Greetings brothers! Today I’m here to bless you with another FLASHGITZ FRIDAY! For most of you, it’s an ordinary Flashgitz Friday, but for my American Brothers, it’s Pi Day! The day on the calendar that reads off the first 3 digits of Pi, that is 3.14, a number that’s essential in the understanding of circles and spher- nah that’s stupid. Fuck Pi day. It’s a regular Flashgitz Friday for you guys, too. So, what are we going to talk about on this regular Flashgitz Friday?
For today’s ramblings: I want to take a step back and showcase some of the different departments and roles that don’t get enough appreciation. So, today I’m going to be showing off the special pose department! They’re in charge of cleaning up poses and objects found in the boards to get them ready for animators.

The Space King salute has to be just right.

If any of the animators fucked up Captain’s Space King salute, they’d be fired into the sun. See why the special pose department is so important?
It’s not an easy job these guys have, so when Episode 3 comes out and you see some tight-ass poses, you’d better show some fucking respect and salute your computer screen or something.
Alright what else can I show you guys. Let’s see here.. oh! How about some more dead aliens! The boys in assets came up with a really cool system for these. Check it out.
They started off by drawing a bunch of dead bodies. Then they drew more. And more. And more. Get the picture? This will cut down on the time it takes to think of poses for different aliens.
Then we sketch our poor victims into the poses that were chosen. This is the stage in which buttcheeks are drawn. These are detailed enough to start vectorizing.
These blue squid freaks are all colored and ready to go!
Look at these little freaks. What are those tubes connected to their asses for? Well whether the suits are ridiculous or not, keeping the designs symmetrical allows us to flip the poses and get more mileage out of the drawings.
I hope this has been an eye-opening glance at the process behind the scenes. We have some kickass artists who need their praises sung more. Speaking of artists who need their praises sung, it’s time for some FAN ART! YIPPEEEE!

Well, brothers, I hope you had fun today. Sure as hell beats Pi Day. I mean, I guess you can eat pie? If you’re just looking for an excuse to eat pie. But that means you have to watch every Flashgitz video every Flashgitz Friday. Deal?
