Greetings boys and girls - we're pleased to be posting our first patreon Behind-The-Scenes pack! Included here is a zip file containing bits of concept and finished art, and the original script from making our Space King teaser! There's also some hints and secrets of whats to come in there 👀
Its fun to look back at our scripts and see what changes were made in the process of creating them:
The Starfucker grabbing him by the head was a much funnier visual that was thought of at the animatic phaseYou'll also notice we didn't originally plan on there being a computer voice over the entire balls extraction scene; just for "applicant accepted," but there was SO much to look at after everything was animated that the voice ended up being necessary to make what was happening crystal clear. I also think it really tied the whole teaser together, especially getting to end on "praise be to Space King"
A couple other highlights from the BTS pack:
We'd originally planned to see way more of the ships, as seen in these early images, but having them that close to the ground was making them seem way too small. Ultimately having just the tubes coming down felt way more mysterious and foreboding until the reveal with the shot in spaceIt also took an embarrassingly long time to get the ship design finalized - probably as many hours as it took to design the soldiers.
