Awoo!
How are you, mates?
I haven't made a devlog in a while, and today I happen to have some free time, so I thought I'd let you know how things are on my end!
The USA visit with Sleth has been amazing, although it's more packed with stuff to do than I expected, haha. Maybe that's kinda good, because whenever I have too much free time, I keep coming back to thinking about and planning Shelter stuff. We've been away from home for like three weeks now, and despite all the amazing trip stuff we've been doing, I can't help but feel eager to continue my work. I have my whiteboard back home filled with "TO-DO after vacation" list from top to bottom, and it's been taking some self-restraint and distraction to leave that for the time being.
Of course, I know that rest is important when working on a long-term project like Shelter. I feel eager to be back now, but through the whole past year and some, the thought of going on this trip had been one of the greater motivations to keep pushing myself. And it's been really amazing! USA is one of my favorite countries, I've been spending a bunch of time in its beautiful nature, and eating delicious cuisine I don't have back home. All of that, with a cute boyfriend by my side. It's our first big trip together!
We'll be going to Anthrocon in a few days, so today I'm gonna go print some stickers and other small stuff to share with people. Come and say hi if you see a guy walking around in a SHELTER hoodie/tshirt, or if you notice my RAUS/SHELTER badge!
Back on the topic of work, even while I'm away, Hughhhh is working on backgrounds, and our SheltRPG coder is currently implementing Naninovel into our project. It's basically a VN-creation asset in Unity, and I can't wait to switch to that after I'm done with our Renpy Shelter! Renpy was an amazing engine to start with, but I'm sure you can guess that I had to jump through hoops all the time to implement all the crazy coding stuff you see in the VN right now lol. I really hope I'll have more freedom of creation in SheltRPG, fingers crossed!
Hughhhh has already composed quite a few music pieces for SheltRPG and I haven't shared any of them with you yet, so I think I'll post at least one after this devlog <3
That's it from me for now. After Anthrocon, I'm going straight back home, and back to work. I hope I'll get to meet some of you before then!
Your Dog,
Raus Vuffski
