Hello there, Patrons!
Here we are at the end of August with the next release of Star Fox Event Horizon almost upon us! Though I've not made any posts in August, those of you who follow me on twitter have no doubt seen the numerous clips and demonstrations of the many things I've been working on. Let's go through some of them now!
- A majority of August was spent going back and fixing up all of the Lylat Wars levels to account for the many updates to the engine over the last several years.
- Neary every boss from the Lylat Wars has been completely reworked and now has proper attack patterns like the Saurian bosses that were made later in development.
- Quite a few missing features are also now working properly, such as the Attack Drone powerup. On that note, Powerups in general now fall to the ground if you are in a Tank or riding a Dinosaur.
- Battle damage effects on hulls and scorch marks from weapons have also now been added into the game, giving more visual indicators if you're target is taking damage.
- Tons of minor UI and HUD changes have been made, now you're able to see which Pilot you have selected in the Ship Selection menu.
- Little "Help!" icons also now pop up when one of your Wingmen are in trouble.
- Several pre-rendered cinematics have been added to the Lylat Wars, notably the proper Intro Cinematic which I've shown here on Patreon.
I'm currently just combing through and playtesting the Saurian levels a few more times to try and spot any problems that snuck through, as well as waiting for several engine updates that I think will help a lot. It also looks like we finally have a voice actress for Kyte, and if the timing goes well several Sauria levels might have her voice lines complete. I do not want to give a specific release date, but I am confident that this will be ready for release by the end of September, so stay tuned!
