The Lake Knight was going to be a lot more of a prominent character, but once she was revealed to be Harpe it sort of went nowhere. I found her kneepads hard to draw.

I'm not a big DnD player, but many many many people have complained that 8 Dexterity is too high to make this a balanced choice. It's absolutely inspired by the meme of the man looking over his shoulder at another woman. My friend Mich coined the name "Sword Lothario" and it stuck.

This character is one of a few non-binary characters. There's never a reason to mention it in a joke about swords. A lotta people say they're dressed like Captain Kirk but it's a bit tenuous.

This comic makes Baseball canon, but it will probably get retconned one day because I've been thinking about doing a Parryball Tournament Arc.

Ogres appear a few times in the series and always look quite different. The Sword Ogre is about 1/100th the size of Zungir the Ogre - just a weird quirk of being born half sword, I guess.

Hiltilda appears drowning her sorrows in the background of a future episode, because she's still sad about this interaction.

People think the sword is talking in the last panel, but I never got around to fixing it.

I think this is the first appearance of a Furry Green Thing? They might be in a Swor'nament seat somewhere too. Hellswing got named by a fan, I think - a problem because there's no concept of Hell in the Swords mythos. He wears a vial of Swordpire blood around his neck to protect him.

A blatant Scott Pilgrim spoof. Piercey the Pilgrim was also named by a fan.

I really like the moustache man in the third panel, he should show up more.

I was only vaguely aware of Fate Stay/Night at the time, or I wouldn't have called this character Saber. Not worth it!

He's not a dwarf, he's just as tall as one.

I caught a lot of heat for this episode being beat-for-beat the same as the Scroll of Truth, but it was genuinely unintentional and I'll never beat the allegations.

There's the Infinity Sword guy enjoying the Swor'nament. I'm pretty sure there's no canonical problems there.

This would have had more weight if I'd used the bartender joke a few more times leading up to it. Rapier Tapir can talk here, so I choose to believe Sharp just cut him off.

Bograk has six eyes.

This was for a friend, but I didn't get it done in time for their birthday so they may never know. It introduces the concept of "midnight" which impacts some other worldbuilding.

Bright Knight's sword is a simple sword with a yellow and purple handle to represent their undying love. And that they were too cheap for a cool magic sword.
