There was no post yesterday due to being extremely busy.
The development process is ongoing, renders are being worked on. The story is becoming more and more complex. I have to import a lot of characters, locations and maps, and build many of them almost from scratch. I’m constantly learning new techniques to improve quality, and in some cases I even end up writing my own plugins for the engine.
Recently, I was looking for a way to reduce the size of the game images as much as possible without losing quality, I tried different methods and the best way is to convert the game files from PNG to WEBP. This would reduce the size of all images by about 26%. That means the HD version of the game would be around 1.4 GB smaller.
However, that’s still not enough to make a meaningful difference, so I don’t think it’s worth spending time on this right now. A much more important task is reducing the size of animations, and they will be present in the next update (with new characters)
