All dungeon crawls begin somewhere, whether through mysterious ruins or dank crypts hidden in hollows. This courtyard is not quite like other dungeon entrances! As part of a loosely-related series following Necromancer-themed maps, we've worked on this courtyard as a grim, but verdant, welcoming area for visitors to the Necromancer's Mountain.
The steps from the north have descended down a hidden hollow and into the ruined grotto that the dark wizard claims as their own. The massive tree surrounded by the welcoming pools of still water showcase the beauty of nature - but only in repose.
This courtyard can be used to highlight druid groves, dungeons, or even mountain shrines.
