...” She told herself, her voice low and hoarse and utterly lacking in conviction, “It was only a dream... a-a nightmare... perhaps Sister Agatha's cooking didn't agree with me again!” Sofia forced a smile onto her face and forced her hands to release the window sill she clutched so tight, “Or I've fallen ill again... such nightmares aren't uncommon with a fever!”
Of course, she found little comfort in those words and even less in the thought of prayer or reading scripture. Nothing could truly assuage her fears even before she tried to turn away only to freeze mid stride as something caught her eye. And upon turning back towards the forest Sofia was left more uncertain than ever before...
A flickering orange glow slowly lit up the shadowed horizon, casting away the darkness and dancing like crackling flames. It spread across the breadth of all she could see until the edges where the heavens met the earth were thrown into sharp relief and much of the sky seemed engulfed by the lights. Yet for all it's strangeness the new light bore no similarity at all to what she'd seen. Even if Sofia was left asking just as many questions. If nothing else she could see the unmistakable flicker of an ever spreading fire and know it was far from the frightening display she'd seen before. Until she thought beyond herself and realized something perhaps even more terrifying.
“That's... that's coming from the direction of Balthasar's Folly!” She gasped, finally realizing what should've been obvious from the outside, “Oh God! Th-The village is on fire!”
Turning away from the window without a second thought she hurried to wardrobe and fumbled with a clean habit. Though all but certain she couldn't provide any meaningful aid at all to the people of Balthasar's Folly she still dressed herself as quickly as her clumsy hands might allow. And still hurried out of her room as if she would play some pivotal role in sparing the town it's fiery doom. At least until she was distracted from that 'simple' goal upon knocking on the very first door beside her own.
Swinging open at the first tap with a long, echoing creek it opened wide to reveal an empty room and a neatly made bed absent the woman who should've been sleeping within, “Sister Juliana?” Sofia called out, stepping inside and looking around for a moment as if Sister Juliana was simply hiding in the corner waiting to be found, “Are you—”
Unwittingly cutting herself off after a moment or two Sofia stared at the empty room with a growing confusion before turning away and hurrying to the next door. She knocked on it just the same as the last and watched it swing open without resistance just the same as the last. “S-Sister Victoria?”
But the room was just as empty as the previous and Sofia didn't linger for more than a second or two before doubling back to check another room. Then another. Then another after that as she ran the length of the hall, “Sister Abigail?! Sister Mary?! Sister Miriam?! Sister Priscilla?! Sister Teresa?!” Yet no matter how many rooms she checked all of them were empty. All of them were left in pristine condition as if the Sisters that should've been sleeping within had just left them. Even Mother Gianna was nowhere to be found.
“What on earth is going on?!” Sofia cried, turning away from Mother Gianna's room in a state of near disarray, “Where've they all gone?!”
With nowhere else to go and more questions than she ever thought possible Sofia left the living quarters altogether and hurried through the rest of the abbey. Though she hadn't entirely forgotten about the fire almost certainly ravishing Balthasar's Folly the sudden disappearance of all the other nuns was too great a worry to simply ignore. Especially in the wake of her terrifying experience before she'd notice the flames! She had no sensical reason to believe the two were related but as she hurried through a silent, empty abbey without a single sign of her Sisters it was impossible not to worry. Not to let her mind run absolutely wild long before she'd burst out onto the grounds in the desperate hope they'd unanimously decided to visit the chapel without her. All the while knowing that she wouldn't find even a single one of them within. Although she never quite made that far.
An errant glance at the horizon, and the flames still dancing unabated across it, tore away any thought she might've had of reaching the chapel. Or indeed doing anything more than freezing mid stride as that profound sense of unease rippled through her once again. Only this time Sofia wasn't left without any comprehensible reason. No, this time she understood immediately and completely what left her so entirely paralyzed with surprise and uncertainty.
Standing on the horizon silhouetted by the flames was a shadowy figure. Barely large enough to stand out amongst the trees Sofia peered through yet somehow large enough to demand her attention the stranger seemed to be watching the fires crackling before them. Their back was undeniably turned to Sofia and everything about the way they stood spoke of a confidence and fearlessness that shouldn't have been present. Not in anyone watching so horrific a sight unfolding before them. And yet it hardly took any effort to glean why the figure was so unaffected by the fire. Because the moment Sofia noticed them she noticed the horns curling from the sides of their head. Jutting out and twisting up high above them they pierced the night and stood in sharp relief to the glow of the fire the stranger was so calmly watching. And because that horrifying fact wasn't unholy enough Sofia could just barely see what was almost certainly a tail swishing through the air behind the otherwise indistinct figure. Though much of it's features were lost amidst the dancing shadows that much seemed clear as could be in the most unsettling of ways.
And then the demon turned to look at her.
The very moment Sofia tried to move again, to take a step towards the figure without ever realizing where she was truly going, it looked to her. She saw the horns atop it's head move in an unmistakable way and felt another's eyes upon her. Even in the darkness shrouding much of the abbey with little more than the stars to illuminate her the demon seemed to know exactly where she stood. It seemed to pierce her very soul with that simple stare. And though she wanted nothing more than to look away as soon as she was discovered Sofia couldn't move. Like she'd been turned to stone she could only stay exactly where she stood and meet the beast's gaze.
“Oh God...” She whispered, cursing as much as praying. Her blood ran cold and her heart seemed to freeze within her chest as she saw what could only have been the glint of the monster's eyes shining in the darkness. Reflecting the fires at it's back or perhaps revealing the flames burning within it, “Oh God! Oh God! Oh God!”
Any sane person would've made for the chapel. Would've sprinted into that holy place and barred the doors no matter what came. But lost as she was and overwhelmed as she was Sofia never once considered it. Nor even the abbey she'd emerged from. Instead, in a blind panic she dropped to her knees and crawled along the earth in some desperate bid to evade the demon's gaze. She crawled towards the waist high wall surrounding the abbey and flattened against it as if the beast couldn't find her. As if it hadn't watched her flee, the weight of it's attention sitting heavy upon her very soul the entirety of her flight. And upon reaching the comforting sturdiness of cold, hard stone against her back Sofia slumped against it without any thought or plan. She struggled to even draw breath much less decide upon another course of action. The very best she could think of was slinking down just a little bit further to avoid the top of the wall as if that would matter in the slightest.
Though for all the stupidity of her 'plan' it almost seemed to work for the nerve wracking moments immediately after she reached the wall. Sofia heard nothing, felt nothing, and sensed nothing. She was still awash in adrenaline and abject terror and she could still see the soft glow of the flames dancing across the walls of the abbey but the demon seemed to have remained where it stood. Almost as if it'd missed her frantic retreat. Even if calling her scramble a retreat would've been laughable. As far as Sofia knew most retreats didn't put someone closer to the cause of their fear!
“It will leave.” Sofia told herself. “It will leave. No demon could set foot on consecrated ground.” She added, still overwhelmed by the mere sight and existence of a demon in the first place, “N-No demon could set foot on consecrated—”
Her voice died in her throat and all the blood drained from her face as she glanced at the flickering shadows alighting on the walls of the abbey. For just a moment longer than they should've some of the shadows seemed to... linger. To grow even sharper and remain while the others continued to dance before the endlessly crackling flames. And it almost seemed to take the shape of the very figure she'd fled from!
Closing her eyes the moment she glimpsed that terrifying sight Sofia wildly shook her head and grabbed at the crucifix hanging around her neck. But she could think of no prayers to utter nor scripture to recite. Even after a lifetime spent studying the Bible she was entirely lost. The very most she could manage was holding on to her cross for dear life and hoping against hope her imagination was only playing tricks on her. Or perhaps even better she was lost in another terrible nightmare and she would wake in her bed at any moment. That was all she could think to pray for as she refused to open her eyes for an unimaginably long time. What felt like minutes upon minutes. Surely the whole of Balthasar's Folly would've burned down already... Surely there would be no flames left to cast such easily misconstrued shadows upon the wall... Surely she could open her eyes again and find herself all alone without any demons in sight...
Keeping her eyes shut a few moments after those thoughts Sofia was almost too afraid to open them again. Beads of sweat rolled down her face and soaked the already damp fabric of her habit as she did her very best to rationalize her actions. Or if nothing else face her doom head on as she slowly forced her eyes open at long last.
But there was no sign of a shadowy figure upon the wall. No hint of another presence looming over her and approaching with some monstrous intent. Only the same orange glow and flickering shadows as before. And that was—
“Oh God!”
All but emerging from the wild dance of shadows cast by the trees a figure appeared on the weathered old stone of the abbey. Standing taller than any mortal should, and stretching even farther as it's wicked horns near pierced the roof, it watched her as though the shadow itself was alive. Sofia felt the weight of it stretching across her and the sheer presence of the monster casting it was like a great pressure stifling her soul but somehow the silhouette of the demon was the most terrifying aspect. The way it's head, shrouded by wavy tresses, seemed to tilt to the side like a curious animal surveying it's soon to be prey. Or the way she could all but sense the smile spreading across the demon's face just from the look of it's shadow. As surely as she could feel it's hands alight upon the stone only a few inches above her head and smell the acrid stench of smoke and sulfur clogging the air.
But still the beast said nothing... did nothing... it simply stood above her with an unmistakable air of amusement. And Sofia was too afraid to even look up at the fingers she knew were scraping at the stone with a monstrous hunger. She was too afraid to do much of anything beyond staring straight ahead with a wide eyed look of dread, tears rolling down her cheeks alongside the sweat as her body trembled and her heart pounded within her chest.
One by one the seconds crept by. One by one the last moments of her life slipped through her fingers as she remained too fearful to even act. She didn't even notice her hand falling away from her crucifix while she sat there in abject terror. Sofia merely waited for the inevitable end as fear gripped her heart so tightly she could scarcely breathe and her very blood ran could.
“Why do you cower bride of God... you have nothing to fear... the Lord is with you...”
Silky sweet and overflowing with unspoken promise every word pierced Sofia's heart and assaulted her soul with an untamed malice beyond anything she'd ever felt. Not even the most cruel, depraved mortals she'd suffered in the presence of could match even a moment of the demon's gleeful cruelty. It's voice was truly unbearable and yet she found herself hanging on every word. On the harsh, unnatural intonations all at once so smooth and feminine she could feel a flush creeping into her cheeks unbidden and wholly unwelcome. The very same fingers curling into fists against the earth as Sofia strained to hold back her voice and fight back the thoughts leaping unbidden into her mind. Or rather slithering into her thoughts like so many snakes.
And though she knew she might've saved herself with a prayer, perhaps even leaping to her feet with cross outstretched before her, Sofia remained entirely silent. Even forming a single word felt so entirely beyond her the thought of stringing together an entire prayer was laughable. She'd sooner banish the Devil himself back to hell or call down the wrath of Heaven upon the beast looming over her. Even the simple act of keeping herself from gasping in fear and crying out in terror was so great a strain she struggled to remain upright. Collapsing to the ground in a terrified heap would've been so much easier and so much less trouble than resisting the inevitable. Surely the demon would lose interest if she simply allowed it to have it's fun and then depart? Surely it would seek out more interesting prety or be run off by her Sisters when they returned from... from wherever they'd gone. It seemed silly to even make an effort when—
“No!” Sofia thought, stiffening against the wall and shutting her eyes tight, “G-Get out of my head foul creature! Get out of my head!”
The presence she hadn't truly noticed until it's claws were sinking into her soul withdrew and the demon above her laughed. “Brave little bride of God... but I see your thoughts... I know the faith you lack... and what you truly desire...”
Every gleeful word seemed to linger in the air like a gathering storm, bearing down upon Sofia and ravishing her with unspoken promises. With temptations and vices she'd long suppressed and thought to forever avoid with the walls of the abbey. And the greater their presence the more terrified she was of giving in. So terrified she finally found the strength to speak as she whispered, “O-Our Father, who a-a-art in Heaven, hallowed be-be thy—”
“What does God offer you?” The demon asked, “What has ever offered his bride? While your sisters bask in his love and speak of his devotion you feel... you feel nothing. Less than nothing... you feel the absence of the Almighty who loves you so dearly...
Dripping with venom yet strangely comforting and impossibly reassuring every word from the demon's lips struck true in the most insidious ways. Sofia knew not to believe a word of it and yet there was no denying what the beast said. Much as she wished she could resume her prayer and never stop praying the words had rung hollow before she'd even been interrupted. And trying to speak them again after the demon's temptation felt more impossible than ever. Though some part of her still knew what an unimaginable mistake she was making even considering the words of a fallen angel for so much as a second. Much less remaining in the presence of such an unspeakable evil in the first place!
“What loyalty has God earned of you?” It asked, it's voice almost a whisper even as it seemed to ring out across the night, “What might you owe the Almighty? The fool who created you as you are... in his image... and damns you for straying in even thought... He made you as you are and damns you for the gall of being what you were made to be... doing what you feel in your heart...”
Wincing at near every word Sofia finally opened her eyes again as the devastation of those words rang out in the night. The demon had said everything she'd ever thought. Put words to the misgivings forever lingering under the surface of her holy veneer. And hearing it all laid so unabashedly bare, even from such an unholy creature, was a fresh kind of torment she'd never dreamed of. Worse even than every terror she'd been warned of as a child when the priests spoke of Hell.
But something within her refused to give in. Even when every other part was begging to accept whatever twisted promises were being offered she resisted. Or if not resisted then simply didn't give in when she so dearly wished it. But neither did she have the strength to truly fight back. To resume her prayers or brandish her crucifix or do anything else that might spare her from more. Because no matter what she might've thought or felt, Sofia wanted to hear the demon speak again. She wanted to know what it promised and perhaps feel a hint of the certainty it seemed to speak with. Or even simply a shred of the same affection her Sisters claimed to enjoy when they spoke of God's love. She'd already felt more from the unholy beast looming over her than anything from the supposed Almighty. Though a small part of her was certain those feelings were born of the demon too.
“I... I can't...” She whispered, unsure of what she was even speaking about and unable to raise her voice past the tiniest, faintest whimper, “I can't... I-I-I... I can't...”
“But why suffer?” The demon asked. For a moment Sofia might've sworn she heard notes of concern in it's voice. But she knew such things were impossible from a monster. “Why suffer on behalf of one who suffers nothing for you? Who would just as easily send you to me for the crime of merely existing as you are... for even considering the thoughts He put into your mind?”
Closing her eyes once more and taking a ragged little breath Sofia felt a tiny sliver of clarity amongst the storm raging through her body. The barest hint of what she should've been and what every other woman in the abbey seemed to be rising to the surface of her tormented thoughts. And in that lone instance she spoke with what almost felt like another's voice, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life!”
And for just a moment the weight of the demon's presence seemed to shrink. The shadow it cast upon the abbey wall grew hazy and the fires burning so brightly beyond the horizon dimmed. Even the beast itself seemed to withdraw from her as if well and truly rebuked by her words. By the Gospel of the Lord God finally spoken with a glimmer of faith.
Then the demon laughed, “I almost believed you...” It whispered, sounding strangely impressed by her efforts even as it giggled with a dismissive, gloating delight, “Perhaps if you'd only practiced your prayers a bit more I might've been struck down where I stand... or whatever other drivel they've told you about us... but I think instead... you've earned a taste of what's been so long denied to you. What I promise you and what your Almighty could never fulfill...”
Shutting her eyes once more and bracing for some unspeakable torment Sofia tried to offer up a final prayer to God. To apologize for her sinful ways and beg forgiveness before she was dragged down into Hell where she truly belonged. But no thoughts lingered in her mind long enough and the monster looming over her with such unrestrained malice didn't allow Sofia a chance to save her soul. Though neither did it steal her away as she might've expected. What it did instead was infinitely more unexpected and infinitely more absurd. So much so she could scarcely believe it even when she finally understood what was happening.
Before she did Sofia felt something soft and heavy press down against the top of her head. Even the slightest touch was enough to send terror lancing through her body and a frightened little squeak tumbling from her lips. She tried to flinch away from the softness bearing down upon her but no part of her body moved the way she wanted. No part of her seemed to work at all. Save of course her trembling hands clutching at the earth beneath her as she continued to brace for some terrible blow or all consuming assault. For a swell of flames or vicious swipe of claws. For anything beyond the almost unbearably soft and strangely... pleasurable weight resting upon her head. Near enveloping her head even as it pushed down against her with what felt like an insurmountable force. Though somehow her body didn't buckle or react at all to the burden. Not in any way it should've in the face of such an impossible force. Not until it shifted and a flicker of movement entered the uppermost reaches of her vision.
Glancing up without thinking Sofia's eyes widened and her mouth slowly fell open as an expression of pure disbelief spread across her face, “Oh my God...”
“Rest assured Sofia, He has no part to play in this...” The demon laughed.
Just about incapable of hearing a word the demon spoke Sofia nonetheless basked in the silky allure of her voice and the unabashed glee in every syllable. Almost as much as she basked in the soft, breathtaking curves of the breasts resting atop her and nearly covering her eyes. More bountiful than any she'd ever seen and more tempting than any words could ever hope to be the demon's body ravished Sofia in an instant. After a lifetime spent fighting every last unnatural instinct as she clung to what was truly natural she had no hopes of resisting now. Indeed the thought hardly seemed to cross her mind as she meekly swallowed past the lump in her throat.
Not since she'd glimpsed the barest flash of Juliana's naked body almost a decade ago had Sofia laud eyes on another woman's form. And even knowing she wasn't truly staring at a woman, instead a demonic manifestation sin and Hell itself, didn't pierce the haze clouding her thoughts. Nor overcome the desire to reach up and touch those beautiful contours. Her fingers ached to touch them and the longer she remained frozen the greater her need seemed to grow.
As did the al too familiar heat slowly spreading through pit of her stomach. And spreading throughout her belly and down even further until it was consuming her legs and threatening to engulf all the rest of her body in it's wicked frenzy. Only the shock of what she was seeing and the abject disbelief accompanying it kept her hands rooted to the earth and her body unable to react. Save at least her eyes as they roamed every last centimeter of the breasts resting atop her. Spilling down over her face as if they would entirely smother her at any moment. A thought she clung to with such overwhelming desperation Sofia struggled to think of anything else. Or indeed to think at all, her mind awash in a flurry of desires and instincts long buried yet easily brought back to the surface. Instincts she'd struggled for years to hide away in the far flung corners of her mind and suppress with all her might as she served the Lord.
But now? As she breathed in the heady smell of sweat and something far sweeter, something she hadn't known before? There was no holding back and no keeping her sinful needs where they belonged. Only a single lingering question: how long would she remain frozen by surprise and wracked with indecision before she gave in? Before the inevitable?
“Nothing that comes so natural could ever be so wrong...” The demon whispered, her voice most soft and inviting than ever before as Sofia nearly felt her breath against her hear, “Nothing that comes so natural should ever be denied so long... surely you've suffered long enough? Surely your great and loving God would allow you a moment's comfort? A night to truly be yourself... just a single time before he calls you back to his side?”
“It can't be so wrong...” Sofia panted. Licking her lips and swallowing past the lump in her throat she tried to speak again only for a whimper to tumble from her lips instead. Her hands shook more violently than ever as she bit her lower lip and it was only only when she finally lifted them from the ground did she find her voice, “I was m-made in God's image..”
“You were...” The demon whispered, “And God wouldn't torment you so... God loves all His children... he wants them all to know a life of joy and... satisfaction...”
Uttering the last word in a throaty moan the demon visibly trembled and Sofia was left watching her breasts heave and bounce from even that tiny movement. Their movements were nothing short of hypnotic and before they'd even stopped she was lifting her hands from the earth. Flecks of dirt and shredded blades of grass tumbled from her trembling fingers as they rose ever higher into the air while her heart pounded so furiously it seemed ready to burst out of her chest. Yet nothing in the world could've stopped her from reaching out to touch those beautiful curves. Nothing save the very demon offering up such impossible temptation.
Withdrawing with a cruel laugh she disappeared from Sofia's sight too fat for her to react. And in the time it took Sofia to even appreciate the demon's absence the once stifling yet sweetly intoxicating weight of her presence had vanished too. As had the shadow she'd cast upon the abbey wall. Only the light of the fire remained and for just a moment Sofia was near convinced she'd imagined it all. Or simply failed some great, unknown test from God himself.
Though if the latter was even remotely a concern it for her it faded from Sofia's mind so quickly she didn't have time to entertain it. She was much too busy scrambling to her knees and turning towards the wall she'd once pressed herself so tightly against. Even clutching the cold, weathered stone with both hands as she peered over it towards the horizon as if that might explain the demon's abrupt and untimely departure. But she saw only the same dancing orange glow lighting up the horizon without the barest hint of a figure silhouetted against it. Or indeed any sign of the demon she'd nearly given her soul to without any of the hesitation she should've known. And she felt nothing but disappointment in the wake of it all...
“I shouldn't be disappointed!” She told herself, trying to sound as much like Mother Gianna as possible with every word. But she lacked the earnest, fiery passion Mother Gianna had always possessed during chastisement. And there was little hope of hiding from the truth even as she said, “I should be relieved for my soul! Relieved for the souls of my sisters no doubt caught in similar webs of lies and temptation!”
Dejectedly turning away from the horizon she looked to the abbey wall as if something might suddenly appear. When nothing did she slumped back down against the wall at her back and heaved a little sigh, one lacking in any of the relief or contentment others would feel. Though just as she was finding the strength to push herself upright and depart entirely a flicker of movement caught her eye. Midway through turning towards the chapel, as thoughts of her fellow Sisters returned to her mind, Sofia's gaze snapped back to the wholly nondescript stone across from her. Stone that was suddenly marred by the familiar shadow of the demon that'd so easily abandoned her. Only something was different as the silhouette darkened and grew ever more clear while the rest of the shadows danced as normal.
Instinctively looking up to see the demon looming overhead Sofia was met with naught but empty air and a palpable sense of confusion. Her eyes darted back to the wall and gasped: the shadow hadn't vanished. Instead it was only growing more... growing more. She could think of no other way to describe the every swelling darkness even more it changed yet again.
Bubbling and roiling like a pot of water about to boil over the darkness of her silhouette churned against the stone. Seemed to rise from it as though it weren't merely a projection upon the surface but something emerging from within the weathered edifice. Yet all the while the edges of the demon's figure remained impossibly sharp. So clear and so well defined they seemed more akin to an artist's work than anything natural. Though she hardly had time to dwell on such things before the acrid smell of smoke and sulfur filled the air around her. It clogged every breath and seemed to billow out into the world in some great, unseen cloud. And all mere moments before something finally emerged from the raging sea of darkness within the demon's silhouette. Something thick and oozing that trickled down the stone to pool in the grass, burning everything it touched as it seeped across the earth. Every last blade of green wilted and died before the flood as more and more streams emerged from the stone to soak the contours of the woman's figure but never stray beyond.
Not even as the shadows themselves bubbled all the more, rising from the wall alongside the blood seeping from the stone and almost reaching out to Sofia with some malignant desire. An unspeakable and unknowable evil all but stretching towards her little by little. And she was so stunned by the hauntingly fascinating sight she scarcely noticed anything else about it. Like the way it seemed to mold and mimic the nonexistent figure casting the shadow. Or how the most tautly stretched contours of the ever changing mass seemed to be holding something back. Something within the darkness.
Then without warning a hand pressed against the impossibly thin barrier separating it from the world it sought to enter. Sofia gasped and flinched away, raising an arm before her face as she saw the fingers curl into a fist and press all the harder. A heartbeat later the first was lost amidst the shadows without so much as a hint of it's existence. Not even the barrier it'd strained against seemed to remember it's presence. But of course Sofia did. She could do nothing but stare at the spot it'd appeared and watch in abject horror as she waited for it to return. Or for anything else to take it's place. And she wasn't left waiting for long before whatever lurked within made it's presence known. Though she never could have dreamed of what she would see within that surging, bloody darkness.
The shadowed contours of a grinning face pressed against the barrier so clearly it seemed to finally pierce whatever veil held it back. Then a hand returned. Followed soon after by another. Sofia let out a timid whimper and stared into the demon's eyes, unable to look away as it's smile grew all the wider at the sight of her. Even when the bountiful contours of it's breasts pushed against the barrier soon after and the rest of it's inhumanly voluptuous body did the same. Much as she wanted to look at the impossible beauty emerging from the darkness she was transfixed by the creature's gaze. By the delight and passion filling it's inky black eyes. Nothing had ever looked at her with such... joy. No one had ever given her so wild a stare. Only a single woman from the far flung days of her past could even hope to compare and still she fell short. Alongside the rest of the insanity confronting her it was such a wonderfully strange and impossible to reckon with sight she had no hope of resisting. Nor doing anything more than gasping for breath and watching as the barrier separating her from the demoness continued to thin.
Until it finally broke with a sound like a thundering, beastly roar.
Desperately covering her ears and turning away from the cacophony Sofia buried her face in her knees and whimpered. She whimpered long after the howl faded and she continued to whimper even as she felt the demoness watching her without anything to separate them. With naught by air and a few terrifying short steps keeping them apart. It was only when she heard the demoness laugh that Sofia even considered lifting her head. And even then she still peered through her trembling fingers for a few moments before amazement overwhelmed everything else.
Wearing nothing but a smile and showing no hint of the shame Sofia would've felt being seen in even her nightgown the demoness stood before her proud and wickedly excited. Her amazingly full lips curled into a smile far too wide for any Human to match, revealing rows of razor sharp teeth of a near blinding white. Though every inch of her ashen, crimson skin was dripping with blood, rivulets cascading all across her curves, her inky black hair was untouched. It fell in a wild cascade about her face and down her shoulders with a wild freedom matched by the sheer exuberance radiating from every inch of her body. A body so taut and muscular yet gorgeously curvaceous and plump Sofia struggled to entirely understand what she was seeing.
From the swell of her breasts to the wide spread of her hips and almost frighteningly thick breadth of her hips she was unlike anyone Sofia had known. Beyond even the wildest dreams she'd fought so hard and failed so many times to stifle. And in the depths of her heart she knew the demoness was there for her and her alone.
Flicking to and fro behind her as she took a single step forward the demoness' tail would've betrayed her excitement even without the smile etched into her face. And it constantly demanded Sofia's attention almost as much as the deathly sharp horns emerging from her hair to rise well above her subtly cocked head. Alongside the unnatural color of her skin everything that made her an unmistakable demon drew Sofia's attention and held it. Held so fast and so completely she struggled to notice all the other details she would've adored. Like the confident saunter of her stride or the soft sway of her hips with every step. To say nothing of the soft, dark red nipples at the center of her breasts or the thicket of curly black hairs shrouding her sex. And somehow drawing her attention to it's plump contours all the same.
“Oh my God...” Sofia finally whimpered, unable to hold herself back as she spoke and entirely too amazed to consider what she was saying. Or who she said it in the presence of. “Oh my God... y-you're so... you're so...”
“Beautiful?” The demoness asked. Her voice was a sultry growl all at once feral and beastly yet refined and elegant. “Terrifying? Awe inspiring?” She laughed at her won comments and bit her lower lip, a long forked tongue emerging from between her teeth to lick at the blood trickling down so much of her skin, “Rest assured my little toy, there's nothing I haven't heard before... and nothing I wouldn't love to hear again!”
“You're perfect...” Sofia whispered.
Moaning in contentment the demoness seemed to bask in those two simple words like they were the greatest treats she'd ever known. Pausing barely a step away from Sofia she let her hands drift down all the curves and contours of her body as her eyes fluttered shut and her moan turned into a breathy gasp as she inhaled. When her eyes opened again and she looked to Sofia the delight within them was so much greater than before. So great it seemed to radiate from her gaze and cloud the air around them in a great swell of unabashed emotion.
“Careful little bride... flattery will earn you pleasures you never dreamed possible!”
Too enthralled to feel even a shred of the fear she should've known Sofia could only stare up at the beautiful creature looming over her. Had she been standing her legs would've surely buckled the moment the demoness was near enough to touch her. Or the moment the winds shifted, stealing away all the horrid smells and replacing them with a sweetness more intoxicating than any other. So intoxicating she couldn't help breathing it in without shame or hesitation.
Much to the delight of the demon looming over her. Grinning with that same monstrously inhuman smile it licked it's lips clean of the blood coating them and took that final step forward. Then another and another after that. Instead of simply stopping she seemed to step over Sofia and all but pin her against the stone. To leave her flinching back and pressing against the wall on pure instinct as her nervous gaze darted away from the demoness' face. And towards the curly tuft of hair not quite concealing the beauty between her thighs. As that very beauty was nearly pressed against her face in a sudden burst of movement.
“W-W-Wait!” Sofia whimpered, unable to turn her head, or perhaps unwilling, even as she withdrew into herself like never before, “I-I don't even know your name!”
Of all the things she could've said and all the responses she might've given that was perhaps the most foolish. Sofia certainly felt like an absolute dullard as the words left her lips and her cheeks burned in a swell of abject shame. Though somehow the demoness didn't seem to share in those feelings. There wasn't an ounce of derision in her laughter nor spread across her face as she stared down at Sofia for a moment or two. Nor any roughness as she almost loving reached out to lay a hand upon the fabric covering her head. She simply beamed with an overwhelming delight as her fingers curled into a fist against Sofia's habit, gripping a thick handful of her hair even through her clothes, while she spoke again in a giddy tone.
“You may call me Persis.”
Those five simple words rang out like a peal of thunder yet Sofia was denied a chance to even whimper at them. Persis stole it away as she pressed her sex against Sofia's lips, pulling her head forward with just enough force to make clear who was truly in charge. And entirely command her little toy with a single, perfect motion.
Faster than she could possibly react Sofia was tasting another woman's arousal. Though she knew in her heart it was no true woman but a fallen angle sent from Hell it scarcely seemed to matter. Perhaps it even left her all the more overwhelmed as her lips immediately parted against the soft, glistening contours of Persis' womanhood. After a lifetime dreaming of how such a bounty must've tasted she couldn't possibly hold herself back. Even if the rest of the convent were to suddenly emerge from the abbey and condemn her sinful ways Sofia wouldn't have stopped. She couldn't even so much as hold her eyes open as the sweetness washed over her. Spread across her tongue and down the back of her throat until it was radiating throughout her body in an all consuming flood. And after nothing more than their very first kiss!
Both of them moaned at the same moment but while Sofia's remained muffled by the sex pressing so gently yet insistently against her lips Persis had no such inhibition. She could fill the night air with the sounds of her pleasure and positively drown her plaything in every throaty cry. As surely as she could, and very much did, drown Sofia in the warmth cascading from her sex. Beading across the lips of her oh so sweet pussy and falling like early morning dew onto Sofia's lips in a constant trickle. Even before her tongue nervously emerged from her mouth to travel further than ever, gliding across the rest of Persis' contours and tasting even more of her. So much of her Sofia's moan nearly matched her lover's as they once more cried out in near perfect unison. At least until she was overwhelmed by a fresh cascade of warmth trickling into her mouth and rolling down her cheeks as she utterly failed to keep pace with so great a flood. To say nothing of moving her tongue in wild little bursts of movement as an ever growing swell of pure need consumed her.
“How long could one mortal wait?” Persis cooed, “To deny yourself so long truly must have been... unbearable!”
Struggling to hear what her companion said yet somehow absolutely basking in every word Sofia could only respond with a whimper. With a feverish little flick of her tongue across as much of Persis' womanhood as she could possibly reach. All the while her lips kissed everywhere else with a truly mindless abandon. Instinct and passion guided her more than anything else and she had little room for words or doubts or anything beyond seeking more. Seeking everything she possibly could and endlessly hearing Persis cry out in delight. In abject approval.
Even finding the strength to lift her tightly clenched fists from her habit and uncurl her trembling fingers seemed impossible. Though only to the jumbled mess of desires and needs and long dormant wants that was her mind. Her body didn't have any trouble at all and her hands alighted upon Persis almost instantly, brushing against her legs with a timid yet growing desire.
And the moment she touched those rippling muscles a fiendish shudder absolutely tore through her body. Just the simple act of feeling another woman's body beneath her trembling fingers, the heat radiating from her skin like a roaring fire, proved enough to overwhelm her all on it's own. But alongside the sudden surge of warmth to cascade onto her tongue as Persis moaned and trembled every bit as hard? It was nothing short of a miracle Sofia didn't faint at the sheer exhilaration of such an... an overwhelming cascade of sensations! Her lover's arousal was already trickling down her chin as it seeped from the corners of her mouth and she could feel it seeping into her habit with every moment she remained at her Persis' mercy. But the taste of it was so intoxicating and the heady sweetness of that warmth filling her every shaky breath was too great a pleasure to even think about denying. Any concerns she might've had about further sullying the holy garments wrapped about her body drifted further and further from her mind.
Or rather what remained of her mind. As her tongue glided across everything she could reached, tasting everywhere she could manage and growing bolder by the stroke, there was less and less time for thought. For anything beyond action and the ever growing flames of lust coaxing her on. Her fingers continued to drift all along Persis' legs in little bursts of movement almost as giddy as the darting of her tongue. But when the latter forever craved more and forever sought to explore as much as humanly possible her hands were far too uncoordinated to do much of anything. At least anything beyond roaming the breadth of her companion's thighs and perhaps even drifting down a little bit further as she sank ever deeper into the sweetness of the sex pressed so tight against her lips.
Unlike her own nervous, uncoordinated fingers Persis' grasp never wavered. And it never lessened nor increased either. It simply remained atop her head in a steady, unbroken constant Sofia quickly came to rely upon. Especially as her tongue shyly swirled about the entrance to her mistress' sex, almost trying to push inside before withdrawing to taste the rest of her plump folds once again. When her own actions were so chaotic and uncertain, even to herself, feeling those strong yet gentle fingers holding her head and gripping her hair just about saved Sofia's life.
Or if nothing else she certainly thought as much as her tongue withdrew back into her mouth and her lips kissed all along Persis' womanhood. Rising higher and higher without truly knowing why much less what she was doing she didn't stop and never thought to. Not until she found the swollen little bud at the crest of her sex and pressed her lips against it without a second thought.
“Ohhhhhhhhhh yes!” Persis moaned, her free hand suddenly jumping to Sofia's head in a burst of encouragement Sofia didn't even realize she wanted as bade as she did, “I wondered how long it might take you to find that place! The last mortal to enjoy my company never seemed to find it! Thought I doubt he was all that concerned with looking!”
Jealousy flashed through Sofia's mind at the thought of Persis with someone else. Only for the very next thought to send a ripple of pleasure crashing through her instead. Without even trying she imagined her lover with a man. Imagined that man doing what men did, what she'd seen the men and women of her village doing when they thought nobody was around to catch them. And somehow in spite of her jealous she was strangely thrilled by the image of Persis in much the same positions!
So thrilled in fact she didn't and couldn't think about what she was doing even as she kissed that same little pearl once more. Lingered against it a few moments longer and idly let her tongue glide across it's increasingly swollen contours while Persis moaned and shuddered against her. Though she made no further references to past lovers nor afforded any further encouragement simply hearing her breathless cries was enough. More than enough even. Sofia was all but drowning in them as her companion's arousal drenched her lips and trickled down her face in an ever flowing cascade. Even though she paid the rest of her sex almost no attention at all save the mindlessly darting of her tongue across her wonderfully plump, wonderfully trembling lips. But such strokes were little more than wild accidents and thoughtless collateral as she tried to focus more and more on the bud that'd made Persis cry out so throatily in the first place. Had she been even a shade more in control Sofia almost certainly would have kept her ministrations entirely to that sweet, tender pearl.
Instead without even trying she showered herself in even more sweetness with every accidental movement. Far more than she could ever hope to manage and so much more than she ever dreamed possible even after thinking she'd started to understand how her lover's body reacted. Merely trying to understand the deluge washing over her seemed impossible, much less keeping the flow from drenching more and more of her habit. Or understanding the woman now clinging to her so tightly it was almost overwhelming. And all before Persis started moving against her. Began to buck and roll her hips in smooth yet ferocious movements far more powerful than Sofia might've guessed. But not quite so powerful that she had no hope of persisting.
Rather it was more like she was being used and controlled as much as guided and coaxed. Like her nervously trembling lips and inexperienced tongue were just another plaything for the demoness standing over her. Like the whole of her being was merely another plaything for Persis' satisfaction. A thought all at once strangely pleasing and strangely exhilarating as soon as it formed in Sofia's mind and refused to depart. She never imagined herself in such a situation during all her fantasies or countless, fitful dreams but that only made it that much more intoxicating.
Simply wrapping her arms around Persis' legs and holding on for dear life was far easier than trying to discern what her companion would enjoy the most. Merely wrapping her lips around that swollen bud and suckling away was far easier and far more rewarding than anything she could've tried. It was almost bizarre how effective it seemed as Persis' moans rang out in the night and her movements grew ever more frantic. Though of course Sofia didn't have any complaints at all about the outcome, no matter how little she understood of what she was doing.
How could she possibly complain when she was awash in her lover's arousal and held so tightly by her strong, commanding fingers there was no room for anything else? It may not have been exactly what she'd fantasized about in her most quiet moments but simply letting her eyes drift shut as her lips went to work and her tongue followed suit was a dream come true all it's own. All with the beautiful chorus of moans and whimpers and breathless exultation to enjoy while she lapped at her companion's soft little pearl for what felt like hours on end. Days even. Had she opened her eyes to see the sun shining overhead or see it glow diminishing Sofia wouldn't have been at all surprised. Though she most certainly would've reveled in the sheer depravity of such a thing. But to even learn that truth would've reacquired far more effort than she was capable of. Especially as Persis' movements grew ever more passionate.
All but growling like some feral beast as she bucked against Sofia's lips with all the ferocity of a wild animal in the throes of a mating passion. Even the stallions her family had once raised would've struggled to match the frantic energy of her every rolling thrust. To say nothing of how she held and guided Sofia's head through it all. Pulling her closer and pulling her deeper against her sex without ever truly causing any harm. Only momentary flashes of pain that seemed to amplify the pleasure even more in ways Sofia couldn't possibly understand. Though she happily reveled in every twinge of pulled hair or nails scraping at her skin through her habit.
Even if all that reveling 'quickly' paled in comparison to what she was treated to before long. Though it felt like an eternity of lapping at Persis' sex and kissing her pearl in truth it only took a few minutes for her demonic mistress to unleash a fiendishly throaty cry. To throw her head back and roar at the heavens, a gout of flame erupting from her lips in a terrifying plume of light and power.
Sofia's eyes fluttered open the moment she heard the first notes of Persis' cry and they only widened all the more as she watched the fire crackle and roar through the chilly night air. Even so far below her lover she could feel the heat of it singing the branches far overhead and if she'd had control over herself and her actions she would've flinched away from the sudden swell of heat. But with Persis's hands still wrapped so tightly around her head and digging so tightly into her skin as if her clothes weren't even present she couldn't possibly retreat. Nor do much of anything save continue her ministrations and let out a nervous little moan as her companion finally looked down at her again. As their eyes locked for a moment and she saw the ecstasy filling that inky black stare while the rest of her body descended into the most feverish tremors yet.
Holding that gaze with a truly depraved grin lighting up her face Persis never so much as blinked even as her mouth hung open in a long, breathless scream. Even as her muscles tightened and convulsed in fits of manic delight while her back arched and one of her hands leapt to the stone. She gripped the wall so hard it actually started to crack beneath her fingers while she braced herself against it and yet somehow that remained the least of Sofia's concerns. Though to call any of the pleasure she basked in a concern was downright laughable. Despite the absolute flood of warmth gushing from Persis' womanhood. It didn't matter that she was all but drowning in the torrent of arousal, that she'd opened her mouth in a foolish bid to taste as much of her lover as she could. Nor did it matter that her habit was absolutely soaked in the blink of an eye in yet another affront to the very God she had pledged herself to for the remainder of her life. Between the pleasure radiating from her companion's body and the pleasure rippling through her own Sofia was entirely lost in the moment. Consumed by the unbridled ecstasy of every single second spent away in that perfect climax. She truly never wanted it to end.
And for a time it almost seemed like her with might truly come true. Persis continued to buck and shudder and convulse against her in desperate fits for so, so much longer than any Human could have managed. Far longer than any of the men and women Sofia had stumbled across or 'accidentally' watched without their knowing. Unlike any of the women she'd focused on in those days Persis was all at once completely out of control and entirely in control. Her movements were wild and frantic and entirely animalistic yet the smile lighting up her fearsome countenance and the glimmer in her terrifying eyes spoke the truth. Spoke of a beast more than capable of doing whatever she liked no matter how feverishly she groaned or how wildly her hips trembled. Much less how completely she soaked the woman beneath her.
By the time her frantic movements and wild panting finally began to settle Sofia was so overwhelmed and deliriously lost in what'd happened she didn't even notice. Her hands had fallen away from her lover's body and her eyes, though still locked with Persis' unflinching stare, didn't see anything as they gazed upwards. Though in spite of it all she still continued to suckle and lick at the swollen bud that had caused her delirium. Entirely on instinct and without any guiding thought nor coherence. Her mind was entirely blank after such an impossibly exciting experience and the rest of her body didn't seem far behind. Particularly when her companion finally withdrew and all the support of her presence was momentarily denied to Sofia.
“Mmmmm what a wonderful beginning...” Persis moaned, licking her pointed teeth and staring down at the mess that was Sofia, “But you haven't truly seen the light yet... I can see it in your eyes... feel it in your soul...”
Swallowing a mouthful of Persis' arousal and licking her lips in an unconscious imitation of her mistress Sofia didn't even have the strength to lift her head. Much less respond to the words already sending excited shivers crashing through her body. She barely found the wherewithal to keep both eyes open and fixed upon the demoness standing over her with a giddy smile.
Although she could let out a soft whimper when Persis suddenly knelt down in front of her, resting her arms on her knees and grinning even wider. Like an animal about to feast on it's prey. The faintest hints of uncertainty and fear spread through her body as Sofia basked in that look yet before she could do much of anything about those worries her companion reached out. Wrapped her strong, soft hands around Sofia's wrists and pulled her upright with laughable ease. As though she were nothing but a doll in her lover's strong grasp.
A doll that could do nothing save rise and stumble into her mistress' waiting arms without much more than a gasp. Or as much of one as she could let out before her face was entirely smothered by the bountiful swell of Persis' breasts. Faster than she could react Sofia was slumped against the demoness and completely lost within the soft, albeit bloody, contours of her impossibly large curves. She might've lacked the strength to keep her feet underneath her without her lover's help but she somehow found the strength to nuzzle against those swells with a giddy little smile. To bury her face even deeper between them and never so much as question what else her companion had in mind. As far as Sofia was concerned she could've remained exactly where she was for the remainder of her days!
“There'll be plenty of time for that soon enough little bride,” Persis laughed, cradling Sofia against her and even stroking the back of her head with what could only be described as affection, “First... first I want to taste you!”
Six simple words had never sounded sweeter in Sofia's ears and in the time it took her to truly appreciate what Persis intended it was already coming to pass. Her feet left the ground entirely while the demoness holding her spun about and Sofia could only cling all the more desperately to her lover as she was swept away. An instant later her back was pressed against the wall of the abbey so tightly it stole away her breath as her companion bore down upon her. But only for an instant.
An instant later her feet returned to the ground, though the weightlessness spreading through her belly lingered, while Persis fixed her with a lascivious grin. The most thrilling and predatory smile Sofia could possibly imagine. And made all the more beautiful when she wordlessly sank to her knees. There was no time to think or breathe or even considering what she was doing. One second she was staring up at the terrifying demoness who's arousal still coated her face. The next she was staring down at the very same creature in what might've been a position of power under any other circumstances. But instead she felt every bit as nervous and vulnerable as she had when Persis loomed above her. Feelings almost laughably exemplified when Persis' laid her hands on Sofia's hips with a gentle touch only to quite abruptly turn her about and flatten her against the stone.
Flattening one hand against her back just below her shoulder blades and twisting the messy fabric of her habit around the other Persis gleefully remarked, “I trust you won't have much need of this!”
The words had barely left her lips before the carefully stitched, dutifully maintained fabric of her sacred oath to God was ripped away. As easily as Sofia might've ripped a loaf of fresh bread in twain Persis tore away much of her habit. Near everything below her waist. Including her undergarments and anything that might stand in the way of her ambitions. Only a few tattered strips were left to fall down the front of her trembling body in the barest hint of modesty. Or as much modesty as could be had with entire rump laid bare and her long, plump legs so entirely exposed she could all but feel the demoness admiring her. As surely as she felt the goosebumps erupting across her skin and rivulets of her own shameful arousal cascading down her inner thighs. To say nothing of the cool night air washing over her body as though she'd plunged into a frigid lake while the upper half remained swathed in the remnants of her holy vestments. Of course she didn't think much about what remained of her habit nor indeed any part of the shredded clothes scattered across the earth. Sofia was much too busy looking back at the woman responsible in a state of breathless anticipation.
She didn't have the faintest idea what Persis intended and that terrified her. Yet as those soft fingers glided across her skin, trailing up the outer stretches of her legs at an unbearably slow pace, she struggled to feel anything but excitement. Fear of the unknown quickly turned into a giddy excitement and the longer Persis teased her the more feverishly her body ached.
In the time it took those strong, clawed hands to reach her hips Sofia was absolutely awash in the heat of her lover's breath. In the weight of her gaze upon her flesh and the mere thrill of her presence as Persis hovered so impossibly close. Close enough to nearly tease her skin with every idle pass of her tongue across her sharp teeth and beautifully full lips. But as she teasingly dragged the mere tips of her claws across Sofia's skin the demoness showed no signs of pressing further. Of doing anything more than eliciting countless shudders and a constant stream of breathless whimpers. Even while Sofia timidly pushed herself away from the wall of the abbey to silently offer herself fully to the monster at her back. Even while she silently begged for more with every nerve wracking second.
Over and over again she traced little circles and oblong patterns across Sofia's skin, buffering her with breathless laughter and staring up at her with knowing smirks. Whenever she tried to push back against her companion and offer herself in yet more obvious ways Persis merely retreated. Never enough to pull away entirely but always enough to perfectly match how far Sofia had moved as if it were an unspoken game. And not the most maddening torment Sofia had ever known. Before even the torment of denying herself and her wants for so many years. An entire lifetime before Persis arrived.
Now she was suffering an even worse agony as the promise of something beyond her ken was withheld for the most agonizing stretch of time. Although it couldn't have lasted more than a minute or two at the very longest when ever second felt like years slipping through her fingers even that short stretch was unbearable. So unbearable she couldn't help but speak out before too long. In spite of how timid and frail her voice may have been.
“Please...” She whimpered, shuddering so hard at the heat of Persis' breath her knees slammed together with an audible smack. Arching her back all the more Sofia almost clawed at the stone as she whimpered again, “Please...”
“Say it...” Persis commanded. “Say the words... say them and I won't hesitate to grant your every wildest desire... say them and give yourself to me!”
Though she knew not what she was meant to say, not exactly, Sofia didn't have time to fret about such trivial things. Not when Persis' hands fell away from her body and she was left entirely bereft of her touch once more. Bereft of all but the softness of her breath and the heat of her presence, “Please... r-r-ravish me! Ravish me! Ravish meeeeeeee!”
A profound sense of shame washed over her as soon as she started to speak again yet by the time she finished nearly all of it had melted away. There was simply no place for it amidst the swell of pleasure and exhilaration as Persis' touch returned to her body. As those soft fingers glided against her skin once more, trailing over her thighs and up to her waist before suddenly shifting across the curves of her rump without any warning. In a flash she was cupping Sofia's nervously trembling cheeks, squeezing and groping and fondling with an abandon so feverish it was impossible to fully appreciate. One moment she was flinching away, the next pushing against those tenderly skillful hands, and the next turning her head to look anywhere but the demoness so gleefully tormenting her. All the while Persis continued her efforts with an ever growing sense of anticipation. An ever rising tide of excitement that seemed to fill the very air.
All culminating in perhaps the last thing a poor, naive soul like Sofia could've expected. Once more without warning or explanation Persis acted. But rather than simply enjoying the plump, round contours of Sofia's rump she did something a thousand times more shocking. She spread her goosebump riddled cheeks to lay bare everything they'd once hidden. To see the most intimate parts of her body and let her feel the warmth of her breath on places no living being had ever glimpsed. At least not in such a thrilling yet terrifying circumstance! And of course while Sofia was still reeling from that first bout of insanity another arrived to overwhelm her all the more. The demoness behind her didn't waste even a moment lunging forward like a feral beast nor did she hesitate to plunge her long, forked tongue deep inside Sofia's entrance. Or rather into a place quickly turned to an entrance. One she'd never imagined being enjoyed in such a way and one she'd long thought of as the most sinful, perverted part of a human body. Thanks entirely to the teachings Mother Gianna and the others.
Now a demoness tongue was writhing about in the depths of her body, stretching open her tight little ring as her lips planted a soft kiss against her entrance. Now she was absolutely drowning in the maddening pleasure of another tasting her. It didn't matter that she'd never dreamed of such a thing and could hardly even tell if she truly wanted it in the first place. The shock and the welling tide of ecstasy were so great everything else simply fell by the wayside.
Helped along by how feverishly Persis' tongue moved. How it wound deeper and deeper far beyond what a Human tongue could manage as it teased her inner most walls. Even pressing down against the thin barrier separating her sex from that even more depraved place. All with an abject frenzy so pronounced and so all encompassing she couldn't begin to understand how her body felt. How her mind reacted to the onslaught of pleasures assailing it. An onslaught of wholly new, entirely incomparable pleasures paired with so, so many more. Like the messy sounds of Persis' ministrations of the soft pain of her claws digging into her skin.
Yet again even her wildest fantasies absolutely failed to match the reality. To so much as hold a candle to what she was feeling with every devastating moment. And all before Persis wickedly pushed just a little bit deeper. Just deep enough to truly press at her quivering entrance with an unbearable, toe curling force. She stretched Sofia's tautly trembling ring open wider and wider with every fiendish stroke of her tongue, so wide it all but felt as if she was being split into half by her tongue alone. But no matter how much those feelings assaulted her mind, body, and soul Sofia remained lost in the cascade of pleasure they caused. So completely lost to her ecstasy and an ever rising tide of something somehow even greater she couldn't fathom what might be next. Nor do much of anything except shudder against her lover.
Pinning her against the wall with the sheer force of her efforts Persis didn't seem to hold anything back as the ever messy sounds of her tongue lashing filled the air. At times even drowning out Sofia's increasingly strained moans as she struggled to take even a single full breath. The rest of the time their voices were a discordant harmony of lust and excitement. A cacophony of lewdness no place of God should ever know and yet one they filled with their perversity for minutes upon minutes. Just as the two soiled that holy ground with their arousal, ecstasy trickling from Sofia's untouched sex while Persis continued to tease her other entrance. To fixate on it entirely and without so much as a moment's respite amidst the crashing flurry. She seemed keenly aware of how absolutely devastated Sofia already was and how much further devastation she might bring about if she continued. As if she could feel the ever rising tides of pure madness welling up within her like a great, crashing wave about to crest.
Endlessly torn between the near overwhelming bliss tearing through her very being and the faintest hints of terror at so great and unknowable a sensation Sofia was truly lost. Entirely at the mercy of her mistress and wholly incapable of turning away. Even inexperienced as she was she knew there was more to enjoy than what she'd already felt at Persis' hands. So much to feel and revel in. If her first true taste of carnal satisfaction could feel so good, what else might she learn at the hands of the demoness showing her the way?
It was the only thought left within her pleasure ruined mind and indeed the only thing she seemed able to retain at all as Persis' tongue swirled even faster, Pumped even deeper before withdrawing almost inside her mouth only to lunge back again in ways that shouldn't have been possible. Nothing else could remain for long in the face of such all encompassing bliss.
Save of course a final, sacrilegious cry as the wave building up inside her finally crashed down in a truly devastating flood, “Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood!”
Howling until her throat was raw and her lungs were empty Sofia collapsed against the cool stone in a fit of convulsive bliss. Her body twitched and spasmed more uncontrollably than ever before and she was kept upright by nothing save the woman, the demon, pressing so deep into her body it was indescribable. Arousal trickled down her legs in torrents all their own, scarcely matching the deluge Persis had given her yet far outpacing anything Sofia had knew before. Even if she utterly lacked there wherewithal to recall such things. Or indeed function at all as anything more than an ecstasy addled mess wracked with pleasure and entirely consumed by her carnal instincts. Everything began and ended with those incomparable swells of passion.
At some point during the frenzy her eyes disappeared into the back of her head and her hips started moving of their own accord. Moved in ways she'd never known before as she bucked them against her lover in much the same way Persis had shown her before. Of course there was no conscious choice behind her actions. No intentional thought nor deliberate effort. Only an all consuming and absolutely fiendish need for more. For as much as she could get for as long as she might enjoy it. A need her mistress more than provided through her ecstasy. Not once during surging storm of bliss tearing through Sofia's body did Persis relent. With all the same ferocity and frenzy that'd brought Sofia to the brink of utter madness the woman responsible continued and she continued for what must've been hours upon hours. Time had lost all meaning long ago but there was no mistaking it even while trapped in the throes of passion. She was completely and utterly consumed by her bliss but there was no chance she wasn't correct about the unbroken stretch of pure ecstasy ravishing her.
Much of the blood once coating Persis' chest had been washed away by Sofia's warmth by the time the demoness finally withdrew. Indeed just as she'd soaked Sofia in arousal Sofia had positively drenched her too. Albeit it less than she'd given but the heady smell of her arousal still clung to the air so completely it filled her every breath. And left her all the more thrilled as she stared at the quivering little ring she'd so viciously teased for so long. Watching it struggle to close after her assault was a treat all it's own but looking up to see the woman she'd corrupted still wearing an expression of pure bliss truly thrilled Persis to her very core.
Rising to her feet, and keeping her plaything pinned against the wall as she did, Persis pressed herself against Sofia's back. She wrapped an arm about her newest convert's waist and idly trailed her hand through the untamed thicket of hair surrounding her sex. The other hand slid up along her chest to find her throat and softly squeeze it. Softly guide Sofia to look back and meet Persis' gaze once more as they locked eyes.
“You're mine...” She whispered, her lips brushing against Sofia's and her tongue teasingly threatening to slip into her mouth, “Forever.”
“F-Forever?” Sofia panted. Whether agreeing or simply mimicking what she heart Persis couldn't say but it didn't matter. Their lips met all the same in a kiss to seal their union and when they parted her pet moaned again, “Forever...”
“I've found no sign of her in the chapel Mother Superior!” Sister Abigail reported, returning to Mother Gianna's side with a breathy little gasp as she clutched her side, “Should I search the forest surrounding the abbey?”
“No.” Mother Gianna's voice was as stern and commanding as ever but there were hints of concern etched into her wizened face, “We'll wait until Sister Vict—”
“Mother Superior!” Charging into the hall of the abbey with such speed she could barely keep her feet underneath her as she ran Sister Victoria was gasping for breath and frantically waving about what looked like bolt of tattered cloth as she said, “Mother Superior! Mother Superior! I found something outside! I found something round the back of the abbey!”
“Bring it here!” Mother Gianna exclaimed, hobbling towards Sister Victoria with arms outstretched and a fearful look growing upon her face, “You say you found this outside?”
“Yes!” But there were... there were no signs... of Sister Sofia... only this... I think it's... I think it's...”
Taking the strips of tattered and torn fabric from Sister Victoria while the other nuns gathered around to gawk at the discovery as well Mother Gianna finished the thought, “A part of Sister Sofia's habit...”
“Yes...” Sister Victoria panted, “And what looks to be some of her undergarments as well...”
A hush fell over all the nuns present and even when Sister Agatha returned a few seconds later to report no signs of Sister Sofia she too fell silent upon seeing the ruined cloth. None of them had the strength to voice the fears flashing through their minds yet all of them knew exactly what the others were thinking. They could see it in one another's faces whenever they exchanged worried glances in the long, almost deafening silence that'd fallen upon them. All the while Mother Gianna continued to look over the tattered fabric, examining every scrap as her brow furrowed and her frown deepened. Before too long everyone in the convent had returned to the main hall and all of them were huddled around the Mother Superior as they awaited her guidance. And perhaps some sort of explanation.
“It's still damp...” Sister Victoria pointlessly murmured, nervously breaking the silence once it seemed Mother Gianna wouldn't do so, “But not with morning dew or rainfall...”
“You know this for certain?” Sister Teresa asked.
“N-No... not for certain... it simply didn't smell of rain or dew or anything else I've ever known... instead the dampe smelled... sweet...”
“Sweet?” Sister Mary repeated, her tone laden with confusion.
“What does it matter how the cloth smells?” Sister Priscilla asked, “We must learn what happened to Sister Sofia! How her clothes were torn and where she might've fled to!”
“How do you know she fled anywhere?” Sister Miriam wondered.
“Unless you've found her body somewhere within the grounds she must've left!”
“What if she was taken?” Sister Victoria whispered, fearfully looking around as if the culprits could leapt out at her at any moment.
“Of course she was taken!” Sister Juliana exclaimed, “Why else would her habit be in tatters? There's no other explanation! None that makes any manner of sense!”
Another bout of silence fell over them like a shroud but it was swiftly broken by Mother Gianna finally addressing the women around her, “Send word to Father Angelo straight away. We'll learn nothing asking questions of ourselves. We'll need a priests guidance.” She lapsed into a tense moment of quiet before adding, “And we'll all adjourn to the chapel for prayer.”
A chorus of nervously muttered affirmations and agreements punctuated her remarks and the rest of the convent filtered out of the main hall almost immediately. Yet while the other nuns departed for the chapel as quickly as their nerves might allow Mother Gianna lingered behind. Distracted as she was by the tattered cloth in her hands she was far too concerned to join them. Even before Sister Abigail's comments she'd noticed the unusual scent faintly rising from the shredded cloth. But very much unlike Sister Abigail she wasn't unfamiliar with it's thick, cloying aroma. Though she would've far preferred the same ignorance she recognized the scent and knew what it meant for Sister Sofia... Or rather she assumed as much as she finally shuffled out of the main hall and towards the chapel, Sister Sofia's tattered habit still clutched in her now trembling hands.
Little did she know Sister Abigail was fixated on the very same thing. Though without the knowledge to leave her scared and seeking God's guidance she could only dwell upon how that strange but not altogether unpleasant scent had affected her. The way it'd sent a rush of... of excitement cascading through her body the instant she'd breathed it in. How badly she wished to smell it again without really know why she was so attached to such an odd, inexplicable thing. And her quiet obsession was only lent even more fuel when Sister Juliana furtively approached her as everyone hurried across the grounds towards the chapel.
Falling behind the others to match Sister Abigail's more reserved stride she leaned in close with a conspiratorial whisper and asked, “What did Sister Sofia's clothes smell like?”
Sister Abigail let out a little breath and looked up from the ground with a mixture of embarrassment and exhilaration. She couldn't help but let a smile spread across her face in spite of the circumstances and when she spoke her voice was a breathless whimper, “I can't say what they smelled like... only that they were... they were intoxicating!”
“Oh goodness...” Sister Juliana whispered, “T-Tell me more!”
