Hello dear Dragons!
I happened to join in on the Ocean Paradise collab hosted by Webtoon Wave. This illust will be posted on my socials next week but I thought I would share it with all of you on here first! I really love painting these Beachy Ocean Waves. It's so different than the shenanigans the cast is usually up to. I hope you guys like how it turned out. (NOTE: Special thanks to my assistant Luci for doing an amazing coloring job!)
In other news what can I say... I've been SPIRALING ~ hehe
Lately, I've been confronted with a lot of comments regarding how long SubZero has been going (some of it stemming from 1 particular tiktok vid lol) to the point where I spiraled a little bit and even considered trying to rush my ending and gutting the series early because my stuff was just the most awful thing anyone's ever read. But then I remembered... oh wait One Piece has been going on for... 27 years. Don't get me started about the recent news from George R. R. Martin being told he's going to die soon so he'd best hurry up and finish his books...
One thing I want everyone to understand.... I didn't hold off Clove's dragon transformation THIS LONG in order to torture and frustrate everyone (I swear there's a point to all of this) because I love writing frustrating, rage-inducing stories. I truly love this story, its characters and I wrote a very specific ending.
Many of the comments seem to come from very young readers. If I started reading a series in middle school and read through to my college years, that too would feel like 1/2 of my entire lifespan. However, as a lady who hit the big 3 - 2 this year I have to say, those years zoom past in the blink of an eye (I'm SO thankful to be alive and working on this series as my main gig instead of struggling with classes and a corporate job.)
Without feeling too sorry for myself, I actually think I DID, and still DO, sacrifice a lot of things (i.e. sleep, health, spending time with my loved ones) so that I can continue working on this series and reaching the end. I always joke that "finishing SubZero" is the one thought that could pull me from the brink of death, since I am so committed to finishing this story.
But yes, there are in fact 20 episodes left in my SubZero Webtoon SOW Contract. Even if I need a couple more eps for the finale I don't think that changes the general estimate. I am pretty psyched to get to the finale episodes but of course, also a bit sad to think about parting with these characters who have changed so much of my life.
Thank you for letting me share my thoughts and frustrations with you. I admit I've been a bit distant with all I've been seeing online, however I know at the very least, I still make this series with a lot of passion and love for story. I especially make it for those of you who have been waiting to see and read the ending <3
