A new week, a new post! With some exciting news this time around!
Venus Derby Releases in February!
That's right! The time is near! I'm currently planning on releasing Venus Derby in the first half of February depending on how things line up before the demo. Everything seems right for the next week or two for the release. I'll give further details on the next week's post about the release.
With the exciting stuff out of the way, let me get to what was done this week, apart from not being able to work much for a day or two due to my computer problems earlier this week, it was full of trying new things and breaking stuff (literally). Without further ado, let's get to it!
Breaking Things (and adding new ones)
I was busy with rewriting the race camera system all over again this week, because, it was... let's say a bit boring to say the least. Just watching PNGs go around the track with no special camera effects or cinematography was very dull, so I decided to take action. I started by ripping out old functions, variables, loops and whatnot related to the old "action camera" system which, yielded about 1300 lines of code deleted, along with an extra 520 errors on top. With the old "boring" code out and the new system in place, I can say races look way better now!
While I was adding in a new scroller showing the pack composition and the new camera system, I decided to add a classic feature to the racing genre as well. The commentator will pull up the leaderboard within races where needed to give you even better presentation on what's happening on track!
Thanks for your support on Venus Derby and Vorecade!
And I hope you'll like Venus Derby when it releases!
