i wasn't really planning on showing these off yet, since they're really just fun concepts i've been tinkering with recently (it seems the "scary animatronic" hyperfixation bug has bit me again.)
i've talked about this "Five Nights at Freddy's"-esk comic idea before, and i'd still love to work on it at some point! so much so that i'm still actively workin' on designs like these!
i really enjoy the concept of the whole comic giving Leo (and possibly the mascot gals) a fun, simple, cartoonish look, while every so often showing the reader a Magna POV where they're all scary-er looking robots, giving more context to why she's actively running away from them!(the 3rd image being an example of that!)
with that said, i tried giving the girls (and Porky) a more "realistic" and "scary" design (2nd image) and as you can see... it's not really my forte, haha. Za looks pretty fun! but i went a little too free style on Frite and Glaze, and they're just HORRIBLE. it's so hard for me to make character purposely ugly!
instead, i thought of going a different route! making them less robot-y, and more like latex-rubber animatronic suits! even going as far as making them into cute fursonas of themselves! (1st image) i dunno about you guys, but i really like these. they're so goofy and OVERLY detailed, a concept i MAY play around with later on, though for the purposes of this potential comic, i think i'd still try to find a fun "in-between" design for them. where they look SOMEWHAT robot-y, enough where i can easily draw a "realistic" and "scary" variant, and a far-easier-to-comic-ify simply cartoony version! we'll see!
