Hello again! Over the last month, we've released an absolute mountain of improvements that are sure to make using PlayTracker even better!
Recent changes
Revamped and improved game search, now no longer sensitive to rogue trademark symbols, random spaces, inconsistent colons, adventurous hyphens, or odd capitalization.
Added Steam Deck, PS5, XBOX Series X, XBOX Series S, and Google Stadia to list of platforms users can choose to display on their profiles (better late than never)
Added compare features to user interaction graph.
Added navigation to other pages for the game game to the top of Insight game. pages, now consistent with Achievements game pages.
Added graphics to overlap venn diagram, when assets are available.
Updated various visuals for Graphs on Insight.
Graph axis grid values are now prettier, rounded numbers.
Graphs on Insight now have zooming tools in the top right.
Graphs on Insight now offer more export options, the export includes any currently loaded comparison data, and the button has been moved next to the new zooming tools.
Graphs on Insight now have a loading indicator prior to being fully rendered.Added small elements for graphs locked behind Patreon support, users complained it was unclear which graphs are available for which games.
Graphs on Insight will not appear when they have no useful data to show, if this fails, a text indicator that there is no data will show instead, to avoid confusion over whether the graph had loaded properly or not.
Separated yearly and monthly achievement graphs.
Fixed some Steam game covers not appearing.
Renamed game attribute "category" to "features" since it was more fitting and to make way for a new actual "category" game attribute.
Spruced up hover effects on "About" element.
New game search
Search is hard. We've been trying to figure out a good system for a while now, and have changed it several times, each time getting reports of undesirable behavior. However, this latest search algorithm does away with absolutely every problem we've had reported to us so far. It ignores rogue trademark symbols, random spaces, inconsistent colons, adventurous hyphens, and odd capitalization. So when you type in "Borderlands 3", you'll get "Borderlands® 3" on PlayStation, and "Borderlands®3" on XBOX, in addition to Steam's "Borderlands 3".
Lots of improvements to Insight game pages
Insight game pages have gotten a significant face lift. A new navigation bar on top finally completes our vision for game-based navigation between Insight, Achievements, and other future functionalities related to the same game entity. New tools allow users to interact with charts, which have also received tons of visual and bugfix updates, making for a data browsing experience that is better than ever.
Quest for September
In September, we're challenging players to brave the cold darkness of space with our monthly theme: Surviving the Void.
What we're working on
Both the headliners of this month's updates are a direct result of our ongoing work on Lens for Insight, which nears beta release and is our main focus. Lens represents an evolution of how users can do with PlayTracker's data, and we've long considered it a potential catalyst of growth, which is why we've fallen victim to scope creep and have taken so long getting it out the door.
Thank you for your patience and continued support. As always, stay tuned for more.
