I wish all of you a wonderful new year! In this post, I'll be talking about goals of 2025 as set in 2025's roadmap, reflect on it and talk a little about what I'll be working on in 2026. (Click Me for 2025 Roadmap)
First, I want to say that I feel thankful and honored for your steady and overwhelming support, which allows me to create all of these resources. Most of the things that were just a cool idea a few years ago are now fully functional and exceed everything I had planned for it, by far!
I. Unleashed 3.0 or VaM 2 Unleashed
I will try to push for Unleashed 3.0 this year. Work on 2.0 last year revolved around filling blanks, pruning things that are redundant and smoothing edges. The new lighting, controls, VR calibrations, new poses, map expansions and play modes are all fitting additions that shaped the comically large scene that 2.0 was into something even larger. But it isnt as polished as I want it to be.
Unleashed 3.0 will be the version thats going to feel as smooth as my brain. We've cut Unleashed into a diamond but it lacks the finish. 3.0 will be the finish it needs.
However, if VaM2 becomes functional and playable sometime in 2026, I will stop working on VaM1 Unleashed (and everything else VaM1 related) and immediately begin work on VaM2 Unleashed
All in all, I think with the completed Template and the many additions through the weekly/biweekly updates, Unleashed made great progress we can now built upon. Thank you for participating so much in Unleashed related polls - this helps me to find new directions and gauge interest for different additions!
II. Free content
Lots of free resources were uploaded in 25 - The themed Assetpacks (e.g. Kitchen, Military) were especially well recieved compared to the single environment uploads I did before. In 2026 I plan to double down on these themed packs by creating new ones and adding to existing ones.
III. QuickEdit
QuickEdit v1 was completed mid 25 and did way better than expected. A larger update for it is already in the oven and nearing completion. This scene/tool is going to get alot more love in 2026.
IV. New Scenes
This is kind of where I failed my 25 goals. I planned to have something new and fresh ready by the end of Q4/25. The reason for it is time management, which can be split in two parts. One part is that miscalculated the time the other resources still needed to get where they need to be. The other part is that I miscalculated the time it needs to create a fresh Scene. I dont want to create the "meta scene" that offers a short, high quality movie-like experience. There are many creators who perfected that craft and I also lack the personal interest in creating these.
I created some prototypes but I dont consider them to be fun or properly functional yet. For example, I have one scene with female 3rd person desktop controls, which feels like youre playing some kind of RE sexploration game. The other is a Desktop tool to build structures and environments (house, room) with a comfortable UI which kind of feels like some survival game crafting UI. :D
Maybe I'll complete one of these in 26 but I wont give any promises on these
Thank you for your time and your support. May your 2026 be amazing. <3
