Hello my dear Dragons! I am writing this to you from the midst of the 2026 Texas Freeze (Current Temp 26°F). I don't currently have water to shower but I have internet and electricity so what more can I ask for <3 Ehhehe!
I truly hope the new year has been kind and welcoming to all of you! I'm doing well despite all of the wild, crazy things happening in our world today. While I do spend a lot of time online, I've been a bit hesitant to post on socials. Most of the time it's fear of mean comments or watching social media engagement fluctuate which sends me spiraling for hours at a time. I always tell myself to "stop caring" but of course I never do, so that's why you probably heard very little from me since SubZero went on Hiatus in December!
Here is my New Year's image! Wouldn't you know, 2026 is the year of the HORSE so of course I found an excuse to draw Zephyr!
I wanted to give everyone some updates of some NEW developments before SZ returns with the final eps:
SZ's return date has been pushed back to March 1st! IT HURTS ME TO SAY IT, but since the adrenaline ran out of my system and I've been sleeping at normal hours for the first time in months it's been rough getting back into the weekly grind of things! (I'm still working every day rest assured)
My lovely assistant had a baby this January (CONGRATS, m'dear I'm SOOO happy for your) and needs some much needed rest and time with her family! The amount of coloring work required for weekly SZ episodes is quite insane and while I could dump all of it on my remaining assistant, that's a special kind of torture I wouldn't wish on anyone. Q_Q My team will be back together in Feb, but until then I hope you can understand why things have been a bit slower than usual.
My final SOW (Statement of Work) with WT is being reworked. After planning/scripting the last of the series, I realized I needed a handful more episodes to get the series to a good stopping point without rushing everything in 6 eps and making the chapters 300+ panels. WT has told me this shouldn't be a problem so I am hoping to hear back from them with an updated contract soon!
Finally, I've been secretly sneaking off to draw SPICY SZ content + doodle some other story ideas that have been brewing in my head for a while! (This includes my Horsie comic + the Test Comic I've been posting). Knowing SZ is ending some senior WT creators have advised that it's a good idea to have another series on the backburner so I made it my mission to post something to canvas later this year hopefully.
That's most of what's been going on with me! In the meantime, please keep an eye out for my new posts as well as the RETURN GIVE*AWAY I'll be posting about very VERY soon!
