Right now, the Jake Eyes channel strategy is to make a new small video (usually 50 Ways to Live in Minecraft) every other month and work on 50 Ways to Die in Elden Ring in the months between. Since my last small video came out in early April, I’m currently working on the Elden Ring video. I’m on day 21 of Elden Ring production, which would normally mean 9 more days of it, but since my last “small” video took 40 days to complete instead of 30, I’m going to work on Elden Ring for an additional 10 days, which means I’ve still got 19 days to work on Elden Ring.
Right now, I’m in the part of production where I record the clips of the characters dying. So far, in the 21 days I’ve spent working on Elden Ring this month, I’ve managed to film 18 shots, bringing the total up to 62 out of the 91 total shots I think I’ll need. That disappoints me because during the last stretch of Elden Ring production, I managed to finish 13 shots in just 8 days and I was hoping I’d be able to keep up that pace. Looking back at the time stamps of my footage reveals that the largest time-gaps occurred during periods when I had to modify a model in the game, which makes sense because changing Elden Ring’s models is kind of a pain. On the plus side, in the last 8 days, I managed to record 14 shots, which is even better than the last week of the last production period. I’m hoping that as long as I don’t have much model work left to do, I’ll be able to keep up that pace, and looking ahead, I only found one more clip left that requires model work. There are clips with other complications I’ll have to figure out, however.
And on the even-plus-er side, I probably don’t even need to worry as much about time anymore anyway since 50WtLiM Bloatmare and my tax returns brought in enough funds to keep the channel running into 2027. I was really worried last year that this channel’s budget would run out before I had a chance to finish 50 Ways to Die in Elden Ring, but thanks to you Patrons, that’s not likely going to happen, so once again, thank you all so much!
