Dear diary:
Lady Liar is back! I haven’t finished chapter 100 yet, but it’s pretty advanced. It’ll be an epilogue in which we’ll see all the characters a while after the events of chapter 99. Normally my chapters are set in 40 panels, but this time, as I have more time and a lot to tell, it’ll probably last a lot longer.
But let’s talk about the chapters that came out today, shall we?
In episode 92, "Careless with my heart," we move two months into the future after Adara left the Galcerán mansion when all her lies were out. Our heroine is not having a good time: she often dreams of Bertrán, who calls her a liar, and during the day she works transcribing letters for the illiterate people of the city. Yes, with the money from the reward, she’s bought her dream house, but she’s not actually rich and still has to have a job.
For a long time, I thought about what Adara could make her living from once she left the mansion, and nothing interesting came to my mind. Bertrán is a writer, Fiorina and Óliver are artists, but Adara has no vocation of that sort. Then, I realized that it had to be something practical, but related to the knowledge and skills that others around her didn’t have. And I saw it clearly: just as she’d help her friend Elicia write to her family, she could help other people... for a small fee, of course. 😎
Anyway, she’s living her new life and, although she has acquaintances, a house and a good job, she misses what she thought she didn’t need: the friendship of Fio and Óliver, and the love of you-know-who. And though she doesn’t realize that her life is now gray tinted, the people around her can clearly tell that she’s not happy.
But then ta-dah! An unexpected encounter ignites a little warm light inside her. Hehehe...
This chapter has been in my head since I was halfway through the series, and I knew it had to be all gray. But the final turn, in which Bertrán also appears gray (and with short hair!), came to me at the last moment, and I loved it. The title, by the way, was a cool phrase that I had written down and hadn’t managed to put it in any chapter yet.
Let’s talk now about the chapter of the Fast Pass: "That’d be another lie". In the comments I saw that there is a general consensus and no one believes that Bertrán wrote the letter. Will they be right? We’ll know in the next episode, which is also one of the best.

¡Lady Liar ha vuelto! Aún no he acabado el capítulo 100, pero lo tengo bastante avanzado. Será un epílogo en el que veremos a todos los personajes un tiempo después de los eventos del capítulo 99. Normalmente mis capítulos se desarrollan en 40 viñetas, pero esta vez, como tengo más tiempo y mucho que contar, probablemente dure bastantes más.
Pero hablemos de los capítulos que han salido hoy, si os parece.
En el capítulo 92, “Careless with my heart”, nos trasladamos dos meses en el futuro, después de que Adara abandonara la mansión Galcerán cuando se descubrieron todas sus mentiras. Nuestra heroína no lo está pasando bien: sueña a menudo con Bertrán, que le recrimina ser una mentirosa, y durante el día se dedica a transcribir cartas para la gente iletrada de la ciudad a cambio de un salario. Porque sí, con el dinero de la recompensa, se ha comprado la casa de sus sueños, pero no es precisamente rica y sigue teniendo que trabajar.
Durante mucho tiempo estuve pensando en qué podría trabajar Adara cuando se fuera de la mansión, y no se me ocurría nada interesante. Bertrán es escritor, Fiorina y Óliver son artistas, pero Adara no tiene ninguna vocación de ese tipo. Entonces me di cuenta de que tenía que ser algo de tipo práctico, pero que estuviera relacionado con los conocimientos y habilidades que otros no tenían. De repente lo vi claramente: igual que ayudaría a su amiga Elicia a escribir a su familia, podría ayudar a otras personas... por un módico precio, por supuesto. 😎
Total, que está viviendo su nueva vida y, aunque tiene conocidos cerca, una casa y un buen trabajo, le falta lo que ella pensaba que no necesitaba: la amistad de Fio y de Óliver, y el amor de ya sabéis quién. Y aunque ella no se da cuenta de que ahora su vida está teñida de gris, la gente de alrededor se da cuenta de que no es feliz.
Pero entonces ¡tachán! Un encuentro inesperado enciende una lucecita cálida en su interior. Jejeje…
Este capítulo lo tenía en mi cabeza desde que iba por la mitad de la serie, y sabía que tenía que ser todo gris. Pero el giro final, en el que aparece Bertrán también gris (¡y con el pelito corto!), se me ocurrió en el último momento y me encantó. El título, por cierto, era una frase chulísima que tenía apuntada y que no había logrado colocar aún en ningún capítulo.
Bueno, y ahora el capítulo del Fast Pass: “That’d be another lie”. En los comentarios he visto que hay un consenso general y nadie cree que Bertrán haya escrito la carta. ¿Tendrán razón? Lo sabremos en el próximo capítulo, que además es uno de los mejores.
