Derek is a man in his early 20's focused on his career in sports medicine and bodybuilding. He has always aspired to help others change their lives and become the best versions of themselves; that's why he has been working on a new training app to give people access to better coaching and advice. His interest might come from a personal space since we don't know yet if he was battling with body image issues when he was younger, or if someone around him suffered from health issues. That said, he is a very naive but kind-hearted man, who sometimes comes across as dumb but always with good intentions. He doesn't realize that his admiration for the male physique is actually attraction channeled through his interest in bodybuilding and exercise, and that he actually might be bisexual, but due to the way he was raised, he just never was allowed to see being bi or gay as a possibility, so he might have a complicated time coming to terms with that.
