Freaks - Human Animal Hybrids

Here are some paintings I've done of half-human, half animal characters.

 These are partly inspired by Carl Barks' human-animal characters from his Donald Duck comics. Many of his incidental characters had traits of both humans and animals. The Beagle Boys are a prime example. They hace dog-noses, human ears and caucasian flesh color.

As a kid reading his comics I always found these characters somewhat unsettling, like they were victims of radioactivity or genetic experiments gone wrong.
