My grandma used to have a house with a stone basement that you accessed from the outside by a dark stone staircase. When it rained the basement would fill up with water and we'd stand at the top of the stairs waiting for... something and running away screaming that something came out of the water and crawled up towards us. And I wish Mack had stayed at the house so I could've recreated that childhood visual. Just Mack creeping in the water at the bottom of the stairs.
