Howdy y'all! First week without a new build for people to play, but hopefully that means everyone has had a chance to check out v0.15.0.4 and our first build in a new engine!
Today, we're going to look at where we are with v0.15.1!
The coding bars not moving looks scary, I know, but they'll move soon! Essentially, updating our code to the latest version of our dialogue handler has been more of a task than anticipated. This is mainly due to getting a whole bunch of cool new features, but also needing to store things in a new way. We've condensed much of the code to make it run more efficiently.
The last thing we need to do is fix the save system to work with this new update, and we'll be set. It's just some work we need to do now so we don't accrue technical debt going forward.
Animated Special Moments are moving slowly, but with our animator finishing up school work, it's going as fast as it can. Around May, he'll be more freed up, and if everything goes well, we can get him working full-time.
As for writing, I finally got back into the swing of things and wrote the third draft of what will be in the next update, v0.15.1, and also did the third draft for v0.15.2! Though I want to maybe add one more thing, we'll see.
The next update will feature a revamped lewd scene that a lot of players missed in the Ren'Py era, and that would be the scene where Isaac looks at porn on his phone. This scene was originally in Episode 3 as an optional scene instead of speaking with Jeze before your movie date with Hazel. I love this scene; there is a certain desperation and exploration of sexuality that I find important to Isaac's growth, which was originally buried.
This scene has 8 images, some are from the old version, and some are new. We also redid Isaac's phone since our report last week. Giving it a back, home, and quit button, which will be helpful when the phone becomes something you can actually use. You can also see the revamped background for Isaac's Newhaven apartment. Sort of sad, isn't it?
And that's it for news about v0.15.1. Remember, it comes out April 7th!
That's all for today. Just remember to love each other. We appreciate your continued support, and Stay Rad!
