The plan for the Jake Eyes channel is to work on a 50 Ways to Die in Elden Ring video every other month and release a smaller video in the months between. Most of May was taken up by an Elden Ring production period that ended last Monday. In total, I got 22 shots recorded in the 19 days I spent recording them. That’s much better than the 18-shots-in-21-days last month, though to be fair to April Jake, May Jake didn’t have any big modeling projects to do, so May Jake shouldn’t be too proud of his faster production speed. The 22 shots recorded in May brings the total up to 84 of the expected 91, so I only need 7 more.
On Tuesday, I switched gears to working on the next small video. I’m still in the brainstorming phase and haven’t decided which idea would work best for it. 50WtLiM Bloatmare ended the trend of each new 50 Ways to Live video performing worse than the one before. It was the 3rd best-performing 50WtL after the Noobism Connection and Pitfall and a few people I know in person have let me know that their friends really liked it, so I consider it a big success.
And because it was so successful, I’d like to follow it up with another, similar 50 Ways to Live if I can. So far, though, I haven’t been been able to nail down a good-enough idea to commit to. All the brainstorming I’ve done since Tuesday has yielded about 10 or so ideas that I like, but each one has some kind of flaw or missing element that’s made me hesitant to commit to it. In order to pull the trigger on a 50 Ways to Live in Minecraft episode concept, I need to:
a. have a satisfying ending for it in mind
b. believe I can make it in two weeks or less (but probably actually finish it in a month or so)
So far, nothing my imagination’s put forward satisfies both of those criteria. I do have a few ideas for Redstone Ned Zone episodes I could probably use, but like I said, I want to see if I can build on the success of Bloatmare first, so I’m going to keep trying to come up with 50WtL ideas. But if I still don’t have a good one by this time next week, I’ll probably have to fall back on The Redstone Ned Zone.
