Rain slicked the asphalt into a river of swirling, liquid neon. Each passing car sent plumes of crimson and sapphire light scattering across the street, colors bleeding and blurring like a watercolor painting left out in the storm. Tess blinked, her green eyes wide as she tilted her head back, letting fat, cold drops spatter against her cheeks and the pale expanse of chest visible despite her brown overcoat. "Whoa," she breathed, a genuine laugh bubbling up as a particularly large droplet traced a path down her cleavage. "It's like the whole world is gettin' a glitter shower." She spun, her short tartan skirt flaring out, a flash of defiant color against the glossy darkness of the pavement. Magni watched her, a smirk pulling at the corner of his mouth, his hands shoved deep into the pockets of his dark leather jacket. The fur collar, already damp, framed his sharp features and the intense blue of his eyes as he tracked her unrestrained joy. He stepped closer as her spin wobbled, his hand shooting out to steady her arm, his grip firm against her coat's slick sleeve. "Easy there, sparkle-cow," he murmured, his voice a low rumble that cut through the hiss of tires on wet pavement.
Tess and Magni out for a stroll.
