Across the breakfast table of their shared flat, Daphne eyed Harry suspiciously. Everything seemed unusually normal this morning, which, as she’d learnt from years of being his best friend and now girlfriend, was a sign that he was up to something or that something was about to go terribly awry.

“Would you quit looking at me like that?” Harry asked, glancing up from his tea as he continued to stir some milk in. “I already told you that everything is fine.”

Everything was absolutely not fine.

If anything, Daphne’s eyes narrowed even more.

Harry let out a loud sigh. “Look, you heard from McGonagall herself that I’ll be the new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor. It’s all set in stone. I’ll be by your side all year while you teach Potions. All that’s left for me to do is to give her my list of assigned reading. You and Hermione helped me pick out the books and everything.”

So, the unusual casualness wasn’t about work. What else could it be then?

“You’re still planning to go help the Weasleys de-gnome their garden today?” Daphne asked.

“Yep,” Harry nodded, taking a sip of his tea. “After that, Ron and I are going to stop by Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes to help George tidy up the shop and get it ready to reopen.”

“And nothing else?” Daphne continued, torn with slight disbelief at how simple everything seemed.

“No,” Harry answered. “Other than coming home to get supper ready before you get back. A new butcher opened up in Diagon Alley last week that advertised their short ribs. I was thinking of getting some for supper this weekend and seeing what else they had that I could make for tonight. Maybe a spiced pork loin?”

Now Daphne was truly starting to get worried.

“I think that would be nice,” she began tentatively. Then, on a whim, she reached out across the table and took one of his hands into hers. “Are you alright, love? Are you having those nightmares again or have people been swarming you in the streets or—”

“No, nothing like that,” Harry reassured her with a soft smile. “Really, I’m fine. Although, I’m starting to get a little annoyed that my girlfriend doesn’t seem to believe me.”

“That’s because I know you too well,” Daphne smiled back at him.

Well, if he wasn’t going to tell her what was going on, then she’d just have to wait and see what happened.

Harry glanced at the clock over his shoulder. “You don’t want Horace to get worried. It’s nearly eight, and you know how eager he is to finally retire and hand over the reins to you.”

He was always reminding her when she needed to leave for work, but it felt different today.

“Yeah, I should get going,” Daphne said reluctantly. This was going to be bothering her all day.

As she got up to grab her bag, Harry collected her robes from the wall hook nearby and passed them off to her with a sweet kiss.

“Have a good day,” he said as he ignited the fireplace with a bit of magic.

“You too,” Daphne replied as grabbed a handful of floo powder. She tried to not make it obvious that she was staring at him out of the corner of her eyes as she flooed off to Hogwarts.

Only one thing was on her mind: What was Harry Potter hiding from her?

PAGE BREAK

Thank Merlin! She was finally gone.

The second Daphne disappeared, Harry finally felt a bead of sweat drip down his brow. Daphne was too damned good at reading him, and even though he tried to act as normal as possible, she still saw through him.

How did she do that? Honestly? If he hadn’t been practised in the art of occlumency, he’d swear that she was reading his mind sometimes.

At least he managed to make it through the morning without any further incident. It wouldn’t be the first time that she’d cancelled on her other plans just to stay by his side because she rightly assumed that something was going on.

Harry took the time to clean up their breakfast and the rest of the flat. Part of his reasoning was purely functional: they didn’t have a house-elf to do these things, so someone had to do the rest. However, the majority of his reasoning was that he wanted to be at home in case Daphne happened to return earlier than expected. She knew that he wasn’t going to show up to the Burrow until closer to noon, so he endeavoured to linger around until then.

But as the minutes passed and he finally allowed his nervousness to show, Harry decided that it was better to get it over with rather than waiting around the whole day while his nerves continued to bother him.

He approached the fireplace and called out: “Greengrass Manor.”

The floo took squeezed his body tightly, but after an uncomfortable moment, he was spat out in the grand entry hall of Greengrass Manor. Busts of famous members of their house sat alongside the most verdant plants imaginable against a red-brick backdrop.

“Master Harry,” Hobsy, the Greengrass family’s house-elf, exclaimed with excitement as she appeared suddenly before him. “This is quite the surprise.”

“I’d like to keep it as such, if that’s alright with you,” Harry said as he crouched down to speak to the house-elf. “I was hoping to have a private conversation with Cyrus.”

“Lord Greengrass is in his study right now,” Hobsy told him. “Should I let him know that you’ve arrived.”

“Please,” Harry smiled at the eager house-elf. “But do try and keep it quiet. I’d prefer if no one else knew that I was here—and that includes Daphne, if she were to ask.”

Hobsy didn’t look pleased at the idea of keeping anything from those who’d taken care of her for so many years.

“I promise that it’ll be for the best,” Harry reassured her. “And if it makes you feel any better, you can ask Cyrus after I’ve spoken with him. If he disagrees with me, then by all means do whatever your conscience tells you to.”

That was enough to make Hobsy agree for now. She gave him a firm nod and then disappeared, no doubt both informing Cyrus of his arrival and pondering at his words.

Harry knew the way through Greengrass Manor like it was his home—which, in a way, he supposed it was. After he first started dating Daphne, he’d spent the majority of his summers here. The rest of his time had been spent at Grimmauld Place and the Burrow, but both Sirius and the entire Weasley clan (and Hermione) had been invited over here plenty of times. He’d been given his own bedroom just down the corridor from Daphne and her younger sister Astoria’s, and it was only with the end of the war that he and Daphne decided to move into their own flat together.

Harry passed through the ornate halls, taking his time to marvel at a few of the more generous paintings in the Greengrass’ family’s collection. A few of their ancestors had been marvellous painters whose works existed in the muggle world as well as the magical one, and so it was always a treat to drink them in whenever he had the chance.

By the time he made it up to the second floor of the manor, he knew that Cyrus would’ve finished up all of his work and been waiting on him for a minute now.

The door to his study was open, so Harry popped his head in with a kind smile. Cyrus was sitting behind his desk with a pile of scrolls organised neatly within a container on his left. His days were always filled dealing with imported and exported magical plants, and although he had several competent workers capable of taking on much of his daily tasks, he still insisted on being a core part of the business even by doing as much as he could himself. Although Cyrus was still young by wizard terms, there were many in his position who’d chosen to live the easy life by effectively retiring and allowing others to handle all of their duties. Cyrus was a determined, wilful man though, and Harry respected him tremendously for it.

“Harry,” Cyrus grinned, throwing his arms open in a welcome. “Come in. Come in. Hobsy seemed unusually distressed when she announced you’d arrived. Is everything alright between you and Daphne.”

“Of course, sir,” Harry said as he stepped into the room. With a flick of his wrist, he caused the door to shut behind him. Cyrus nodded towards one of the chairs opposite him, and Harry gladly took a seat. “In fact, you could say that things between us are better than ever.”

“That’s excellent to hear,” Cyrus clapped his hands together. “I was worried when I heard that Daphne was planning to return to Hogwarts to teach Potions, but as soon as you agreed to take on the Defence Against the Dark Arts job, I knew that everything would be fine. So, what is it that you’re here to see me for?”

“Well, it’s actually about Daphne,” Harry said as he shifted uncomfortably in his seat.

“Oh?” Cyrus raised an eyebrow. “Go on then.”

“She… I…”

Suddenly, Cyrus’ face softened. “Tell me what it is that you came here for.”

Did he know? Harry wondered. Was this a talent that every member of the Greengrass family had?

“I loved Daphne with all my heart,” Harry blurted out. “I want to marry her, and I can’t see a life without her in mine. I’d propose to her today, but I didn’t want to do so without your or your wife’s blessing.”

Cyrus leaned back in his chair. “I knew that this day would come. Whether it would be you or some other man, I didn’t know, but ever since she was born, I knew that Daphne would one day find a man that she’d fall in love with.”

With a flick of his wand, a cabinet nearby opened and two glasses floated out onto Cyrus’ desk ahead of a small crystal bottle filled with amber-coloured liquor. He poured equal doses into each glass and passed one across his desk towards Harry while taking the other into his free hand.

“As much as I’d imagined for my daughter, you’re a man who can offer her even more than that,” Cyrus said as he took a sip of his drink. Harry followed him, feeling the whiskey burn down his throat. “Over all these years, I’ve seen you turn into a man I can proudly call my son-in-law. You don’t need my permission. Nothing could make me happier than to see you wed my daughter.”

“I—” Harry choked up, feeling tears coming to his eyes. He bit them back. “I can’t express how much this means to me. Thank you, Cyrus.”

“No thanks are necessary,” he smiled at Harry. “You’ve proved yourself time and time again to be an upstanding man. I can rest easily knowing that you’ll take care of my daughter better than I ever could.”

PAGE BREAK

Even days later, Daphne’s suspicions hadn’t waned. Harry had continued to act extraordinarily usual, leaving every warning sign in her mind blaring.

They were out on their weekend date night—a staple that they always had ever since the war ended—but Daphne couldn’t help but feel like something was off. They were walking peacefully through Hogsmeade, the exact place where they’d ever had their first proper date.

The summer heat seemed much more manageable thanks to the gentle breeze running down the busy streets. Even though there weren’t any students around to shop, plenty of couples and families were out here to buy sweets and various goods, spend time down at the Three Broomsticks, or simply take in the scenic beauty of the village and its surrounding lands.

Hand-in-hand, Harry and Daphne walked along the cobbled roads.

“I was so nervous when I took you here,” Harry smiled at her.

“I was nervous when you asked me,” Daphne admitted.

“Why would you ever be nervous?” Harry laughed. “After all, the weekend before, you’d been riding on my—”

“There’s children around, love,” Daphne smiled through gritted teeth.

Harry looked embarrassed as he scratched the back of his head. “Sorry. It’s hard to pay attention to anyone else when you’re beside me.”

“Now you’re just trying to sweet talk me.”

“Aren’t I always?”

Daphne giggled quietly and pulled herself a bit closer to Harry’s side. He was the sweetest man she’d ever known, and even if he was hiding something from her, that didn’t do much to damage his strongest qualities.

Ducking beneath boughs of marigolds and lilacs, they escaped the bustle of the high street and ended up just past the Three Broomsticks where the shops ended. Few travellers made their way to the small cottages lined the road beyond.

“Where are we headed?” Daphne asked as she turned towards her lover, but she didn’t see him. It wasn’t until she glanced down that she realised that he was on one knee before her.

“I’d planned to do this over supper, but I just couldn’t wait,” he admitted as he fumbled around with something within his inner robes.

Daphne’s breath hitched. She’d imagined that something like this would happen one day… but never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that Harry would propose to her so soon. It wasn’t that she was opposed to the idea—in fact, she had long-since decided that Harry would be the only man she ever loved—but she hadn’t expected a proposal to come her way until they were more situated with their lives… maybe a couple of years after teaching.

But here he was, pulling out a ring box, and Daphne couldn’t stop the tears that began to fall from her eyes.

“Daphne Greengrass,” Harry smiled up at her. “I’ve loved you for so long now that I couldn’t imagine going another day without being your husband-to-be. You’ve been everything that I’ve ever wanted in a partner: intelligent, driven, and unbelievably patient with me.”

Daphne choked up as she laughed.

“You’re the most beautiful witch alive, and I still can’t believe that you’ve chosen to spend your days with me,” Harry continued. “I don’t want to waste another second without promising what I’ll be to you. I want to be your husband. A man who’ll make your days easier just by being by your side and helping you out in any way I can. Whether that’s from my competence or my comical incompetence, I’ll stay by your side regardless and be there to make you smile.”

He opened the box and there sat a ring unlike any that Daphne had ever imagined before. It was a princess diamond in a golden band with three small rubies and three small emeralds dotting the band on either side of the diamond, stopping just before they’d reach her other fingers so that they didn’t accidentally irritate her skin. The band itself was thin and rounded at the edges, just the way she liked, and she could already tell just from looking that it would fit her perfectly.

“You’re the love of my life, Daphne, and I want to share every wonderful second of it with you,” Harry told her. “Will you be my wife?”

“Of course,” Daphne blubbered as she fell forward into his arms as he caught her.

Out of everything that he could’ve done… a proposal!!!

Sincerely, Daphne hadn’t expected this. She was crying and laughing at the same time as she kissed Harry awkwardly. In time, she knew that she’d be annoyed with herself that she hadn’t managed to maintain her composure and make this moment truly special with a perfect kiss, but another part of her recognised that this was simply a perfect representation of their relationship. Nothing had ever been easy or perfect, but they’d both still loved each other throughout it all.

When Harry slid the ring onto her finger, Daphne thought that she was going to faint. It fit perfectly, being just snug enough that it didn’t dare loosen unless she tugged at it. The second it was on her finger, Daphne couldn’t stop looking at it. The only thing that broke her concentration was when her lips decided to forcefully plant themselves on Harry’s again. And then she felt the fire build up in her core.

“We should cancel our supper reservations,” Daphne told Harry suddenly.

“But why?” Harry asked, frowning in confusion. “I thought that you loved Le Bistrognome?”

“I do,” Daphne replied, smiling. “But I think what we have at home will be good enough.”

“We don’t have much,” Harry grimaced. “I used up all of our meat last night—”

“I think there’ll be plenty of meat for me to have,” Daphne interjected.

Harry frowned in confusion. “But we’re out of it. I used the last—”

“Are we?” Daphne asked, pressing her body up against his. She leaned in close to her ear. “I thought that I could be the appetiser you snack on before the main course.”

“Oh!” Harry exclaimed.

Daphne giggled and pulled away from him with a coy look. “But if you’re rather go to—”

“Nope,” Harry said quickly, snatching her hand and grasping it tightly. “We’ve got food at home. Let’s—”

Suddenly, they were both transported away right back to their flat.

The moment they landed just inside of the main doorway, Daphne snatched Harry’s hand and practically pulled him all the way to their bedroom. He thankfully knew what to expect whenever she got into one of her especially-amorous moods, so he vanished off all of their clothes before they even reached the bed.

“I’m going to make you feel like the happiest man in the world,” Daphne told Harry.

Harry just grinned at her and climbed up onto the bed at her prodding. She directed him to lay back, watching eagerly as his semi-hard cock bounced off of his belly. As she climbed up too, she made sure that her large breasts were nicely squished in between her arms, giving him a view that he couldn’t tear his eyes away from.

“I’ve dreamed of this day for too long,” Daphne said sultrily as she crawled up in between his legs. “Don’t tell me that you used up the last of the Felix Felicis to guarantee a perfect night.”

“I’ve still got it at my bedside,” Harry said, gesturing to the small vial on his nightstand. “I wanted to save it for when we decide to have a baby.”

Daphne moaned aloud at the thought. “That could very well be tonight.”

“Not until you’re my wife first,” Harry insisted. “Your parents will want tradition to be—”

“Fuck tradition,” Daphne growled, dropping herself flat onto the bed, kicking her feet up into the air, and grasping his thick, veiny shaft with both of her hands. “I want you, and you want me, right?”

“Of course,” Harry groaned as she stroked him.

“And you want to start a family with me?”

“More than anything in the world.”

“Then let’s not make tonight anything less than perfect,” Daphne told him.

Harry reached over to his nightstand and picked up the small vial from it. The liquid swirled around the bottom, offering far less than a mouthful. The first use of this potion had come the day that Daphne and Harry first confessed their feelings for one another. The second came the day that Harry defeated Voldemort and saved Britain from his reign of terror. And now the third and final one would come the day that they started their family.

Harry pulled out the cork and took a small sip from the vial before passing over the remainder to Daphne. She estimated that the luck inside would only last for half an hour, if not less, so there was no time to waste.

As the golden liquid ran down her throat, Daphne was instantly hit by that euphoric feeling that lingered only in her dreams of the days she’d taken it. Suddenly, everything seemed clearer than it had before. She knew exactly what she needed to do and what steps she had to take to achieve her goals, and from the way Harry was staring longingly at her, he was experiencing the exact same thing.

Excitedly, Daphne angled the tip of Harry’s cock to her mouth and took him in. She kept one fist wrapped around the base of his shaft in a tight grip, slowly stroking him up and down as she swirled her tongue around the head of his cock. But as more and more of his cock became coated in saliva, she started working faster and taking him deeper into her mouth.

Sucking Harry’s cock was one of Daphne’s true delights. It wasn’t exactly the act of sucking him off that brought so much excitement—though she did love the process of refining her technique and introducing new motions she’d learnt through magazines or gossip with her friends—instead, it was the sweet sounds that he couldn’t help but let out whenever she did something so pleasurable that made her want to suck his cock day after day. Her strong, capable man only made these delicate croons whenever she was touching him. It was something for her ears only, and the thrill of that made her every effort worthwhile.

Daphne bobbed her head up and down, working along his shaft to ensure that she gave every inch she could reach as much attention as the rest of him. Had they been in a different position, she would’ve gladly deepthroated his cock and let him see just how much she appreciated everything that he’d ever done for her, but it wasn’t exactly the easiest thing to do when he was lying on his back like this.

So, Daphne redoubled her efforts to give him the best blowjob she could. She tightened her lips around his shaft and ensured that she didn’t let a single bit of saliva drip out from the corners of her mouth that she didn’t intend to. Her fist worked better in time with her lips as she kept moving up and down, and Harry’s groans grew quickly.

It was an art to know exactly when her boyfriend—no, he was her fiancé now—was coming close to finishing. Usually, it started with pulses in her mouth, but he also had this cute way of subtly thrusting his hips upwards too.

The second that Daphne felt him doing exactly that, she pulled her mouth back and climbed on top of him. His brief sound of disappointment was swiftly replaced by the glorious groan that came as she sank down around his cock.

Just like every time she felt him push inside of her, Daphne lost herself to the unbelievable feeling of his intense, hot girth stretching her wet inner walls open until she perfectly molded around his cock. It was utterly delightful and felt better than anything short of an orgasm. But this wasn’t about her pleasure right now. Harry had been so close to cumming, and she didn’t want to ruin that moment for him. She instantly bounced on his cock the second she felt every inch of his shaft fill her tight pussy and kept riding him for the next few seconds until he shut his eyes, gasping her name, and came inside of her.

The hot rush of his cum filling her womb felt like a triumph to her. Every feeling from the Felix Felicis told her that this was exactly what was meant to happen. She believed that this was what was going to make her pregnant, but something within her stopped that train of thought.

She wasn’t done and neither was he.

As Daphne settled around the base of his cock, feeling his cum beginning to leak down around his shaft, trying to escape her pussy, Harry’s eyes shot open. He was still full of lust, his cock refusing to flag in the slightest.

“My husband-to-be,” Daphne crooned at him. “How did I ever get so lucky to end up with a wizard like you?”

Harry chuckled and grasped her hips, letting his fingers run along her smooth skin. “I’m the one that’s lucky. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined someone more perfect to end up with. I love you so much, Daphne.”

“Then show me.”

He flipped her onto her back so quickly that she barely registered what was happening until it was already done. His cock bounced around inside of her pussy, stirring up and hitting some of her most sensitive spots. Daphne bit her lip and moaned quietly, gripping the bedsheets on either side of her as her pussy squeezed Harry’s cock lovingly.

Grabbing onto his back, Daphne held onto her lover tightly as he started to move inside of her. Every single thrust was gentle and loving, like he was giving her a kiss inside of her pussy each time he filled her up completely. It was sweet and delicate and made only more so the moment that he kissed her.

Daphne let herself get lost in the intimate emotions of snogging Harry as he made love to her. Their bodies worked in tandem as they rocked against each other, giving each other exactly what they needed. Harry’s tongue kept pushing into her mouth, and though Daphne rallied against it, she ultimately let him win out as her pleasure skyrocketed and overcame her mind.

Daphne’s legs hooked around Harry’s waist, and she dug her heels into his arse to pull him into her harder and faster. That simple action spurred Harry on, giving her wordless command meaning, and letting him know exactly what she wanted out of him. Her cum-soaked pussy was so wet that his cock could piston in and out of her with barely any friction.

As he pulled his breathless face away from hers, she offered him the most seductive look she could. Her breasts were bouncing wildly atop her chest, her lips were pouted and begging to be kissed again, and her face looked so gorgeous that Harry couldn’t tear his eyes away from her. It was a wonder that he could keep fucking her without a single hitch in his thrusts.

He steadily pressed her legs further and further back until her ass lifted up off of the bed. His cock was pounding straight downward, slamming into her pussy and trying to push her hips back down onto the bed even though neither of them wanted that. They both wanted her tilted back so that the second he came inside of her again, his cum would be trapped inside of her womb thanks to gravity.

The heat that’d been steadily building within her core made her stomach turn in a not-too unpleasant manner. Her fiancé’s cock was hitting so deep and filling her so perfectly that it was sending shivers down her spine. It felt as good as the first time they made love, and her pussy was reacting to it faster than her mind could.

Trembles began to grow within her, making her pussy unexpectedly clench around Harry’s cock tight enough to make him gasp in surprise. As much as she wished she could hold back and enjoy the sensation of Harry’s perfect thrusts for a few moments longer, she simply couldn’t. She was rapidly losing control over her body as pleasure overrode everything else. Somehow, Harry managed to maintain control over himself even as his cock began to pulse wildly inside of her pussy. Whether it was through his stronger willpower or a sheer desire to wait for her to cum first, Daphne didn’t know, but it was sweet regardless.

“Harry, I’m—” she tried to warn him, clawing at his back as her mouth opened into a wordless scream. Her back arched off of the bed as one of the strongest orgasms of her life struck her. She started screaming his name to the heavens above as her pussy spasmed around his cock, and suddenly she felt the comforting warmth of Harry’s cum filling her womb once more. It was a perfect sensation that left both of them in disbelief from what they’d just experienced.

By the time the rush of euphoria came to an end, neither of them dared to move. Daphne could still feel Harry’s cum swirling around inside of her womb as they stared lovingly into each other’s eyes. Eventually though, soreness began to set in, so Harry let her butt fall back down onto the bed, and he pulled out of her pussy so that he could cuddle up next to her.

As Harry’s seed began to spill down the curve of her ass, Daphne smiled at her lover.

“If that didn’t get me pregnant, nothing will.”

“We’ll have to get married before your parents notice your belly growing,” Harry murmured as he kissed her cheek.

“I never wanted a long engagement anyways,” Daphne said as she kissed him back. “You do know that they’ll eventually figure out that I was pregnant before the wedding based on my due date though.”

“That’ll give me a few months to get them used to the idea.”

“Oh? I thought that you were all worried about tradition,” she teased him.

“I used to be,” Harry replied. “But your father and I have come to an understanding. He respects me enough to not make a big deal out of this.”

“Then I guess you’ll just have to win over my mum,” Daphne chuckled.

“That’ll be easy,” Harry grinned. “She loves my treacle tart. And once she gets all involved in planning your baby shower, she’ll forget all about tradition.”

He was right. He was always right about things like this. Besides, her parents loved him like a son already.

Daphne hummed in agreement and molded her body against his. Suddenly, the bedsheets slipped out from beneath their bodies and then covered them up. It wasn’t quite time for bed yet, but Daphne didn’t care. Enjoying these sweet moments with her fiancé made her feel lost in his love all over again.
