August should have been a good month, but it wasn't. It started well, I was very optimistic. Then fate took a turn. Never before has the thermometer in Hungary been as consistently high as it has been this year. The mercury has been hovering around 40 degrees Celsius for weeks, sometimes rising above 40 for days (even now), and that's not what we're used to here in Central Europe.
I tried to spare my PC and only render a bit in the evenings, because the thermometer still showed an average temperature of around 30 degrees Celsius in the night. But my poor PC still succumbed to the heat. The power supply, probably due to its age, has died. The problem is that one of my HDDs was also broke down at the same time, the same one that had the entire Rise of the Crime Lord, Distant Horizon and other digital artwork. Fortunately, I had up-to-date backups of all of these, so the loss from this side is insignificant (what concerns you is the August wallpaper, I didn't have a backup of that, but I have the DAZ file, so I'll render that again this week, and then I'll make the September one).
The most unpleasant part was that the Windows startup files were for some reason on that HDD, so I had to reinstall the whole operating system, including all the programs, which took me quite some time. And, as a side bonus, it turned out that my heart doesn't work like a person my age should. So, August was a total bust.
But towards the end of the month, everything started to work out. The PC has been repaired, the new power supply is working well, and this Friday the new HDD will arrive, and it will be bigger than its predecessor. And hopefully with the arrival of autumn, this inhuman heat will slowly disappear.
The good news is that the writing part of the game went well, I was able to do that from my laptop. So this week I'm going to be busy transferring everything I've written to renpy, while also continuing to render at half speed, because until I get the new HDD I'm short on space. Then I hope September will be better than August.

In the meantime thank you for your kind words, your honest criticism and thank you very much to my patrons for their support. And I'm still available on Discord or here, if you contact me about anything, I'll answer. Maybe not right away, but I'll do my best. Or follow me on Twitter and Instagram. Be good and take care of yourselves!
