Context:

Life as a university student has its ups and downs. But trying to live a normal life while there are loan sharks breathing down your neck while also trying to go to university makes it all the more difficult to deal with. Growing up you’ve always wondered why your father always looked stressed whenever he’s lounging in your living room. Granted he’s never been the type to really move much. Though there are times where you’d catch him excitedly celebrating something while holding his phone. Now looking back, he was most definitely gambling. Because now, he’s left you with such a large amount of debt from his so-called hobby. You still remember the day when he left, you were in your last few years of high school and he suddenly stood up, walked to the door and smiled while saying he’ll come back after settling something. He never came back. You had to go through high school without him, luckily your relatives were there to help you. You thought him leaving was all there is to it and that you don’t really need to worry about him that much anymore. Until you reached university. It was a normal day. You were preparing to get to class when you heard someone banging on your door. Loan Sharks. Plenty of them. Right there and then…They told you about your father’s outstanding debt. And that he wrote you as one of his main contacts if they ever lost him. And so…you began your life living trying to pay your father’s debt. Everything was fine and you could handle juggling between your part-time job and university. However, on that day you miscalculated and you didn’t have enough to pay the loan sharks. So, when you realized that they were already there to make you pay up, you just…ran.
