DESCRIPTION

Hello you Sexy Deviants,I wanted to talk to about the Environment of Hedonia, and my take of Videogame Environmental changes.I'm not sure about you, but I am personally tired of hard shifts in different environments without reason. What I mean by this is where you have a Forest area, and then Bam! Desert! Bam! Frozen wasteland! in which the only purpose they serve is to provide some environmental diversity as a catalyst for different enemies and variety. But the trade off is that it always feels so disjointed and juxtaposing, like there is no natural progression or ease into that environment. I personally prefer when a game sticks to a theme, and adjusts accordingly and within reason. I think the Witcher 3 landscape is a great testament to this. It has lushes green areas, that transition into adjacent bogs, or eventually when it comes to snowy areas its a gentle progression introducing the snow. Ghost of Tsushima is also a coherent environment.Hedonia is not a massive place. Hedonia essentially is a fruitful green land for the most part that gets distorted and corrupted, And that fantasy lush environment is a key aspect and motif I want to keep throughout all areas. So how do I intend to to add variety between regions?

This is where I want your feedback and thoughts. And what I was thinking was that each region will be lushes, however the flora will have elemental tendencies and evolution due to exposure of high concentration of the different affinities (light, water, earth, fire, twilight)

This is a fantasy game after all, so plants will have these aspects, blades of grass that are entirely water, waterfall coming out of trees, or fires inside Trees. In the Twilight Area, phantom and see-through plants and Flora. These are just some ideas. The "greenery" will also have color palettes reflecting these. More Blues in the water areas, more oranges and Reds in the fire area - (there will still be traditional greenery, just mixed in with these fantasy flora)This does not mean I will not include Lava or Ice etc, but just that it wouldn't be these aggressive harsh charges in environment where one second you are in a Forest, and the next a Desert. What do you think of this concept for "Elementally morphed and evolved Flora?"
