Hey! I figured I'd start off the month with some updates on life and how I hope to expand this Patreon's content going forward:
So, as many of you know, I am often working between commissions, pay-what-you-want sketches and patron requests on stream. I love doing these for y'all, and I want to be able to release more things month-to-month to hopefully bring in more folks and have a better pool of income for ongoing projects/living stuff.
With that in mind: I'm going to be sending out some of my written works-in-progress, with the intention that I'll be providing accompanying art assets in the future as they garner more interest!
Here are some brief summaries of just a few of the things you can look forward to as I start posting them:
Revolutions of Myrathra: Stained Glass Heart
A novella series following a group of 20-somethings in an urban fantasy setting where thoughts and emotions are volatile things that form creatures and magic. Cassander Douglass, a changeling and an empath warped by magic from a young age, moves to the city after college to try and make sense of the colours he sees in everyday life.
Current progress: First novel completed on second draft, with a goal to make light novel illustrations for key pages. "Bottled Lightning", its sequel, is approximately 40% written in its first draft
Project Pageturners
A tabletop rpg using the Powered by the Apocalypse system, set in a modern world of Readers who can access the Pages behind reality known as the Book. Players create characters through a combination of two playbooks, one describing their role and the other describing their domain of power. The combination of said titles creates a fairytale archetype the character embodies (i.e. The Blue Fairy, the Black Knight, the Red Hood, etc)
Current progress: 80% of Playbooks written, need to write more DM rules and an adventure outline for a playtest copy
Eldritch: the Alien
A monster ttrpg in the style of Black Onyx/White Wolf Chronicles of Darkness/World of Darkness. You play as an Entity, an eldritch being from beyond reality that has become intrigued by humanity and wishes to blend in among them with a Mask that you wear. Your Mask loses Cohesion where you fail to pick up the intricacies of mortal ways of life, or exert your terrifying influence or let slip your incomprehensible form. There are those who would wish to take advantage of you, and those embodiments of cosmic meaningless noise that would predate upon you and leave nothing behind, and so you mask your true nature while strengthening your hold in this beautiful little world.
Progress: Conceptual; research required for various play-types and powers in order to create playtest draft
Midsummer Knights
A rogue-like rpg game idea in the vein of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, where you play a human turned into a fey creature that has been taken in by the Summer Court of Titania. Now, as one of the Midsummer Knights, you venture out into dungeons to fight, parlay and ultimately bridge connections with the other courts as you reconcile with your new circumstances
Progress: Friend made a working personality test, I've made animated walk and combat placeholder sprites and basic floor tiles. Further experience in coding and tile-setting needed
The Cunning Beast's Nurse-Warden
A manga/webcomic starring a magic doctor permanently cursed into a long-lived beast and his newest nurse and warden while he lives under an old hospital treating magically afflicted patients
Progress: Cover art/concept art drawn and first chapter almost fully written
These projects are meant to be larger-scale works than a single monthly pin-up or a monthly comic/sequence, and so they will have their own collections/tags for archiving. If a post receives new content (i.e. an accompanying illustration), then you may receive updates for it.
I am continually floored by the sheer generosity and continued support and patience y'all provide, as this has become a full-time thing for me. As such, I want to expand my horizons and manage my scope to bring new things that you can enjoy as my supporters.
