Hey everyone. I just finished the script for our new game Gemdom, it's a parody game of the popular series Steven universe.
This game was made in collaboration with BlooBeryl. An incredibly talented artist who makes all of the art for the game. Please go check out his NewGrounds, along with his Twitter and his Bluesky. This game wouldn't be possible without him and his growth means the game's continuation. He's an avid fan of the show, and I hope he'll help me keep that feeling the show has. We are a parody game after all.
In GemDom, you will take the place of the main character, a 19-year-old who has just left home in search of information about his mother. Somewhere in the small town of Beach City, you will find answers. You don't know it yet, but you're about to go on a long journey that's much bigger than yourself.
When you arrive, things don't go according to plan, and you meet the Crystal Gems, a group of aliens who came to Earth with the mission of protecting it from galactic overlords.
Meet the Crystal Gems:
Things go awry with the appearance of something that links you to that story that's so much bigger than your own. And your path will collide with gems: Garnet, Pearl, Amethyst, and Steven and their secret fight for independence for Earth. The town of Beach City is strange, and the universe is vast; you'll have to get stronger if you want to figure out your place in it all. In later updates you'll get to explore all of it, meeting new people and going down expanding storylines, and forming relationships. One's that go from shallow and transactional, to ones that are much deeper and transformational.
Check out the public demo drop on April 21st. But you'll be able to play an earlier version of the game a few days before this proposed date if you subscribe to the Patreon under "GemDom fan" or "Everything Fan", remember, there a free subscriptions for all tiers so if you'd like to try out being a member, it's free!
Anyway, be on the lookout for GemDom and more in late April. The itch page will be made soon.
