[Poll] Work in Progress Diary #15 Character Poll Changes

Hi everyone,

The character poll has been going well for a while now, too well, in fact...

Every month, the total number of characters in the poll increases, and I’ve reached the point where there are too many for me to handle. On top of that, managing the bonus points is becoming difficult to balance and manage precisely because of the large number of character nominations.

That’s exactly why I’ve reached the point where I have to make a choice, even though I don’t like it—namely, to reduce the number of nominations in some way. I have several options, and as usual, it’ll be up to you to decide on the “lesser of two evils” in this case.

Option 1: Reduce the number of nominations for LV 4 from 10 to 5.

There’s not much to explain here—this allows everyone to nominate their characters, just in smaller numbers. Don’t worry, the extra points won’t be lost.

Option 2: Consider the first 15–20 comments in the Nominations post

With this option, not everyone will be able to nominate their characters, but those who can will still be able to nominate their 10 characters.

I’d say 15–20 comments because the total number of comments is usually around 30, so that seemed like a good average. Obviously, I’d create one section for LV 3 nominations and another for LV 4 nominations.

If a Level doesn't manage to nominate their characters in time, they can always nominate one in the post for Level 3.

Option 3: Create a new Level 4 Limited, and only members of this level can Nominate characters.

Here too, not everyone will be able to name characters, but those who manage to enter this Limited Tier will be able to name their 10 characters.

If you have any other suggestions on how to handle the large number of nominations, I'm open to other options.

Honestly, I think Option 1 is the best, but I'll let you decide.

Next week I’ll conduct another survey because, thanks to a suggestion, I’ve found a new way to handle the extra points, but I’ll talk about that another time.
