An explanation about what’s being done with your donations

At the moment, there are only two patrons, so this is addressed to the two of you. Though this also applies to any other potential patrons.

To keep it short, your donations have yet to be utilized on anything. This is because the server hosting had to be paid all at once back in May 2022 for a total of $93.24, which I paid for myself. The next payment is due on May 2025 at $215.64. The only other cost is the domain name at $12 a month. I have paid for this myself twice.

When I first set up this patreon, I failed to take into account how things are being paid for. Server hosting is being paid every three years, and the domain name every year. While the monthly costs I stated in each tier is still accurate, it doesn’t make sense to portray it as monthly.

This is not to say I won’t be using these donations. I have been considering moving the site to a new host which would allow for far more storage space and faster loading times. These hosts only charge monthly and are more expensive than the current host, so I would be able to use donations on these increased costs.

This move will need to happen before the renewal in May 2025, and before then I plan on pushing a site revamp to add and improve many things. There will be a couple little things for patreon supporters included in this revamp too. I’ll provide more details as work progresses.
