Just a check-in to let y'all know that I'm still alive and very much working non-stop on YouTube content. The next video is a bit of a manifesto covering 3 interpretations or definitions of leverage, and how it has defined the world economy and (what I believe) has replaced capitalism. Oddly enough, this is one I started working on about 18 months ago after the last post-capitalism video but the script got so long that it qualified as a book. So the focus became writing a script that could accessibly visualize and explain underreported historic macroeconomic events, the math behind them, and how they explain the seemingly unexplainable events we read in the news every day. As usual, the writing, scripting, and monologue recording is filled with doubt and moments of being on the fence about even finishing the project, and then once I start editing, everything comes together and rejuvenates my excitement. I usually give myself an estimated week of editing, but this one requires so much visualization design and licensed historic footage that a week of editing amounted to less than 25% of the editing timeline being finished. That's my way of saying that I'm prioritizing quality over quantity and apologizing for a video taking a few weeks longer than normal. I also wanted to state my appreciation for this Patreon community. I'm constantly blown away by this unique setup that allows me to take on huge projects like this without needing to appeal to a news organization, sponsor, or editor.
