Here is just under 2,000 words of the next part of Amber's adventures. This is an unfinished draft so far, so it is not the full part of the story and it is subject to edits. Part 49; Preston, Minesota; Nine Months Later… Continued.
‘Oh no! No… No-no-no!!’ Amber thought to herself, while trying to force a smile at the sight of nearly all of her family and friends from the area. Even though she was wearing clothes, she felt exposed for all to see. Swollen and stuffed, no matter how badly she wished she could suck in her fattened belly, Amber just couldn’t do it. The embarrassment elevated her heart rate, her cheeks blushed, and she was suddenly out of breath. Her hand was still holding Bobby’s, she gripped it tighter for dear life.
For a moment, a sort of stunned silence overcame the onlookers, the vast majority of Amber’s family and friends from home hadn’t seen her since she’d put on weight. To them, the wide and round young women standing in the doorway was not at all what they were expecting.
Amber’s formerly trim figure had ballooned into a soft mound of plump, jiggly chub. Her face had softened and gotten chubby with puffy cheeks and an undeniable double chin. Her breasts had swollen in size and now sported far more cleavage than anyone had seen on Amber before. Being almost three times the size she used to be made her prodigious gut look positively enormous. Its size dwarfed that of her fatter arms, but it was obvious at a glance that the worst of Amber’s newfound excess weight had gravitated to her lower body. Her thighs were thicker than her waist used to be, the width of her hips practically filled the doorframe she was standing just in front of and her pubic area had gotten so decidedly fatty that it was straining the grey leggings she was wearing.
‘Why is everybody so quiet? I got fat, but it can’t be that shocking, right?’ Amber thought to herself in a growing panic. Struggling to waddle more inside, the floorboards Amber stood upon creaked loudly with every shift of her weight from side to side. Amber could feel everyone’s eyes on her, just as she could feel her massively fattened body jiggling uncontrollably with every step.
It was then that a chorus of whispers started echoing among the crowd of stunned onlookers:
“Amber certainly changed her diet… That waistline… Ick…” Amber heard before the voices whispering around began to meld together. There was too much going on for Amber to hear everything, but her imagination filled in the details she missed…
“Isn’t she an exercise science major? I guess she doesn’t practice what she preaches anymore.” One of her friends from high school snickered to another.
“Look what she’s done to herself. I can’t believe how much bigger she is.” One of her older cousin’s gasped into the ear of her daughter.
“She has a muffin top where her abs used to be!” The daughter replied matter-of-factly.
“Is that really Amber?” One of Amber’s crew from high school prattled.
“She exploded! Omg!” Someone else replied. Probably Katie, Katie always spoke like she was texting someone.
While her attention was on her friends, Amber’s ears picked up some name calling among the more astonished comments:
“Pig.”
“Whale.”
“Fatass.”
It was like everyone had something to say. Out of her left ear, she heard:
“She used to have a perfect figure… now she’ll never be skinny again.”
“Jeez, time to go on a diet.”
“Looks like someone stuck a water hose in her mouth and blew her up!”
“Those hips certainly do not lie.”
“You can tell she’s been taking advantage of those endless college meals.”
“Lol she got sooo plump!”
“Oof!”
“Wow looks like someone really enjoyed her senior year huh??”
“Zero gym.”
“She might wanna start laying off the carbs.”
“She is absolutely spilling out of that tank top!”
At the same time out of her right ear, she heard a more coherent, but no less hurtful conversation:
“How did SHE land a guy like THAT? He’s hot and she’s…”
“Amber must be a real freak in the sack. That’s the only possible explanation.”
“Oh lord.”
“Facts omg haha!”
“Why do you guys gotta make everything dirty?”
“It’s like the first thing that appears in my head.”
“Tis true.”
“Maybe he likes’em thiccc.”
“It certainly looks like someone’s been keeping Amber well fed.”
Looking toward her mother, wanting this torment to end, Amber grunted with a suppressed rage in her voice, “I told you I didn’t want a graduation party mom!”
“Well you don’t get everything you want!” Amber’s mother shrugged off Amber’s concern before addressing the crowd, “Pizza and drinks are in the back yard! Congratulations Amber! We are sooo proud of you! Now let’s eat!”
Amber watched as her mother and friends funneled out the back side of the house after some sheepish and distant congratulations. It was like they didn’t want to come near her. Like she was sick with something. Like they were worried her fat was contagious or something.
“Did you know about this?” Amber asked Bobby who was still standing proudly next to her.
“They told me when you and Abby left.” Bobby admitted.
“A warning would have been nice. I don’t think I’ve ever be so humiliated…” Amber muttered, as a flood of memories from the previous summer crowded the forefront of her mind.
“You’ve got nothing to be embarrassed…” Bobby began to say, as Amber stopped him.
“I’ve got an upset stomach, grab me some ginger ale.” Amber ordered, as her boyfriend nodded.
“Right away. Want anything else to make you feel better?” He offered.
Amber’s first thought in response turned to food, “Maybe you could run to the store and get me some sour patch kiddos for later?”
“Sure thing.” Bobby nodded before leaving Amber’s side to head to the kitchen.
Alone, Amber waddled toward the dining room, where she saw her sister and her grandmother sitting down together. Addressing her sister, Amber growled, “I can’t believe you.”
“What?” Abby shrugged feigning innocence as usual.
“You freaking stuffed me like a freaking thanksgiving turkey knowing I was going to have to see people!.” Amber vented with irritation.
“I did what I had to do to keep you from coming home before your party was ready for you. You’re welcome.” Abby replied rolling her eyes.
“I never wanted a party!” Amber snapped.
“I wanted a graduation party and I never got one, so cry me a river.” Abby snapped right back not wanting to deal with Amber acting so spoiled.
“Amber?” Amber’s grandmother questioned, as if recognizing her for the first time.
“What Grandma?” Amber asked, trying to cool her tone.
“Oh my god. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree does it. You got so fat I thought you were your mother!” Her grandmother pointed out before chuckling.
“Like okay Judy, you’ve been drinking and smoking everyday for like 55 years, but I don’t call you on it, so how about you leave me alone!” Amber rapidly prattled at her wits end. Which was something her grandmother apparently found so amusing she laughed so hard she started coughing.
“Amber!” Abby grunted surprised by how disrespectful her tubby little sister was acting right now, “Come on, you gotta be nice to Grandma.”
“Yeah, you know I’m not going to be around much longer.” Judy sympathetically replied really hamming it up.
“You’ve been saying that every time I’ve visited you ever since I can remember. I’m honestly convinced you’re immortal Grandma.” Amber replied, as she felt a hand wrap around her shoulder. At first she thought it was Bobby, but when she looked at who was standing next to her. It wasn’t Bobby. It was… “Aunt Sandy!”
“Walk with me, talk with me.” The authoritarian pack leader of camp Manitowish demanded, as she steered Amber away from her sister and grandmother and led her toward the front of the house where it was mostly empty, “First things first, congratulations on graduating college. You must be so excited.”
“So excited for what?” Amber muttered not thrilled about being off alone in the house with her stern and fat-phobic aunt.
“For what comes next.” Her aunt replied, before adding, “Do you have a job lined up?”
“Not yet.” Amber admitted. She sensed where her aunt was going with this.
“If you ever change your mind about…” Her Aunt Sandy began, before Amber loudly cut her off.
“No, I’m never stepping foot at your fat camp ever again.” Amber growled not wanting to even entertain the idea of filling in as fat, fat-camp counselor.
“All I’m saying is that there is always a place for you at Camp Manitowash if you change your mind. You would be perfect for our adult…” Sandy tried once again to explain, but once again, Amber shut her down.
“Thanks but no thanks.” Amber scoffed, before waddling off into the kitchen looking for Bobby. He was nowhere to be seen, so Amber reached for the nearest edible thing she could find. Even though she wasn’t hungry, she was feeling stressed. And she ate when she was stressed. It was subconscious at this point, just a coping mechanism for making herself feel better. As Amber snacked on some cheese and crackers, her Aunt followed her into the kitchen.
“You really couldn’t help yourself, could you?” Her aunt accused, as she watched Amber absentmindedly throw some cheese and crackers into her mouth.
“Couldn’t resist. Sue me.” Amber blurted with her mouth full.
“Haha, okay. Okay. Listen. You waddled off before I could finish asking you…” Her aunt tried to add, but Amber wasn’t letting her.
“I don’t care Aunt Sandy. Just leave me alone.” Amber growled conveying her irritation.
“Amber, don’t be like this.” Sandy replied trying to strike a more concerned tone, “Now tell me, what are you planning on doing about this?”
Amber looked down and could see and feel her Aunt pressing her hand into her rounded gut. She couldn’t stop herself from blushing.
“You’re looking uhm… fuller. Than I remember.” Her aunt hummed trying to frame Amber’s massive weight gain diplomatically.
“I don’t know. I’m trying to lose weight. It’s not easy.” Amber defensively pouted.
“Maybe start counting calories, you know be more aware of exactly what you’re putting into your body at all times. You should start exercising again too.” Her aunt explained trying to offer some advice. For some reason, her advice hurt worse than all the gossip she’d heard from her friends.
“I exercise.” Amber huffed, while smashing another cracker desperately into her mouth.
“The sorry state of your waistline suggests otherwise. I barely recognize you waddling around.” Her aunt countered much to Amber’s irritation.
“I do not waddle.” Amber stomped.
“Whatever you say Amber.” Her aunt sighed finally deciding it wasn’t worth it to talk to her niece like this, “Like I said, congratulations on graduating. And if you change your mind about camp this summer, just let me know. I’m sure you’d be a huge asset to our adult pilot program.”
“Oh, I’m sure, but for the millionth time, I’m NOT interested!” Amber snapped, as her Aunt retreated from the room and left Amber alone in her thoughts.
